  1. The current forums work fine for organizing world PVP, Iron Citadel has weekly 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 tournaments and we are getting ready to start a continuous, running league. It didn't take much to start, I think the first week we had close to 50 people either competing or watching.
  2. Will rated warzones be cross server? Judging by Iron Citadel's very active PVP enthusiests (hope the devs watch our tournements) the top spot will be a trade between 2 guilds. I would be a pleasure to pit our skills against other server's best.
  3. Take advantage of stealth, I tend to start the match by sneaking up to the ledge near the huttball where an enemy is usually stealthed waiting for their teammate to grab and immediately pass the ball, expecting a clean run to the goal while everyone is fighting in the middle. Once he's down and I have the ball I'll pass it off to the most durable (and open) teammate. Stealth out again and move towards the goal ledge. The ball carrier will most likely end up in the pit and only a few short steps from a pass and a point. Stealth out again and wait for the next guy to come with the ball. I too am concerned that the nerf went a little too far but I enjoy the class and its playstyle so I'll adapt.

    To the Exploiters

There's a way to position yourself in the doorway. I watched a bomb disarm itself and there were no other players (my team or opponent) nearby. Bomb disarmed and an imp popped out of the door. I've seen several other posts in the forums of people complaining about and I've run across a tutorial on another forum of how to do it, but I wont post that for obvious reasons.

    To the Exploiters

How come you blurred your overhead name out and not the one by your portlet? I've been seeing more of this myself and its bothersome but its what it takes for the imps to win a couple matches on our server. Just keep reporting them and it'll catch up with them. Also the pubs that cheat over the wall deserves reporting. I enjoy winning but not at the cost of exploiting. I report my own teammates for this.
  6. In that other popular MMO most of us played our server started what we called Friday Night Fights. A well-known PvP guild from each faction started it with a post on our server's forums. The general idea is that a random section of the world (equally accessible by both factions) was chosen, a specific goal was used, such as occupy the local quest hub the longest, and both sides battled it out for an hour for a weeks worth of bragging rights. It might sound dumb to some but it actually attracted most of the serious PvPer and is a ton of fun. And when it comes to PvP, winning is the highest reward. I plan to organize a similar weekly event on my server (Iron Citadel) once we have server forums and decent numbers of high levels are roaming the universe.
  7. Another advantage of the keypad is the thumb pad. I use this for strafing and to continue running forward if I need to use my mouse to select something on screen, like a corpse or change targets.
  8. You get used to it surprisingly quick. I recommend a left-hand key pad, takes getting used to but becomes very intuitive, though that is my personal preference over the keyboard. As far as a difference in PvE, I am not sure what you mean by running in circles. If you want to stand still just don't run.

    Huttball sux

AS a "real PvPer" I don't have a problem with huttball, its a nice take on CTF. As long as I have an opponent to select I am satisfied. If OP was a "real PvPer" he would have rolled Republic anyway knowing that the 2:1 odds would not be in his favor for WZ queues (not seeing huttball all day).
  10. I applaud Bioware's efforts and I think the release will be successful though we will have to wait until the 20th to find out. Consider EGA a sneak preview, like the movies. Wonder if the children rioted when there were pre-screenings to Kung-Fu Panda 2???
  11. Best I could do was click the server name link from my guild page, and tally up the people, from others I know doing similar things it looks like there's about a 2:1 Empire:Republic. On my server: Iron Citadel there were 261 Guilds, 187 Empire with 2446 members and 73 Republic with 1031 members. I'm fine 2 vs 1 though I think the Empire could probably use a little more help.
  12. Should add this also assumes they plan on only giving some people 1 day early access, which I think they will do better.
  13. Assuming the pre-order numbers tapered off exponentially and the pre-launch continues as successfully as today, some basic math gets the following ESTIMATES. 12/13 - July 21-27 12/14 - July 28 - Aug 10 12/15 - Aug 11 - Aug 29 12/16 - Aug 30 - Sept 21 12/17 - Sept 22 - Oct 17 12/18 - Oct 18 - Nov 16 12/19 - The rest ESTIMATE ESTIMATE
