  1. Honestly, I don't get how you folks continue. You can't fix huge design flaws in a game like SWTOR without long, painful periods where people unsub while you scramble to put in code that should have been in all along. Server merging, cross server queuing should have been ready to go months ago and BW is obviously reacting in knee jerk fashion to people jumping ship. 1.3 notes come along, and I see these Commando changes. WoW, underwhelming is a good word. Stupid and useless come to mind as well. As long as a PURE DPS class can't out-dps NON DPS roles, you have a huge problem on your hands. BW doesn't know class balance, server balance, or how to construct truly engaging PvP environments if it walked up and slapped them all on the faces. They close the Ilum ride because it was beyond craptastic. My server pop goes from heavy to dead in a matter of weeks. As of 1.3, you still have the same 4 boring pvp shoeboxes and little else to do. What a @#$%ed state this game is in. I am surprised they haven't packed it in and laid everyone off.
  2. I've been logging in the past few weeks to see 3, 4, 5 people on fleet. Yea, what a huge bomb this game turned out to be. I could stand the same boring 4 shoeboxes for PvP for a little while but there isn't anyone to play with! My server is dead! The horse is on the way to the glue factory! 2 years waiting for this game and it bombs inside of 6 months? No wonder they're giving away free time and laying off people! ouch.
  3. Not having fun with my Commando anymore. And I am not waiting for BW to (if) pull their heads out for this class. It is clearly poor in PvP, dps spec and gear included. It was fun for a while, but BW's indifference goes so far until people unsub. And with GW2 and D3 coming out, I won't be back. My server is also dead. The last straw for me was not mentioning a significant nerf to Demo Round in 1.2.0c. Doing crap like that behind our backs was it. Have fun, for you who stay and GL.
  4. And continue rolling around in the same 4 pvp shoeboxes that you've already been rolling around since the game released. And with the same friends, lol. So you get to queue with 7 other people in one group. Sorry, but that's hardly enough to keep a lot of people going. They've hemorrhaged 400,000 accounts since 1.2. They have to give a free month away to do some damage control. They had to shut down It's a Small Wor... I mean, Ilum because it was such a huge and embarrassing failure. There is no end game. Beautifully done PvE and voiced story lines but they didn't realize that content had such little lasting value compared to post 50.
  5. Please say no to drugs.
  6. Who cares, the game sucks. Rated isn't going to make PvP any more fun. All you get is the different colored gear, and bragging rights.
  7. Bioware isn't listening, and if they do, they likely will not get balance right anyway. The best thing to do is unsub and go pre order a copy of GW2. PTs, buffs to Marauders, nerfs to Commandos. Class Balance isn't a strength of Bioware, and I am not sticking around to wait until they can get it right. They lost 400k accounts since 1.2, and gave away a free month. How many more nails can the coffin take, I wonder? <toot> <too> the Tortanic is slowing...
  8. Expertise isn't the problem. The real problem is TOR is a terrible endgame, game. And that's not something that will get fixed in a patch.
  9. Just unsub, it's clear BW doesn't know or have the resources to balance the game across classes and across the gear warfare. I am waiting for GW2. Even if I won EVERY warzone match, it would still be the broken, awful, boring pvp experience BW has face planted on. Ilum, 1.2, etc. Need more nails for the coffin?
  10. Honestly, I don't think they have enough creativity to make it happen. If you take the Star Wars franchise and the copy/paste jobs from WoW, you get what we have today. Not only do they have ship designs, names, music, characters, animations, names, architecture and a whole lot of goodies from the late 70's when the movies were first released to help them with TOR, but they have established MMOs around for years to tell them quest and storyline systems, pvp and pve models. It's not a bad PvE game, it just blows badly for pvp and for anything endgame. TOR has no lasting value. It burned brightly for a few months, and now servers like mine that used to be HEAVY are now LIGHT. My guild of 370 is hanging on to a dozen on prime time. Queues take forever. Am I going to pay for this? Hell no. BW choked. End of story.
  11. My Commando is vr83, with 6 pieces of WH gear, Gunnery spec. I am liking my dps in wzs, somewhere between 250k and 350k, record high was 429k before they nerfed Demo Round silently in 1.2.0c. Not putting a 24% nerf in the patch notes really, really, pissed me off. And that nerf hurt more than anything they put in 1.2 alone. Strange, the biggest hit didn't make a mention in the patch notes. So, really, I get 4 shoeboxes to PvP in, since they took away that complete garbage planet Ilum. If PvP were not such a lazy, disgustingly perverted version of an after thought, I'd probably be fine in TOR. But my server pop took a massive dump, and for the past 2 weeks there's been 15-20 on fleet. So time to reserve a copy of GW2, pray its better, and unsub TOR. GG, Bioware.
  12. leave of absense?! I had another word in mind, but I won't. I didn't think it would happen on Naad's Sarcophagus, but wouldn't you know, all weekend long the high on Fleet was 21 and the low 12. Most of the time, hovering around 17 people. Friday, Saturday, Sunday. The game barely leaves the starting gate then takes a sudden dirt nap (as we used to say in DAoC). Wasn't this thing released in December?! Ouch! Not gonna sit in Queues, which are obscenely long now. It was a valiant effort, BW. Valiant. No, you can't have my stuff. /sub cancelled
  13. If you were correct, and you are far from it, then a decently geared, decently played Commando should win about half (give or take) the fights with an equivalent Marauder. Same goes for all class combinations. This takes into consideration gear and skill. But all things being equal, 2 opposing classes should have an equal chance at taking the other down. It doesn't work like this in TOR today. Nor even close. So go find me where (a simple test, nothing fancy) this example takes place. Find a Commando vs Marauder match, other things being equal, and I'll eagerly take a look. Or, better still, I'd like you to roll a Commando yourself. They're such a fun class, and the story is WOW! The simple truth, also, is you're playing a FOTM class and want it to stay that way. If it does, you lose, because people are currently and will continue to leave. If it goes, then you'll QQ because you're not longer FOTM. The key is to accept all classes are supposed to have a balance of weaknesses and strengths, and today, the pendulum is undoubtedly in favor of Maras and Sents. That can't be argued against.
  14. Sniper? LOL. Grav Round now does a fraction of the damage it once did, as BW put it, so Commandos would have to "think" about the rest of their rotation from now on. Not because it's OP, mind you, but because BW wants Commandos to "try other stuff". We're still forced into standing still post 1.2, with the same rotation as before, using the same abilities as before, along with no new ones, and still the same craptastic defense against every ability given to every other class. If they wanted to help bring the Commando on par with the other classes, they would have instead made the Gunnery tree more mobile, and/or provide some mitigation against chain interrupts and CC. But as the dps tools, those didn't change a lick either. Oh, and thanks for Bioware for NOT putting the recent 1.0.2c nerf to Demo Round in the patch notes. That isn't a mistake, that's just adding insult to injury. And that's just to Commandos, who else was changes is a mystery. If you can't trust your game's devs, then people will start looking for an exit. I was amazed this past weekend how many of my 380 member guild on Naad's was off playing GW2. I think we had 16 on during the weekend. Not a good sign for the state of things. Not a good sign.
  15. Bioware made too many sweeping class changes in one patch, plain and simple. Whether you blame it on the lack of testing, lack of thinking, or lack of anything else, they made too big a move in one shot. That has ALWAYS been to the detriment of players, regardless of MMO you've played. When it comes to class balance, which is key, you take your time, do things right, and test, test, and then test some more. I find it laughable that Maras come here to defend the current state of their class (most, anyway, not all). But the genuine players who can actually think critically about the game they play want even weaknesses across all classes so that the argument of OP can't be made by the majority of the player community. Having FOTM classes breaks the game, it's just that simple. A lot of paying customers will simply unsub and that is a too heavy a price for the entire community, not just those who leave. Bioware better put its game face on and do things right, or they will, without a shred of doubt, lose players to the upcoming MMOs. There isn't any doubt about it.
