  1. LOL to late founded that back in 2004 lol
  2. Actually the handful of roll backs I have ever seen in a game have been game wide, though usually only 30 minutes to an hour if that in length. That being said, I would be pretty bloody mad if they rolled me back to 48 after I hit 50 last night and completed my class storyline for my main character and I'm willing to bet there would be a lot more angry people at the roll back, considering we would be looking at at least an 8 hour period of time. So no, I think the no roll back idea would be the more beneficial.
  3. You forgot Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday /snicker
  4. Both Bounty Hunters and Smugglers should be their own faction, as they both tend to be of the 'whoever pays the most' club. I play both classes, and both are neutral. Though where my smuggler might listen to someone's sob story, the BH gets the job done.
  5. I have played SWG, WoW, EQ, EQ2, Warhammer Online and Rift, the only game I have ever used addons in was WoW. Why? Because to be able to participate in end game you had to use addons, it wasn't required by any mechanic in the game until WotLK, however it was required by your raiding guilds. I would like to be able to customize my UI to some extent, that can be accomplished by BW implementing the ability to move and resize your UI, no addon necessary. I don't see a need for, I don't have a desire for it, and from appearances I am not alone in this. That being said, that doesn't mean those that would like to see addons have any less value, just I don't agree with them. Asking for customization of the UI is not the same as addons, addons are things that do the work for you to some extent. Be it a DBM type addon that tells you what the mob is about to do, or a DPS/HPS meter that tells everyone if you're having a bad day. You are either doing your job or not, numbers don't tell that story, it's the outcome of the encounter that tells that story. Before anyone can say it, I was officially one of the highest DPS warlocks in my guild during Vanilla, in BC I went to tanking and for WotLK and Cata I was one of the main tanks of my guild, so yes I understand how it works. I may not always post the highest numbers, but for some reason I always managed to get the job done. Things got out of hand in Cata, now you can't even gear up an alt because 'your dps is to low' group kick. I mean come on, while the intent of the addons might be good, the actual use of them ends up in the hands of people who only care about the numbers not the game.
  6. Yes there is, those that are bound will say bound in the tooltip, those that are not, will say Bind on Equip in the Tooltip.
  7. No game NEEDS addons. Sometimes they are nice if you like those things, personally it annoyed me to no end to have to deal with finding updates to my addons after every patch in wow. I didn't have addons because I wanted them, I had them because it was required to raid in my guild, and I hated it. While a more customizable UI would be great, that's about the only thing I see that is needed and that is something BW can do inhouse. WoW was the only game I have ever used addons for, at any point in time in the 10 or so years I've been playing MMOs. I'm not saying there aren't people out there that want addons, I'm just saying need is a bit strong of a word to use in regards to them. Oh and as someone else already said, I wouldn't count what a CS Rep said as gold, chances are they don't really know one way or another.
  8. One thing Bioware has done consistently throughout all of their games, Companion Characters have minds of their own, they don't just follow you because you said so, and don't just agree with you because you're the 'hero'. Companions will disagree with you when they think you are wrong, I know in other Bioware games, they will just leave if you aggrivate them to much. If you really want to get the best affection with a Companion, then you have to gear your responses to their personality not your own. I myself have companions who can't stand me no matter what I do, I chalk it up to their personality and mine don't jive and therefore don't use them. I've always played Bioware games this way and will continue to.
  9. Alderaan won't be destroyed for another 3,695 years
  10. OK, I spent most of yesterday on the Fleet crafting and chatting in Guild Chat, and the only time I got hit with AFK was when there was a long pause in chat and I did nothing but have my companions going to do stuff. Everytime I was talking in Guild or General I had no issues with it going afk on me. I am willing to bet there is more to this little story than our OP is telling. However, what game doesn't kick you afk if you stand in one place for an extended period of time doing nothing, which is exactly what you are doing in TOR if you are Crafting, because you aren't crafting your companion characters are, you're just standing there telling them what to do every so often. Like someone else said, I would rather have Bioware err on the side of caution in this and boot someone who appears to be afk than to let people be afk and stay in game. I understand that OP is upset over this, while many of us think it's a silly thing to be upset over, however, insults are never the way to get something solved. Also giving the mods on the forums crap probably not a good choice, that's just my opinion.
  11. From everything I've read, you will not at any point in time be able to change your AC. I too have a high level character that I am not happy with the AC on, and have simply rolled a new one and will go the other direction.
  12. I'm on Quesh now with my level 36 commando, haven't run into any issues at all with difficulty. /shrug.
  13. Again, the actual email with the headers would be appreciated. Without it, I don't buy it.
  14. Think harder about your Legacy name. My smuggler was my main when I started and finished Chapter 1 and chose my surname, I already planned on playing Trooper, Knight and Consular at some point and chose a name that to me allowed me to tie those all together under the same Legacy. As for the Sith side, well my guild is on two servers, so my Sith will have their own name. Not sure what you expected, however, I am pretty sure it was established well before release that the Legacy was meant to cover the entire account on that server, and eventually is meant to give you more options and things for playing the game to high levels on different characters.
  15. There are 3 sides to every story, your side, their side and the truth. The truth is usually somewhere between the other two. I am sure there is more to this story than is being told, because I cannot see Bioware banning people just for going to a higher level planet. So without Bioware's side of the story - ie the bann notice - we cannot determine where the truth lies.
  16. I was in WAR's launch, we had huge patches almost daily for the first two weeks. Rift had large patches in the first few weeks. While Beta does manage to get a lot of the stuff out of the game that is problemsome, some of it won't show up until launch. I think 2 patches in 2 weeks is doing pretty bloody well, without a single server crash that I've seen. I've also only had a single crash to desktop since the 13th. So yes this is quite possibly the smoothest launch I've been a part of.
  17. huh? Were you at the Warhammer launch? I was, though it was a fairly smooth launch, it had nothing on this one. Servers going down daily from day one, lag you could cut with a knife. I loved Warhammer, and was very disappointed that it didn't go as planned, but TOR's launch has been much smoother than Warhammer's.
  18. Mods to help with the UI, or to change the appearance of it I don't mind. What I would hate to see, though it will probably show up eventually, are the mods you 'have to have' to play the game. Being forced to use a mod to be able to participate in all aspects of the game is not something I want to see. I also would like to avoid seeing DPS/HPS meters and Gear ranking addons. Other than that, I'm not against them, I would just prefer to be able to continue to contribute to my guild in end game without having to change my play style because the 'meters' say I'm not doing it right. This is my opinion only.
  19. OP: You took your time through the game and are now 50? HUH? I have been in since 2nd wave of Early Access and my highest level character is 36. Maybe you should go back and start over and pay attention to the storyline and enjoy the game instead of rushing through it at break neck speed. Or better yet go with your original plan, enjoy WoW, Force knows I don't anymore.
  20. I try to stay out of discussions, but I have to say this, and yes I know it's been said. I went back to WoW for the two weeks between the end of Beta and Early Access... It drove me absolutely nuts to read quest text in WoW, to have to read the cutscenes.... TOR has spoiled me, I love the voice overs, and I'm not about to stop enjoying it now. To once again have to read quest text and dialog /shudder.
  21. To reiterate what others have said. Please do not feed the trolls, as that is all those people who say they pre-ordered after July 21 and are in are doing.
