  1. I guess the only thing they have learned from
  2. I'm having ridiculous lagspikes right now. its a slide show. and its all in the same train car, the one with 5 traps. its literally, and I do mean LITERALLY unplayable. I cannot use abilities properly. I cannot move properly. I get movement back for a second and then there's 3 seconds of being frozen. and btw, I have a pretty new computer with a VERY nice video card, more ram than I could possibly need, etc etc. I run newer games on high, or ultra settings, depending on a game. and aside from that particular train car? i have experienced no lag, but I literally had to alt f4 out of the game, because it was THAT bad not appreciating mobs that stun you and then knock you off the train either. it seems to drag on forever, because of how its designed, moving out of the bad stuff on the ground is a crapshoot and just... not fun. not fun at all. NO its not just complaining to complain. stop with that poop, please edited to add, there is a turbolift where the entrance to star fortress is - you can take it to staging room and pick up repeatable mission for the flashpoint there. no need to have finished prior story to do that
  3. there's one small yet crucial difference. the chance of getting snow covered parcels was MUCH higher then a chance of getting a pig. from personal experience it was slightly higher then the chance to get gold certificates. not to mention if you wanted to buy a whole bunch of event rewards but didn't feel like continuing to get parcels once achievement was done (or just didn't feel like farming them at all)? you could buy them from other people.
  4. won the mount twice on a first day. no pig. at all. not sure how much I spent at least a mil though, but I got a whole bunch of tokens from flashpoints as well and I still have some chips left over, because I was too damn bored to keep trying. I got enough certificates to get the decorations I wanted in amounts that i wanted and the moment THAT was done - called it a day. I would say that getting something via rng like that? doesn't feel exciting. doesn't feel like its earned. it feels alternately annoying and just.. this sense of relief of, finally done with this nonsense. and before "why did you do it if you didn't like it so much?" I like decorating. this was the only way to get the decorations I wanted, since they are BoL and as such - not sellable on GTN, unlike stuff from real money gambling known as cartel packs.
  5. I'm actualy worried about the credits part. preferred/f2p credit limits are low as it is. making credits legacywide will mean that your entire stable of characters has 200k/350k between them, unless credit limits are changed. and before people come along and engage in shadenfreude - you do NOT want to push even more people from this game with this. trust me. I'm hoping that this means non subscribers will actualy be able to afford to participate in content/market along with subscribers. that said, the burning question in my mind is.... will the character transfer cost remain at it current number after the 5.4? or will it go up before the patch?
  6. unfortunately, you are stuck with having to get Xoxan top as its the only model with that look, although due to how it dyes, you can actualy get away with crafted dye that has black as primary. I personaly used black/light gray module. but the bottom part you can actualy get very cheap. because there ARE similar looking pants that are not revan's lower robe. for instance chancery legwraps. just checked gtn on my server and they a just under 24k. may need to fiddle with dyes to make them black, from cursory check, looks like you'd need secondary black and primary - something dark enough to blend well. but anyways. figured I'd mention cause I have one of the outfits with the chained bottoms and I know it wasn't revan's robe, so just double checked what it actualy was
  7. indeed you did. and no, I'm unfortunately NOT super lucky :/ but hey, at this rate I'll hit command rank 300 while not specifically farming for command rank 300
  8. yeah, I'm currently having this experience as well. I just tell myself "well at least you are leveling up your command rank and i did get a few pets out of command crates so there's that? but so far... nothing but ye olde gear drops, aka vendor trash :/
  9. at a minimum, they need to keep launcher updated with events. e-mails about ongoing events are a baseline, and I don't understand why they are not doing that. a single person can update facebook and twitter with news reminder that special event is happening. they badly need a PR person that would both advertise the game in general and in game events in particular. unlike field of dreams, which is a movie - "if you build it, they will come" doesn't work in real life.
  10. I think this would be probably best solution. I love the way its going right now becasue I managed to pug more things in the last few days that I have in the last few years. not exaggerating. queues are actualy, amazingly popping and popping quickly. but... if this is made permanent, I think.. because it would be baseline, the rush of activity will just go away again. so if its a recurring event, I think it would create a better balance.
  11. these drop on solo mode???? well, now I know which flashpoint I'll be running
  12. on one hand its kinda odd. on the other hand I actualy pugged like 3 ops in 2 days.... and I didn't expect even one, so... there's that? but yeah, some sort of official statement would be nice.
  13. it WAS impossible without exploiting, but they popped the kill xp back up, as far as i could tell from running a few things, not to mention - just finishing, legitimately 2 ops last night, without using any of the packs - got me something like 30 levels? in about 2 hours. cool beans, thank you like other reply said, i haven't seen them say anything about removing or adjusting it, so was just wondering.
  14. does it still exist. i remember it was a thing, back when GC just came out and was MUCH slower to acquire. but the rate of acquisition has changed and double xp event makes it go even faster especially if you do something like ops (I understand that group content is supposed to be faster, but it is ridiculously, insanely significantly faster then solo options - which IMO should be brought up a bit, if you are going to keep this system). so... is there still weekly cap? was it increased? is it the same as before? just curious. thanks
  15. except that was the whole point of legacy weapons and armor. giving players ability to SHARE BoE modifications between their characters. it was its intended. purpose. it was part of the reason why set bonuses are bound to armoring now and NOT to the shell like they used to be. it works this way for modifications still. it works this way for crafted/vendor crystals. it works for DYES. you can put a dye in a legacy item, and have an alt wear that item. its literally the whole point of legacy items. alt sharing modifications. crystals are considered to be modifications.
  16. I'm going to adress only a single pertinent statement in your reply, because everything else i don't even want to bother with anymore. collections unlocks for tunings are identical to collection unlocks for gold color crystals. 400cc. they are NOT more expensive. sure there are crystals that are cheaper (though most recent crystals are silver and as such are not significantly cheaper to unlock at 240cc. but the most desirable crystals? are 400 cc. and they are not as rare as tunings. if tunings actualy WERE more expensive to unlock? you would have a point. but there are more gold quality crystals in game, than there are tunings. and yes that is important. P.S. oh yeah, I'm remembering why a certain person was on my ignore list. back they go. P.P.S. you know what the proper fix would be, but I'm guessing that is just too much effort. make the crystals work the way non cc crystals do. you can use them on any alt via legacy weapon. but they do not unlock in collections and you cannot be replicated by every alt. I have a yellow black crystal in one of my sabers. guess what, i don't have to keep buying that crystal just to use it on an alt. that crystal transfers inside a saber, and then goes back to the main who usually uses it. its a singular crystal that stays a singular crystal. the fix they are implementing? is still making cartel crystals to be WORSE then regular in game crystals. stop them from unlocking in collections for a character. close THAT loophole. but they don't wish to do that. they would rather punish people who weren't using the loophole to get free unlocks, right along with those who did.
  17. let me break this down to YOU. he says its an exploit related to legacy weapons. specifically transferring an item via legacy weapon and pulling it out, unlocking it for that character in collections. seeing as this was made impossible for both crystals AND weapon tunings, not just weapon tunings? he did indeed call it an exploit. the principle of thing is that they took something that they stated was NOT an exploit and are now calling it one. he didn't say loophole. he said EXPLOIT. he very specificaly just accused a bulk of the playerbase of deliberately exploiting the game. for years. despite this originally being ok'd by previous management. I totally want this game to be run by people who do this sort of thing /eyeroll P.S. it is related to CSM in that 1. some people have tried to claim that using that machine copiously pre nerf was an exploit. 2. it was nerfed into the ground with very little warning. 3. it was a cartel market item people paid money for. but sure, not related at all. meh, why do I even bother with you? what's done is done. I'm just expressing my dissatisfaction with how it was handled. so much for "new hope" in Keith. sure lets leave the bugs that make the game difficult to enjoy present it game, must... hotfix... collections... yeah yeah, profits.... funny story.. if they tried to make the game more appealing to more people, polished it up a bit, and all... they would have more paying customers and less of a need to nickle and dime the few that remain.
  18. except... it doesn't add up. tunings are much rarer then crystals STILL. they have been losing out on unlock costs for years. especialy since there was a number of crystals that had their unlock cost at 400 cc and since those tend to also come in various stats, that's a lot of cc they have been losing out on. for years. tuning unlocks are a DROP in a bucket compared to that. more likely, this change is due to change in leadership. its kinda similar to new government creating new laws, so that someone who was law abiding under old laws - is now suddenly a criminal without doing anything differently. and now we are having a semantic argument. whereas reality is... its unlikely that they have though that far, at all. Keth came on board. keith, likely under pressure to get the profits up - decided that this was as good as any a place to go for it. and becasue they rushed it, they didn't think all the way through how it would affect their paying customers. new leadership - same old MO.
  19. did you not read Keith's post earlier in this thread? because you should, before you hastily reply again, and put another foot in your mouth and to adress the question of semantics above? the crystal situation existed in game for years. for as long as cartel market existed. if in that time they didn't realize that people used it to unlock crystals in collections.. they were either willfully blind (its not like anyone was hiding it either, people have outright posted about it on the forums) or they have implicitly admitted that its part of "not exploit" I'm honestly having gambling machine deco dejavu right now. and given as I am one of the people who used 50% off sale to unlock crystals in collections, mostly out of sheer laziness - transferring crystals across plethora of alts is a time consuming drag, easier to just unlock them for 30 to 120 cartel coins. so with 5.4 its back to business as usual for me. its the principle of a thing.
  20. so basically something that was stated not to be an exploit since cartel market was first introduced - is now suddenly an exploit. guess we should thank you for small favors that you didn't ban anyone for using it.. oh wait.. that would be close to entire population of the game >_> I did unlock all my favorite colors for account, so with 5.4 it will be back to normal for me, but... so far... monetanezation direction, with removal of bronze items, reduced number of items in packs with increased prices, no more weekly passes, etc... is not encouraging me to come back for good as a subscriber :/ I have one more 2 month card left, bought two of them a while ago, when they were on sale on amazon and I still had hopes for the game. took me this long to use a first one. I don't even know if I'll use a second one anymore. and yes, what bothers me is that they are going back on their words like that, but I supposed.. i should have expected it.
  21. some of you need to acquire reading comprehension. to explain. there are sets in the game that change appearance depending on which faction you belong to. the same set will look different depending on the faction your character is with. start at 60 set is one of those sets btw. the problem here is that when you put one of those sets on Lana? it looks republic. while Theron gets imperial version. which is the opposite of the alignment they are supposed to be I missed that bug, because I have been defaulting to cartel armors for a while now, but it sounds like an annoying one. since there are some nice looking faction specific armors out there.
  22. this change is absolutely bloody insane. I understand not wanting people to unlock crystals for their characters this way. it goes against them originally saying that yeah, its fine, we are ok with that, but ok - opinions change. but the fact that i cannot use legacy weapons that have crystals i have unlocked in collections for account in them - WITH CARTEL COINS? is bloody insane. this. this. this. they are trying to chase down every last little penny, but their changes impact negatively their PAYING customers the most.
  23. speaking of bind on sale tokens. this is anther problem with certain subscribers in this game. they refuse to accept anything that is not specific player paying the amount they feel is fair (not to bioware mind you, but to them, to make them feel better about subscribing). god i wish i didn't need to bring it up, but its actualy a relevant example. WoW. WoW has subscription tokens. what that means? is that some players essentially get to play without paying a dime of extra money directly out of their wallets. does Blizzard care though? no. no it doesn't becasue Blizzard gets paid regardless of whose wallet the money came from. and this system was so successful (and i would wager is responsible for a very noticeable income boost for Blizzard, given what they did next) - that they made it possible to exchange tokens back for bnet balance. not only subset of population doesn't pay a dime out of their personal pockets and yet gets exactly the same, IDENTICAL acess to the game as people who subscribe the old fashioned way? but they now get to grab some games from the Blizzard's store too. why does Blizzard not care? because they STILL. GET. PAID. more then they would have if people subscribed old fashioned way it doesn't matter who bought the passes back then. we don't seem to be complaining that some people spend lots and lots of cash to buy hypercrates, while other people don't pay a dime extra for them and instead buy them with credits. then WHY are passes such a bone of contention? is it becasue deep down the detractors don't really believe that their subscription has value? funny thing is... the more players get to acess content, the more value subscription will have. its in a way an avalanche. more players to sell to = more purchases made = more profit for bioware, more profit for bioware = more development resources = more content for everyone, especially subscribers. thinking in "all or nothing" terms? more often then not results in "nothing". not "all".
  24. currently I'm subscribing, but.. i have gone from someone who used to subscribe with nearly no breaks (first break of any genuine length I took was after last chapter of KOTFE was released. and here is something that those people who keep talking about some hypothetical "paid $5" player - do not understand.vast, VAST majority of preferred in question are players who have subscribed at some point. usually recently otherwise, they wouldn't be able to hit lvl 70. and more importantly - the people who are hurt the most by preferred inability to participate in end game? are not even preferred. its subscribers who have lost a large chunk of population to play with. back when weekly passes still existed? this chunk of population could still participate, could still add to those queuing up for all kinds of things, or even playing with organized guild groups. now? not so much. I forgot who said it, one of the posters here, who may not even play anymore. preferred players ARE content. does this mean preferred accounts should get exactly the same acess as subscribers? no. but it does mean that they should have AN acess, to the end game. they could be leveling galactic rating at half the speed of subscribers. they could have lower chance percentage for tier pieces to drop from said crates. their acquisition of fragments/whatever could be slower then that of a subscriber - one for every 2 crates instead of one every crate, lower rewards from pvp, etc. but they need to be allowed to participate. because you cannot force people to subscribe. they won't subscribe, if you make it all or nothing. they will just leave. and then.. you have fewer and fewer people to play with. some of you are sooooo stuck trying to justify your subscription costs that you forget about overall health of the game.
  25. on one hand, I'm glad they started updating it now. on the other hand they haven't been updating it for so long, one gets out of habit of checking for it. and again, it wouldn't hurt for them to send out a summary in e-mails as well as link it on launcher and i don't know.. sticky it on the forums?
