  1. yep. and honestly. for how underwhelming this reward is - its kinda funny. this whole expac is like bizzaro version of trying to be WoW. except this is what continuously subscribing vets got in WoW http://legendary-loot.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/legendary-loot-world-of-warcraft-10-year-anniversary-orc-statue-subscriber-only.jpg
  2. 1. I. HAVE. IT. I'm not arguing for me. I have Nico. I have HK. I have acess to HK bonus chapter. whether they sell it or not changes nothing FOR ME. 2. you comparison is wrong becasue guess what? I can go into the store after black friday and STILL buy an item. I would pay more for it (and I never suggested that they shouldn't cost more - $20 plus unlock cost IS more than what it cost those of us that have it) 3. if everyone unsubs to buy it later, if they want to pay more for it? more power to them. but one way or another everyone is STILL paying for it, so ..what is the problem exactly here? reminder. you didn't have to be subscribed for multiple months to get Nico, OR HK. you only needed to be subscribed on a specific date. so each companion in a nutshell? cost us $15. selling it for $20 plus unlock costs? is fair.
  3. flashpoint bonus quests don't award CXP. but bonus bosses DO drop the CXP boost tokens, so the bonuses that summon extra bosses are worth doing if CXP is the goal
  4. $20 IS more than it cost to get them and you are wrong. you had to be subscribed on a specific date to get him, you had to be subscribed for several months to get early acess. but to get Nico? people got him with 7 days free subscription. it was very much unintended, but the point is - if you were a subscriber status on one specific date? you got him $20>$15 nearly $20 is not $20 its less then $20. the fact that it cannot craft is a silly restriction IMO (as far as leveling affection - I've been getting a LOT of Muja fruits from missions and the like, and they cost 1 blue jawa scrap on fleet, one of the few gifts that can be bought with jawa junk, same goes for purple and green version, so I'm not entirely sure what makes them so much harder then other companions, they certainly sound easier to level that, say.. Ashara Zavros ) . Treek costs less then $20 and does a LOT more and comes with an actual recruitment mission plus a set of conversation and Treek can be bought with credits from a vendor once you get your legacy high enough 40). and don't forget that unlike people who qualified for Nico Okar as a reward - people who buy him would STILL need to unlock him for the account so it would be more like $25 equivalent, counting unlock costs. making baseline purchase cost to be $50 before unlock costs? is a way to say "I really don't want you to have it because having it makes me feel special, so if you want it - pay well above what he's actualy worth for him"
  5. yeah I phrased it badly. poster made it sound like getting that ViP band gave people acess to CE vendor.. which it didn't not. you just get to go up to the lounge essentially. though I still don't regret that deluxe upgrade, even though I paid full $20 for it. toys were fun to play with, especially since at the time there weren't all that many toys in a first place, and mount was actualy pretty darn useful. credits were harder to get, so getting that little jump of a first mount was nice.
  6. all of this and same. although, at this point i keep trying to roll dodge out of bad in swtor and get frustrated for a second when my character doesn't - only to remember that I cant DO that in TOR it doesn't help that in GW2, it basically works the same way, so switching between GW2 and ESO is not nearly as much of a culture shock. that said... a sort of sticky targeting DOES exist in that as long as you are aiming in a general direction of what you are trying to hit - you will hit it. also, aside from horse leveling - they made it a LOT more alt friendly recently.
  7. which goes to show just how little story chapters award, since heroics are not exactly fast way to farm CXP either. in fact of all the solo only options, the only one that is half way decent (while still being considerably slower then other options) is running storymode flashpoints that are not Star Fortresses (since Star fortress "bosses" don't drop flashpoint cxp tokens, while storymode flashpoints with the droid - do. which is hillarious, since droid assisted flashpoints are much easier and faster to run) the whole system is a disbalanced mess.
  8. seriously. over 3 times of what WE had to pay to qualify (because to get companions you only needed to qualify with a single date - its the HK chapter that required the full 16 chapters worth of subscription)? virtually a cost of an entire triple A title for a bunch of pixels? how is that fair? its the "I'm really too petty to let someone have what I have, so I'm going to make the cost as unreasonable as possible, so that they choke on it" suggestion.
  9. because lapsing for even a day, means they don't get to make this claim anymore, even though its technically still true? aka - seem my explanation for why some people want this statue. they would literally take ANYTHING they can to be able to lord it over other people who got excluded from getting it. no matter how janky. aaah, humans. never change. uh. ViP band was never CE only not since day one. it was always purchasable, or accessible via deluxe upgrade. since day ONE (its just back then - one mil was a LOT harder to get) it didn't give you acess to any of the vendors then? it doesn't give you acess to any of the vendors - now.
  10. well... technically, vendoring them to buy more token could serve as equivalent. since both work at a loss.
  11. nyah, its psychology thing. people generally don't like to be excluded. but they also love to be a part of small exclusive group.
  12. well.. not getting it was branded a slap in a face, does that count? but around page 2 I think (too lazy to check) I pretty much said the same thing - that its probably their dig at people who unsubbed during content drought months, especially during LvD "event" though.. I would learn it for the same reason I have a ever growing number of decorations in my list that I never actualy use for decorating - completionist streak, but.. that's about it. honestly, I would rather they increased the limit on Rishi Idols, the ones that look like a scale with torches on either side? I like those, but only 10 per server is kinda limiting.
  13. after a fashion, yes. originally, it rewarded jawa scraps and cartel certificates fairly often. it was rng, but the rng that was favorable to players. so... they nerfed it. its still rng, but now its more like GC boxes. you mostly get useless rep, very rarely you may get a cartel certificate and occasional jawa scrap.. and I'm not even sure what percentage is for the mount. something ultra low.
  14. but.. but.. that would actualy be reasonable! and logical. and wouldn't exclude as many people! that just won't do! that's not how we do things here at bioware - logic and reason has no place here!. >_> (I'm being sarcastic btw)
  15. keep not duplicate set pieces (cause given that its rng, its quite possible, you won't get that piece upgraded.. ever) and... that's pretty much it. I mean, you could also start keeping schematics for mods and the like IF you get them, around rank 2 (rank 1 IMO are too close to 228 and as such - pointless). companion gifts maybe?
  16. /pats comfortingly. see if it actualy WAS a physical statue, I could understand them being so strict as to who qualifies. but... its pixels. and maybe its grumpiness speaking (nyah, its not grumpiness, but it IS why I can be this flippant about it) but... its not even all that great looking http://www.swtor.com/sites/all/files/en/fallenempire/swtor5/rewards/galactic-alliance-statue.jpg
  17. uh. its not a physical statue. its an in game decoration. which is what makes it so.... sad. all these restrictions... for some pixels.
  18. I can't think of a single one. even people who have mostly been subscribing continuously, still took occasional short breaks for whatever reason. even people who qualified for every, single subscriber/early pre-order reward - didn't subscribe every single day. if the number of people qualifying for this statue - breaks a 100, I will be VERY surprised.
  19. as someone who does have them? I think people who didn't qualify for them as promotions - should STILL get an opportunity to buy them separately ala what they did with Nar Shadaa stronghold promotion (people who subscribed during promotional period - get either 3 or 5 rooms for free - account wide, while everyone else has to buy it individually, per server). unfortunately - given their "veteran" reward and the requirement for it? (not to mention the direction of the game in general"I doubt they will regain enough common sense to even consider it. sorry I mean... if they sell it for $20 rather then $15 it cost those of us who subscribed during promotional period - its still fair IMO. you get to pay more than we did, and everyone gets to enjoy generic companion #30
  20. yep. I mean its pretty arbitrary if you think about it. someone who, say.. subscribed 8 weeks in and stayed subscribed - qualifies. while someone who was in early acess and let their subscription lapse for one week, so mathematically they were subscribed longer - do not qualify. but.. like you said. its just decoration. so. meh.
  21. don't worry. instead of buffing other methods so that it genuinely becomes "play what you want and level anyways" - they will either nerf trash respawns in KP, or just nerf how much CXP you get from champ mobs, just like they did with gold ones.
  22. I think my lapse was a total of about a month and a half? maybe 2 and a half. one being about a week maybe at a tail end of SoR, and most recent being during LvD drought, oh. I bet you, I bet you that's their subtle dig at people who took a break during this non event .
  23. yep. pretty much. I'm now curious to find out just how many people will be eligible for this statue. you know, since its currently popular to excuse Bioware's choices, because they did something similar in WoW... at least Blizzard gave their veterans actual physical statues (incidentally - unless they track rewards and not actual subscription.. this will be the first subscription reward that I won't qualify for. oh well. just another reason to not bother so much..)
  24. players must have become a SWTOR Subscriber within 90 days of the game’s official launch on December 20, 2011 and remained a continuous Subscriber as of Sunday, December 11, 2016 tell me what is it that I'm misunderstanding about continuous subscriber here? if you let your subscription lapse, say a year ago for a week or two. that makes you NON continous subscriber. and given that apparently they HAVe figured out how to track it during KOTFE, what with the whole "you get until next day to resubscribe (not even 24 hours, if your subscription lapses at say 6pm, you still needed to renew it by midnight), or you get no acess to HK chapter) this statue may end up being rarer than those original Correalis mounts that are no longer in game
  25. founders who stayed subscribed continuously. which means unless they use rewards as their tracking method? if you let your subscription lapse even for a few days across these 5 years? no statue for jooo.
