  1. also... some perspective and a reminder. Nar Shadaa stronghold. was a subscriber reward and it was advertized much like the HK chapter. stay subscribed and get certain number of rooms for free. but its not exclusive. people can still buy it. they just have to... buy it. subscribers during the reward period get 3 (or 5 depending on when you first subscribed) rooms unlocked free of additional charge. Shroud of memory should work the same way. if you were a subscriber back then? its unlocked automatically, once you reach that part of the story. and if you are not? you can STILL BUY IT. directly. story. should NOT. be a timed exclusive. EVER.
  2. as someone who actualy has the chapter. I hope they sell it directly at some point, the way section x is sold. bonus story should never have been an incentive. it sucks when single player games do it with bonus missions as preorder rewards and it sucks when MMO does it. it. plain. sucks. let them sell it outright and just, I don't know... give us an outfit or bonus cartel coins or something as a replacement.
  3. the irony is - founder is merely someone who bought a game around release time. they didn't even need to have pre-ordered it. they could have bought it, used up they free months and then leave for years, come back, not spend another dime and STILL be a founder. so respecting someone who bought a game during a certain purchase window? is kinda... misguided. edited to add, i guess you had to have subscribed at least once. I don't remember it was a while ago, could have sworn free month counted. ah well. point still stands even if I'm a day late in making it and essentially repeating the post above me, which I swear i didn't see until after posting mine) the only way to tell if someone was continuous subscriber is this https://tord.mmo-fashion.com/galatic-alliance-statue/ (and that statue had some steep requirements, so whoever has it - subscribed without breaks entire 5 years)
  4. those players cannot participate in galactic command either. so the problem here is not even artifact authorization which CAN be purchased. the problem here is that upgrades other then baseline crafting ones are behind a paywall.
  5. also happens while shopping on GTN, unless you remember to jump every once in a while. as well as when chatting.
  6. when it stopped being worth it, I unsubscribed. when it felt worth it again, I resubscribed. and when its no longer worth it, I'll drop subscription again. while I still think that this game has an utterly atrocious f2p model. $15 a month is honestly not that much for me in my current situation.
  7. for me I did not nor planned to use an exploit, but its not the laziness. the flashpoint itself is just... not fun. it gets slightly better once you get off the train, but the train section is several kinds of not fun. for me. I'm saying this as someone who ran star fortresses over and over for a chance at a few more standing lamps and is still running rakata prime flashpoint for a chance at a few more palms mostly. I have also, before the nerf ran old hardmodes a LOT to get the decorations from THEM before the scaling made it a pain to get them. Umbara flashpoint is just... unfun. its a chore.
  8. i didn't get to go on. I started logging in AFTER the game went down. there are a LOT of people affected by this outage that weren't online in the morning and tried to log in later. they should just either mail the codes to all the active subscribers, and/or - post the reusable code here.
  9. making it a competition of who hits the buttons first? IS making it worse. make it a code that everyone can redeem the way latest cantina codes worked (make them expire tomorrow if you have to but for the love of god, do NOT make it a competition where majority of the people are losers), would have worked much better. as would extending double xp/cxp by another week
  10. I rarely agree with you, but in this instance - 100% agreed.
  11. here's a suggestion to how they could have handled purchasing of a stronghold while still requiring a grind, but not hiding it behind a door. achievement gating! there are already achievements in game for doing that flashpoint a certain number of times. add an achievement for buying the key. unlocking that achievement? allows you to purchase the stornghold. it also automatically makes acess legacy legacywide. this way you don't have to hide the terminal, and eliminate any possibility of exploit. TADA!
  12. accurate! i mean... i didn't know about this bug until today but.. there were people! other people questing! usually when i do go back to old areas, I'm either the only person there (at least for my faction, or maybe there's 2-3 people at best. I actualy saw people! I had to wait my turn to click on a quest item! and omg... so many crates.... it was actualy fun farming cxp for once! and we just cannot have that, can we >_>
  13. my guild is dead. and no i didn't use the exploit and i haven't finished grinding the data yet, because I don't want to deactivate any of my existing strongholds. for me - the only way to even see this stronghold is via video. which is NOT the same as seeing it in person. oh and btw? keys are limited. you cannot just keep giving them away without removing a few people first. I would say that most people complaining about the way this stronghold was set up, are NOT the people who participated in an exploit.
  14. I was trying to be polite although seems pretty polite, so I'll go with that but seriously though making this stronghold completely unaccesible to see through usual ingame means is a very questionable decision, in a series of questionable decisions surrounding this particular stronghold, starting with 2 week grind just to get acess to the terminal and ending with having to disable another stornghold to be able to decorate this one, with the excuse of "conquest bonus and we don't like strongholds filled with chairs to hit that bonus" as if somehow keeping it at 150% stops all the people who decorated their existing strongholds with chairs and commemorative meat trees from continuing to do so in their existing strongholds.... decorating and conquest should have been separate from the start.
  15. Eric. consider placing the terminal on fleet next to other terminals and simple disable purchase button on it. consider making that traders quarters key instead an actual stronghold key. the fact that this stronghold cannot be visited through normal means is just... what is the polite word I'm looking for... strange. odd.
  16. so either 6 am or 8 am eastern. cool beans this means I can still catch up on a few areas tonight before reset thank you both.
  17. really really glad that it won't be fixed yet I may actualy... hit lvl 300 on any one character O_O that said... because google wasn't very helpful... exactly when each day do dailies reset? is it the same time as daily groupfinder operation reset or some other time?
  18. joins the voices of "bioware, you should have added this little fact into patch notes of the patch last week. the flashpoint is highly annoying and pretty much the only reason for me at least to do it is to gain acess to the stronghold. that I have to deactivate something else to do so is not making it appealing. that I cannot even preview it in person unless I'm either given a key by someone who already bought it, or grind my way to get acess to terminal first... on a single character? is NOT making it appealing. seriously though WHY isn't there a terminal on fleet? WHY complicate the whole matter by locking the TERMINAL behind the grind, instead of just (I don't know if you are so bound and determined to have people grind for it) - adding the new currency to its purchase price? the lack of communication here as well as what I would say are VERY questionable decisions is just... staggering. this stronghold is starting to remind me of fulfilling wishes in Bedazzled. sure you get your wish... kinda... but the cost is so high, you might be better off not having made that wish at all.
  19. I think its a matter of personal preference. I used to play GW2 a fair bit, then stopped, went back recently and in some ways ESO's action combat spoiled me, because I found GW2 version so clumsy and uncomfortable despite being VERY similar in nature. quests... GW2 has quests that are started by npc's. you think hearts are a more advanced way of doing it. I think and wish there were more quest npc's in GW2 than the few you get for the personal story. at first filling in the hearts and joining events in progress felt novel. and then it because even more tedious than traditional quest npc quests. I disagree that GTN is better then Lion's trading. Lion's trading is one of the best auction systems I have ever come across. you can list things from anywhere, you can participate in currency exchange but best part is... people can place orders and you can chose lower profit for 100% guaranteed immediate sale by filling the order. and listings as far as I know - don't expire. you do kinda need to buy dyes if you want any colors beyond the basic set they give you. you could try to craft them, but honestly I have found that its easier and cheaper to just buy most colors from lion's trading for a few silver, then try to craft random dye packs and hope you get something good and not 5 repeats of the same common dye (naturally highly in demand rare colors cost obscene amounts of gold, but they have also been getting a little bit more affordable as they have started showing up in anniversary rewards last few years). but.. once they ARE unlocked - the system is brilliant I do agree. as is using outfit stamps to change the look of the gear. (at first amount of tokens can feel limiting, but eventually you end up with a LOT of them through game play so don't even need to buy them from cash shop) that said... I'm not sure SWTOR should be copying GW2, per se. certain parts of it, like dye/outfit system - yeah, but gameplay in general? eh. and its kinda funny to me that you love GW2 graphics so much, while disparaging cartoonish graphics of WoW.. despite the fact that GW2 art style is pretty cartoonish. just different type of cartoon, more anime then disney. but they are still both cartoonish. (not saying GW2 is not pretty, its ridiculously pretty, its main reason why i still have it installed, every once in a while I log in and just travel around looking at all the pretty, its a very beautiful game) anyways, enjoy its always nice to find the game you love playing (for me its been ESO lately, for some of my old guildies its finally fantasy, some moved on to secret world legends... and some stopped playing mmo's all together... congrats on all of you ending up in the same game! )
  20. agreed wholeheartedly. to the book analogy above? its more like giving customers a release date for a new book, only to tell them, they get to read half a book now and can only get the other half a week later.. AFTER taking a test showing that they have thoroughly read and memorized the part one.
  21. that they said you can unlock it with credits or CC as per usual is part of why i read it that you can either grind for it, or just pay the credits outright. this is btw, where the whole credits or cartel coins comes from http://www.swtor.com/info/news/news-article/20170818 they do mention having to get the key there as well, its just... odd. the whole thing IMO is a bit... odd. and again, IMO NOT in a good way.
  22. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9391469#edit9391469 the phrasing here is.. not exactly clear. I also remember reading original costs for initial room and the 2 added ones being 2 mil to unlock and the other 2 rooms being 800k each, but cannot seem to find that post now. the fact that they made it so inaccessible in every way is just... baffling to me. more so the fact that you cannot visit other people's public strongholds from fleet, like you can with every other one.
  23. what kinda baffles me is that they stated that you can buy it for 2 mil. or 5k and some data. and.. that kinda implies that 2 mil means you don't have to farm the data? but the fact that you cannot even acess it at all from anywhere other then your own list once purchased, or from inside the room that requires a 2 week grind to unlock or maybe if you are given individual keys - you cannot even preview someone else's stronghold from a terminal on fleet like you can with every. other. stronghold? is just... what? why?
  24. honestly.. not sure? it was available for me, and i haven't even started Iokath on that character, haven't finished KOTET either. there was a terminal right by the flashpoint door for me and all 3 difficulties were available. now if those pesky lag spikes would go away.... huh, so apparently if you haven't done the story, you are better off in some ways? heh P.S. I'm planning on doing the story anyways, eventually.. I just wanted to get started on the grind for currency to unlock the stronghold, since there is a weekly limit and all :/ I was under impression that it would be available for either full amount of credits (2 million) or data and 5k credits, but apparently you HAVE to grind the flashpoints to even have a chance to buy it at all (via unlocking that trade whatever)? :/ unlike all the other strongholds, there is no terminal on fleet for it. at all.
