  1. I love the game also and agree that customer service has been terrible. I've been trying to find out how to contact an elevated representative and have not been assisted at all after over 10 hours on hold over the past week. Please don't outsource all your customer service to foreign call centers with people who do not play the game. I've had two tickets in the past 2 weeks receive generic responses that did not even address the concern expressed in the ticket. This is beyond frustrating to believe you are receiving assistance only to discover that the game representative couldn't even be bothered to thoroughly read the ticket and the issue described.
  2. But that is what you're asking for. It takes a single small payment to access more action bars. If you really "want" to play, then you should be willing to contribute to the game's growth and success. You SHOULD subscribe, but if you won't then don't complain about the few dollars required to access more action bars. When new warzones are released, there's a good chance you'll get access to them without having contributed a cent towards their development. That's quite a deal for anybody who isn't just looking for free handouts. By the way.. in pvp, there's no way you use more than 2 action bars worth of skills. Buffs can be applied from the skill book without needing to have them on your bars. I
  3. Edit: Main issue is constantly having to hit something without having abilities (concealment) with a cast time or that are channeled.
  4. would love some operative dps buffs (especially concealment). They don't need to add more burst dps bc that would renew the pvp issues, but they could at least improve energy management by lowering the resource requirement on several abilities. Even though there are some extremely talented and extremely geared operatives who pull decent dps in operations, we all know that they are not competitive in prolonged fights compared to the other melee classes.
  5. New WZ sounds cool. Like the idea of being able to get some BH commendations from space missions. Can we get some information on any class balance changes? (particularly operative dps if possible... Does anybody not feel they need some work) Edit: Adding the link to patch notes: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=559053 Love the change to Tionese gear requirements.. WIll definitely make gearing fresh 50's easier. I'm also interested in the new advanced class gear missions.
  6. Cool. I must admit that I almost HAVE to limit myself. When I played WoW I always had 5 different classes @ max level. As a raider, I could never choose which one I wanted to play the most and at times would be asked by my guild to play one over the other to min/max some fights. As a result of my own indecision, I'd end up with 4-5 characters that were all somewhat geared, but none that were fully geared out. Lol. In a way it's a lot more stress-free for me having fewer 50's. My only regret is that I like to dual-role which is part of the reason I picked operative (to heal and dps for change of pace) and powertech (to tank and dps for change of pace). The only problem, particularly noticeable on my operative, is that I don't like to melee dps. So that's why I'm working on a sniper now. I guess I could do a sorcerer for the same reason....
  7. I think that someone posted a recent interview where a developer expressed a willingness to, if not the fact that they are already working on a way to, allow advance class swaps. I would just wonder if this would be a one-time paid service or if it could be done multiple times.
  8. Just curious. I started playing @ release and have only got two level 50 characters... it's not that I haven't started many other characters.. I have several in the 30's and 20's ... but I've never had the motivation to finish them. Honestly the only thing that makes me feel guilty about not finishing the two other classes is that I don't have access to their buffs via legacy when I'm soloing. Is there anybody else that feels the same? My 2 50s are an operative and powertech. I love the non-jedi classes because of my experiences in swg when everybody started making jedi. Plus, I think it's just pretty cool to be a non-jedi skilled, talented, capable enough to take down jedi masters and sith lords (from a sort of RP standpoint). I am actually playing a sniper right now because I don't like that when tanking or healing I end up missing so much of what's going on around me (healing requiring spending too much time staring at bars and taking care of my own raid awareness and tanking having a giant monster right in my face). Ranged dps get to see the whole environment and enjoy a bit more of the optics in my opinion. I considered making a sorcerer to do this, but enjoy the gameplay of sniper/mercenary more. Anywho--- any other long time players that have resisted making multiple 50's? What's your reason?
  9. Wasn't that the whole point of "legacy"? The connection between all of your characters and shared perks/benefits? It seems a bit senseless to have any legacy perks/unlocks that apply only to the single character they are purchased on. Advancing your legacy should advance all of your characters.
  10. I'm going to try to clear a few things up here: 1) Regarding the hostility towards free to play players: I've not seen any hostility that was not caused by said free to play players constantly whining about things they don't get. Nobody has a problem with people who are taking advantage of free to play to enjoy the game. But when general chat is flooded with constant complaints about features that they don't get or how terrible the game is, then it is understandable that subscribers would be a bit annoyed. I've not seen anybody be less than welcoming to f2p players who have asked questions or for help. 2) regarding gear limitations and other f2p restrictions: There is absolutely NO reason why anybody needs epic gear in order to complete their story and advance to level 50. All of the activities that truly require epic gear in every slot are highly restricted for f2p players as it should be. If you want access to those features, then you have the option to pay like everybody else. It's not like there are not TONS of other gear options available. Everybody needs to understand that, at some point, Bioware needs to draw the line. There are many loyal customers and subscribers who are still paying $15 a month. Frankly, $15 a month is not a ton of money and IF it is too much, then you can choose to only pay for features you want in the cartel market. Bioware has offered for free what they intended: the ability for new players to join the game, experience a few of the features, become immersed in their character's story, and then have options available to continue or explore other aspects of the game. Frankly, many of the comparisons between this f2p model and others are often inaccurate. I'd say that people are getting a darn good bargain being able to play even a single character for free. I'm an MMO vet that has played everything from SWG to EQ2 to WoW to Rift to LotRO to GW and GW2. Personally, SWTOR satisfies what I'm looking for more than any of those other games. I don't expect everybody to feel the same. However, I have little sympathy for new players who have not even had to purchase the game, are getting to enjoy an enormous amount of content (even with restrictions), and are not having to pay a dime to do it.
  11. Greetings! I recently resubscribed after many months away while moving and starting work. I'm now able to play again. I've got a 50 operative healer in mostly rakata (been away for a while) and a 50 power tech tank. Mind if I ask what time you tend to run ops? I work until 9 on weekdays and can be home by 9:30pm.
  12. go to wookiepedia and search jedi hunter. In Star Wars literature, films, games, etc there are countless examples of non-force users who were able to match and defeat jedi (even the most powerful jedi). With the assistance of implants, non-force users could match jedi in physical combat. There are weapons that cannot be blocked by lightsabers. Plus, there are lifeforms that literally repel the force, rendering force users within their radius powerless. So yeah-- it's entirely possible for an agent, bounty hunter, trooper, or smuggler to defeat a jedi (even the most powerful).
  13. This argument is simple. You DO NOT roll need on gear for companions without asking first. This game is primarily about players (the human players). Each flashpoint or operation has loot distributed among bosses in such a way that should provide each player who has contributed their time a chance to get an upgrade. When an item drops that let's say only an agent/smuggler can use and someone else rolls need on that item for their companion, that person may be taking the only item that will drop that entire run that would be an upgrade for the agent/smuggler. Having a set of companions with more diverse gear needs does NOT entitle a person to roll on more gear than anybody else. This argument has existed since wow when I'd watch paladins roll need on cloth healing gear over priests claiming "OH, it's an upgrade and I can equip/use it) only to have a plate healing piece for the same slot drop later that of course they'd need saying "oh, i'm the only person that can equip it." Being a plate wearing healer DID NOT entitle paladins to take shaman, druid, and priest gear over shaman, druids, and priests. Those players who did that were just selfish and inconsiderate. It is no difference in this game. And for those of you saying that upgrades for companions help you in world pvp or other pve situations: the stat bonus and benefits of a piece of loot on a companion vs on a player are not comparable. TL;DR Don't be a *****. You don't take away another human player's upgrade just because you want something for your companion after that player has put work into the flashpoint. There are ample items on the market, commendation vendors, and from drops for companions.
