  1. 25% drop rate does not mean guaranteed one out of every 4 bags has a token. It means that each bag you open has a 25% chance to contain a BM commendation. Essentially the opening of past bags have no impact on the opening of the current or future chance, if you open enough bags over time (and the number of bags is a rather large number) you'd wind up at about 25% hit rate. Over the immediate (and even 50 bags is immediate/small sample) having 11% is fine, the RNG gods are not with you and that sucks (and I know the feeling) but you can open your next 5 bags and have BM commends in each one of them.
  2. I had an issue with buying the wrong set piece, filled out a ticket, filled out a follow up ticket with a ton of information, and 3 weeks later they deleted the wrong item and sent me a token. Of course by the time it all happened i had the drop again, but hey I eventually got my item back. :/ At least now everything shows set bonus, paid a 3 week penalty on not googling. :/
  3. My problem with that is that as far as I can tell relics share a CD and I didn't see the need for a 2nd "on use" trinket. Sure the proc is weak, but I've always been a fan of 1x proc 1x activate trinkets and it may not be a big heal but it's an anything can help I guess. It's definitely the first thing I'll replace as soon as I find something better one way or another. The odd part is when they itemized pvp relics mine got converted to a columi relic :/
  4. Normal modes drop the same tier as hardmode flashpoints. Assuming your guild does organized dungeon runs then odds are you guys are ready for hard mode/not a ton of gear waiting for you in normals. Normal, difficulty wise, is a bit of a joke, we 7-manned karagga last night and it was still 1shot city. The Xenotech crap is just that, crap, you're better off running HMs and maybe one more normal to try to fill out peoples gear, then take your guild up to hardmodes. If I want to gear someone up i run them in HM FPs, if i want to show a brand new raider what raid mechanics look like, I take them to normal mode, when I want to raid, hardmode+ or it's just a boring 1shot fest. *shrug* Guilds should not be using normals to gear up, it's inefficient even with ml on speedwise compared to just having your boys run their hard modes.
  5. Massively multiplayer online rage producing gobledegook.
  6. Why ARE you wasting your time grabbing a useless datacron? Completionist? If you were a MIN/maxer you'd already have that written so off your list it wouldn't be funny.
  7. I just have to ask, have you gone to ilum and compared casting both with the same exp versus a target with the same exp or are you just entirely discounting the damage reduction?
  8. Yeah i was more concerned about having to get tons of centurion commends as opposed to battlemaster ones. I don't really mind the RNG thing but there are people at valor 37 who have more expertise than me. Most of my pvp set is my PvE gear :/
  9. Nope healing sage who thinks it was fine pre 1.1.1 Carebears need hardcounters. It leads to situations like this that piss me off, yeah now the few good Ops on Emp side can't melt me now, and that's good i guess ,except now who can melt me? (Noone)
  10. Hey guys: I'm at valor 55 slowing grinding to Battlemaster and was curious how the bags work now. As I understand it they have a chance of dropping a BM Commendation, or 3 Centurion commendations. Is that correct? (I'm asking becuase gear bags have hated me, i've gotten champion pieces but only after i buy the centurion version, and generally have 3-4 of the same piece. Rocking 401 Expertise and I'm hoping I have a bit more luck with BM bags.)
  11. The fail is having any type of hard counters at all, it should always come down to player skill not my class counters your class. Only carebares need hard counters.

    Imps win ties!?

that can tie, and it goes to defender first in my experience, though I've heard who does it faster (e.g. we both deadlock at 2nd set of doors but my team gets through the first door in 1 min and theirs in 3).
  13. And this is when we go from a discussion of the merits of OSX as a technical platform, the frameworks it provides, and etc and turn it into a generic Mac is better thread. I came for the technical discussion, I'm leaving because of the evangelism. Also both OSX and Windows suck. Horribly. Linux, it's free, it's open source, you know what it's doing, and if you don't like something you can change it!
  14. It gets scary when it's an MMO that already has issues with performance in it's engine. In generally Starcraft II performed about 20% worse natively on OSX compared to bootcamping into Windows. For most Mac users that was the difference between bronze league and being able to micro. I have no metrics for World of Warcraft, that game played on my old AMD Duron 1.2GHZ system with 512MB ram and a Geforce 2 MX...so it should in theory run well on any system at all that exists today that it is installed onto, but I have to assume the performance hit, and what's available are different across the board. Specifically things like Hardware Cursor were not available to OpenGL users (OSX and Linux users running Wine who wanted higher FPS as a trade off), nor sunshafts back in Cata, etc. The final problem with OSX and gaming is how it handles hardware support through Kernel Modules. Essentially a manufacturer cannot release their own KEXTs for Video Cards/sound cards/etc, it all comes from Apple. We have no clue how much code Nvidia or ATI provide to these Kernel Extensions (in windows Drivers, in Linux land Kernel Modules), but their lack of support for newer hardware gimps gaming on the platform as well. I ran into that issue last time I played with OSX on a hackintosh and couldn't get 3d acceleration out of my GTX 260, which was at the time over a year old. I hear that the latest OSX would support this card, and a 400-series, but 500-series and future cards lack a KEXT. Apple is as likely to open up kernel extensions as Microsoft is to release a bug free Windows. *EDIT -- As an afterthought, but to get the best performance out of your hardware, Windows has the richer framework and the more open HAL. I'd love to see native clients for Linux but it isn't going to happen. :/
  15. *twitch* That's....nightmare...fuel.
  16. That doesn't change the underlying issues with OSX that scare developers away. On same systems Starcraft II performs better under Windows natively. It's the nature of the OSX beast and Apples goals with it. Steam comming to OSX along with source engine games was a step in the right direction, but you need to be yelling at Cupertino to implement better system libraries and make it easier for developers to get the most out of a native OSX app, not the game developers who are not going to waste time for a platform that is niche and unoptimized for their product, especially when solutions like bootcamp exist. FWIW Blizzard games have _Always_ also been released for mac, all the way back to Warcraft:Orcs and Humans. I played that on my schools old PowerPCs back in 4th grade Hell OS/9 gamed better than OSX I remember doing side-by-sides on two G4 Cubes way back in the day... *EDIT -- FWIW -- Linux user, Windows gamer. Wintendo was always a gaming system and not a serious operating system.
  17. I'd shoot myself in the first raid after that...singing sunflower from wow was annoying enough.
  18. That fix did not go live yet. Read the patch notes we didn't get 1.1.1 this cycle and there were no EV fixes.

    Huttball Tips

Huttball tips: Do not stand on ledges while defending, you are an easy target for a leap. Be aware of the enemies positioning on the offense, setup passing lanes and try to get to ledges for leaps, also if you're a sage/sorc use your life grip to move people past obstacles and pull a stunned ball carrier over the goal line. Pull your camera out to 100% zoomed out, this way you have a better view of the available plays to you, the balls location, etc. Remember that a kill is not as important as getting an attacker off your ball carrier, knock them off ledges, into fire/acid, stun them, etc. Make sure that your ball carrier is not getting sacked. *Edit 1 more Intentional grounding. If you take over the ball on your half of the field and are going to die, pass the ball to empty ground and warn your team that the ball is about to spawn mid. Pray to god you're not passing to an enemy stealth. ()
  20. Double the /played on your main and you about have me.
  21. FWIW this really sucks, i wanted to go this year. Also IB4L
  22. You can queue with up to 4 people and enter a warzone as a group. Pre-made as opposed to randomly placed. A true premade (8 players/a full side) is not available yet but is something I expect to exist for (or at least in) rated warzones. And yes communication helps, I'm constantly discussing what's going on, asking if people in different areas of the map are good, generally letting people know I am aware of the larger situation and am on the way if a small group comes under heavy fire. That may earn me more MVP votes than my consistent top spot on the healing charts.
  23. First thing to address is the last: If that argument held we'd be flying propeller planes, my computer would be the size of my Apartment and be based on tubes, I'd also be writing a letter right now, probably on a flap of dried animal skin in some primitive ink made from whatever the hell they made ink from back then. The fact that something is not present in a product at it's launch, especially a product like an MMO is no reason to exclude it. By that logic, wouldn't you also be anti LFG tool? It isn't here the first two months of launch and all. Actually I have no need to address the rest, I don't like repeating myself to an audience as receptive as my broken antenna on my stereo.
  24. Let's not go over the top, I don't want this thread closed yet. It's...interesting to me at this point.
