  1. I'm one of the people who joined in December and can say this is a great group of people. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
  2. Hey There, I'm a fairly new player myself and I've had no difficulty making credits. I'm level 30 currently and have over 400,000 credits. I took slicing/scavenging/cybertech. I've found slicing makes decent money, but what has really been good for me is cybertech. People have gobbled up all the mods and armoring I've made, as well as the ear pieces. I've sold some level 2 and 3 pieces for 4,000 - 5,000 credits each and some of the ear pieces for 10,000. I admit, what also really helped was finding a purple helmet (forget which one) that I was able to sell for 100,000. Of course the big key is to not spend much on the marketplace yourself. I'm heal specced so I've been getting really fast FP queues, so I've been able to get all the armor and weapon upgrades I need from FP's and so I don't spend much at all on my own personal gear upgrades. Hope that helps!
  3. What days and times do you raid? If you could list the times in PST that would be great. Also, are you open to new, casual players who are just starting out? My wife and I are getting back into the game so will be leveling from scratch. Thanks for your time.
  4. Told you I'm knew...didn't even get that was a joke. LOL! Thanks for the info though. Since the wife and I would be leveling together we would need 2 good stories of the same faction. Based on your post, seems like smuggler and counsular might be 2 good ones to start, or possibly sith warrior and imperial agent.
  5. Without spoilers what made the Guardian and sentinel stories stand out for you?
  6. Hello, I'm a returning, but practically new, player and was wondering how people would rank the various class stories from best to worst? My wife is also likely to start up again as well. Neither of us is particularly set on a class, so I figure we can pick our classes based on the 2 most engaging story-lines. We're both pretty casual players so we'll worry about end-game raiding and such later. So, what do you feel are the best class stories and why? Please no spoilers and thank you for your responses.
  7. I've just returned to the game and would love to join a late-night focused Imp guild. I'm typically most active around 9pm PST (12am EST) - 12am PST (3am EST). Any late-night Imp guilds out there willing to take on a new player?
  8. Hello, I've just returned to SWTOR. I played a few months at release and have not played since. I'd like to find an empire guild that raids 1-2 nights a week around 9pm PST (11am CST, 12am EST) - 12am PST (2am CST, 3am EST). I'll be starting a new character so obviously would not be able to raid for awhile, but I wanted to find a guild that at least had the option later. I can't raid any earlier than those times. Any late night Empire guilds out there? Thanks, Grim
  9. OP...NO! There is already enough damn running in this game. I don't care that it's "immersion" breaking in your opinion. If you don't like it you have the option to run to your heart's content. I don't need to spend any more time than absolutely necessary getting around the space station.
  10. Agreed...I don't get that at all. All the RTS games have a deathmatch mode and it's highly popular. As the OP said, half the time all people want to do in any warzone is just fight each other. Why not make a warzone where the objective is just to kill. Also, just because it's a deathmatch doesn't mean it has to be just some open zone with nothing in it. There can be all kinds of obsticles, rez points, etc. I'm honestly shocked more of these types have not been created. One more thing...this is not the same as an arena of 2 - 4 players. We're still talking 8 or more per side here, so it won't necessarily be any more dependant on specific comps than any of the current warzones.
  11. This guy has it right! I will call anyone a ninja who rolls need for a companion. We all have companions that fill all the roles, so therefore everyone should roll need on every piece of gear that drops. Makes NO sense!
  12. No! Star Wars A New Hope, Greedo is about to kill Han Solo on orders from Jabba. Greedo was a bounty hunter and his job was to kill Han. Of course he failed, but he wasn't there to capture Han.
  13. Well, duh! someone with more skill is going to beat someone with less skill. That's obvious. However, there is no reason to make the imbalance even worse. Let's use the analogy of sports. Are the Green Bay packers MUCH better then the Indianapolis Colts this year? Of course they are, and will win 9 out of 10 times they play each other. Should we make that imbalance even worse by making the Colts use old school leather helmets, deflated balls and no pads? Of course not! You still need to try to strike some form of balance.
  14. This is ridiculous! All of the RTS games are basically like this with everyone having access to the same guns, ammo, armor, etc. People don't cry for nerfs to the equipment. Stop making up excuses not to balance abilities better.
  15. Well, Bioware themselves said they used WoW as the model when making SWTOR. I don't have the exact quote, but I'm sure you can dig it up. If that was what they were aiming for then it stands to reason they should adopt some of the basic functionality that WoW currently has.
  16. Does it work? yes...is it even remotely user friendly...heck no! The GTN needs some major love and attention.
  17. During early access through the the first few weeks of launch I had zero lag or issues. However in the past week or so, my lag has become horrible. Nothing has changed about my machine, and yet suddenly my performance has dropped drastically. When the game first launched I had my graphic settings turned up to high, with shadow effects on and not one bit of lag. I used to roll my eyes at all the people complaining of trouble. Now I'm the one with the problems and I don't know what's going on now.
  18. So right now there is NO problem. You are speculating that there "May" be a problem in the future and worrying about how to overcome said "potential" problem "if" it even comes to pass. Not something you should be all that concerned with right now. "If" it comes to that point then how about all of you take a look at your specs and gear and make changes and you'll probably beat the encounter.
  19. I keep hearing how OP the scoundrel/Ops are and I've been doing quite a lot of PvP and have yet to see more then a few and have never been killed 1v1 by one yet. I'm not saying it's because I'm some awesome PvPer, but simply that none have ever attacked me 1v1. I'm just asking because I've not seen the epidemic, so wondering where they are all at? Are they all just ganking people in world PvP because I don't see the swarm of them in Warzones like the forums would have you believe.
  20. Wait, so if it's a medpack exploit, and any class can use a medpack, how is the PT overpowered?!?!?!
  21. You mean like what WoW is going to with Mists of Panderia?
  22. I completely understand this point and agree. I think we all can agree that the type of person who wants to tackle the heroic modes and the nightmare modes and try to achieve server firsts, etc are going to want DPS meters and I totally understand and respect that aspect. The problem comes, as the OP mentined, that more often than not what happens is scenarios described above. Nobody needs DPS meters for standard instance/flash point runs, and yet, more often than not is when the DPS meters get abused the most. People often getting harrased because they aren't pulling leet DPS in a flashpoint that the group can sleepwalk through.
