The Geoscanners from the PTS did not make it to live. Instead, players just get the Seeker Droid ability and use consumables to buff their searching radius

Lol yeah I pulled 2 all nighters furiously digging for both speeder parts and gear pieces. Finally got the gear set today, nowhere NEAR having a GSI speeder. This is definitely something the devs want us to spend many days searching for. At least 2 of speeder set parts are tradable. The gear is unfortunately BoL :/ I wish I could trade them to people who are having really bad luck, or to get the Star Forager set without doing the grind all over again...

As Dulfy shows in her Seeker Droid mission guide, you get the option (light side/dark side) between the Dreadseed or Star Forger chestpiece. If you choose dark side, you will ONLY GET Dreadseed pieces from now on! If you choose light side, you will ONLY GET Star Forger gear! Once you pick your gear, you can begin searching for the rest of the pieces. Unfortunately, getting a complete set requires incredible luck and randomness. As Ovan_Oh-One has stated, the pieces you find depend on what planet you are digging at. I can verify that Makeb contains the pants, the helmet on Tatooine, the chest on Alderaan and the boots on Hoth. Unfortunately I forgot where I got my gloves, belt and bracers but I'm pretty sure that Ovan is right. You WILL get duplicates of each piece, so be prepared to put in a lot of time to get the whole set. The dig sites are (for both speeder parts and Dreadseed/Star Forager armor): Alderaan South of the Trader's Circle (Republic area) South of the dam where the Strength datacron is (Imperial area) Possible 3rd, contested area? Tatooine Wreak of the Stardream (Republic area) Outlaw's Den (Contested Area) Black Box Heroic Area (head south from the Outlaw's Den, Imp area) Hoth Volcanic Area south of World Boss Snowblind (Imp Area) Highmount Ridge (Contested) Right of Outpost Senth (Republic) Makeb Telemar Mesa Mining Mesa Toborro's Palace (Possibly more?) I strongly believe that there is not a specific area for a certain piece. I've dug at all the sites and got a random assortment of gear pieces, speeder parts, purple companion gifts, and secure crates as the "special treasure" of that area. But I haven't compared my findings to a lot of other people so who knows. Just expect a lot of randomness on your search. Once an area has been "depleted", it will take between an hour to 4 hours (sorry for the broad time range, I will try to make a more accurate log of this) for the area to respawn.

So far, there are: 3 areas on Tatoonie 2 areas on Alderaan (most likely a 3rd) 3 on Hoth 3 on Makeb (maybe more, I haven't been to all the mesas) You can find 2 pieces on each planet, except for Makeb since I've only been getting pants there

There is no specific area to find any of these pieces. Just planet-wide it seems (I'm only missing the boots). I've found multiples of every piece in different treasure areas. Additionally, the location of the treasures are randomized every time the area resets after it's been depleted so getting coordinates or trying where you last found a treasure won't work.

Well that "item" is only datamined. Take it with a grain of salt. But yes, the switch from class to faction stories is....awkward at best.

While there is no class specific story line, the expansion will feature a general Republic and Imperial story line on Makeb. In the video below, Dulfy shows us the first cut-scene of the Republic story-line. The Imperial is also available on her site. As she states in the comments, you will begin the mission on the holo-terminal on your ship. I can only assume that you will need to complete your class story up to this point since the expansion is technically Chapter 4: Rise of the Hutt Cartel. The market feels stagnant because big companies who have the millions upon millions to make MMOs don't like to take risks with that much money. So they try to mimic an MMO that has been very, very successful. This is why there are so many WoW clones (also why there are a lot of CoD clones in the FPS world). Innovation can happen if game companies stop trying to compete with Blizzard/WoW's market. They need to make other MMOs that fill another need that the player has. Less competition means less risk for a company, which leads to new ideas and games being green-lighted. I'm not saying that these new MMOs will be amazing or have millions of subscribers, but they will hopefully bring a lot of new elements to the table.
