  1. For example: A Smuggler gets Cheap Shot at rank 30 (I believe). Has a 4m range, can only be used when the target is incapacitated. At 34, you get Head Shot. Has a 30m range, can only be used when target is incapacitated, Shares a CD with Cheap Shot. I know what you're thinking: Cheap Shot is for Scoundrels and Head Shot is for Gunslingers. Except that Head Shot does noticeably more damage and can be used at much greater distance, say if I threw a thermal grenade or flashbomb on the fly. I'm sure this isn't the only example as far as other classes are concerned but my point is there is absolutely no reason to use the former once you obtain the latter no matter which specialization you are.
  2. Normally the forum moderator would close this thread but.....
  3. They just need to re-evaluate some abilities and realize many get superceded by later abilities and will never get used again once you reach a certain level. I'm all for choice but it's clear that a good handful of abilities are simply placeholders meant to help you in your leveling till you get better ones.
  4. I'm a casual. I didn't Spacebar my way up the sarcasm meter.
  5. There aren't even enough Scoundrels to warrant a nerf. I see one Smuggler for every 100 Jedi. Maybe 1 Smuggler for every 50 Troopers/Commandos and maybe 1 Scoundrel for every 10 Gunslingers.
  6. Troll or not up to speed? Slicing already took a significant nerf in the first patch since launch.
  7. This but just to clarify, you will need a 64bit OS in order to utilize more than 4gigs of RAM. With 32bit, ugrading your RAM won't make a difference.
  8. I would say Scrapper is more of a PvP Tree, although works well in solo PvE. Dirty Tricks is more for PvE, I would guess is more energy efficient for long, drawn-out confrontations in Boss battles and difficult instance mobs.
  9. I'm putting everything I have on WAFFLES. Delicious, Tasty WAFFLES
  10. My favorite were the Ahn'Qiraj 40 sets with the Hunters' Shoulder Pinatas, Paladin Crab suit and Druid Mega Man armor. http://www.berare.com/data/201110/tier-2-andahalf-raid-armor.jpg
  11. 35, myself. I removed the spacebar from my keyboard from Day-1. All kidding aside, I am just in no rush to get to 50. I'm getting to know my class and how best to utilized my bloated skills. I also get tired after doing a bunch of quests and tend to take some social breaks, either by returning to Fleet and just chatting it up with my guildies or dumping some stuff on the GTN and sending my crew on missions. Or, I might get the urge to hunt some datacrons.
  12. I like the upgradable, moddable Orange gear, if nothing else for the fact that I can deck out my companions in the Republic Slave Dancer set and still be useful.
  13. I heard Jawas sparkle when exposed directly to sunlight. Luminous beings are they... till they burst into flames. Wu-Teenee! *POOF*
  14. Well, it did introduce Boba Fett, if nothing else.
  15. Craft, Make some Credits, trick-out your Toon and your Companions, Hunt Datacrons, as someone else suggested, or farm world bosses.
  16. I'm 35 and I don't use it at all. Very rarely. It's more for Gunslingers. Scoundrels are basically Rogues while you can think of Gunslingers as Hunters. You'll want to stay mobile both for survival and getting your strongest attacks in.
  17. I think it depends on what you want to do. Sawbones is focused primarily for healing while Scrapper is more straight-up, single target dps and Dirty Fighting seems geared more towards Dots and AoE. I'm focussing the latter but I have points in all 3 Trees. I can solo most things, including Champions/Bosses but depends on their attacks. I tend to do better against Melee bosses because they can be kited but depending on the environment, Ranged bosses can be widdled down with DoTs while LoS'ng behind pillars and walls.
  18. As a Scoundrel, I focus on Crit with some Power since I'm right up in their face and need to take em down quick. It would seem logical that a Gunslinger would want to focus on Power as you want your barrage of ranged blasts to do more steady and reliable dps.
  19. Mobs are typically linked so if you tranq one and attack the other, you'll have to kill the tranqu'ed enemy as well. If it's a really tight mob, I usually Tranq the closest to the wall and then pop Sneak before continuing.
  20. There is another way, same way I used to get to the Crash Site Datacron. Without giving too much away to the Imps, there is a means to sneak around the perimeter of the Imp Base that will drop you right onto the Republic border.
  21. Apple/Oranges I appreciate both games for what they excelled in. TOR- Great Story, Fleshed out Characters all with voice-acting, fast-paced action that feels more like an action game than turn-based queing of abilities and seemlessly blends some of the best elements of conventional MMO's and Mass Effect. SWG- Pretty much do whatever the heck you wanted with hardly any structure whatsoever and gameplay experience was only limited to the player's imagination and ambitions. Respectively, ToR can feel all too linear at times whereas SWG more than half the planets were devoid of players and often left a feeling of isolation when out questing or gathering resources and micromanaging cities, housing and harvestors could get to be a bit tedious.
  22. I've been here since EGA and have only just hit 34. I've done nearly every quest on Taris, Nar Shaddaa and Tatooine. I just finished the 1st Act in my class story and actually watch the cinematics and think about my responses before chosing. Am I doing something wrong?
