  1. (fyi: the bullet list styles seem to be borked in the new forum layout) you left off Don't log on, particularly if you logged off on fleet last week before the event started. Don't use a fleet pass Don't use the gtn on fleet Don't go pick up flashpoint or pvp dailies/weeklies.
  2. I think a couple of people have cited that as another of the immersion breaking things.... the government really isn't taking it very seriously based on the strength of the containment guards (especially for fleet and the capital)
  3. You're advocating to allow people to infect others who don't want to be infected and against having a reasonable way to avoid it ... that's advocating for griefing. If you're insulted by that... stop advocating for them.
  4. That's just the note I have on my list (I posted that at the end of the last thread, so I can quickly find it). The actual post is quite long. Aloro also had a good post as I recall last thread about the lack of realism, specifically realted to the lack of realistic response of the government in game. (edit and I see he has added another copy of it just a few posts back)
  5. Some of one, all of the other. Then stop advocating for them... and people won't lump you in with them.
  6. Taylora had a good post about it on the last thread. hmm, search seems to be borken, so I can't search for it. The note I see from my list of people is Talorya: The "plague" part where people stand around is a bit odd though there's a couple of other good posts out there about it. I'm not talking about how I dislike Rakghouls in star wars in general; I'm talking about the immersion breaking parts of the plague event in and of itself that have been pointed out by several people over the last couple of days.
  7. No, it's definitely true. No, the people that are griefing other players and laughing about doing so are griefing other players.
  8. Sure it was ... It's kind of absurd of you to claim that it wasn't griefing; I was there, you weren't. aside from not logging in the well known slowness of Bioware to deal with anything, and the fact that they never tell you the results of such a report? It's not like I'd know anything even if I had reported them. Instead I just logged off in disgust; I wasn't willing to deal with that, and I shouldn't have to be the server police because the developer can't be bothered to.
  9. "roleplaying" is never a valid excuse for griefing. I didn't; I took the fleet pass and headed to the GTN, just like any other day. They're easy to miss. Actually, several RPers have pointed out that "this kind of thing" totally immersion breaking ...
  10. No, based on their chat, I'm quite sure that they were. You get less "trolololol" out of people who aren't trying to grief you, for a start. Yes, we know... the mechanics encourage griefing. That doesn't make their actions ok.
  11. There's also the ones that run over to the GTN terminals to explode, to catch people who have their screen taken up by UI windows. And the ones standing at the fleet pass entry point, to catch the people as they zone in. And the ones divebombing from the lounge And the ones going to Tyhon to infect the little n00blets etc. the even encourages griefing. I'm not sure why you continue to advocate for the griefers. To prevent myself from being impacted by the plague in the warzone. This might come as a shock to you... but I've done warzones with a single death. Nor am I going to get a warzone queue pop immediately after being infected; it will take X minutes. Nor is the death at 20 minutes the only thing about the plague that can impact my performance in a warzone. So I need to use one for every warzone that I run, since I'll be stunned at (10-X) minutes and die at (20-X) minutes.
  12. My suggestions do not impact your fun in any way unless you're a griefer. If you claim that my suggestions will inhibit your fun (and several people have, even if you personally haven't), then you are indeed a griefer. Seems pretty cut and dry. the event itself encourages this behavior. People asking for bioware to not add future events that encourage griefing, and for a way to opt out of the griefing.
  13. THat doesn't help when they're sitting on the zone in from the fleet pass. Or when they're standing on the pvp terminals. Or when they dive bomb you from the vip lounge.
  14. indeed, those people are really irritating. Laughing in general chat and all the insults when people complain about what they're doing. No, I zoned in and was infected before I had finished loading in.
  15. I don't think that's reasonable. I mean, it's what I'm doing... it's just not a reasonable to expect people to not log in for a week because the developer can't be bothered to add in a valid opt out mechanic (ie, stims that persist through death so that people doing warzones can actually avoid it without forking over ~20k or more a day). Note, your original suggestion to opt out by participating in the event still makes 0 sense; this followup suggestion doesn't really make any more sense.
  16. it's a ploy to keep people from unsubbing who are on the fence. basically, it makes this next billing cycle bogo... rather than just getting a free month.
  17. bullet lists styles do not work correctly. ordered lists styles do work correctly.
  18. .... you're saying that you can opt out .... by participating? how does that make any sense?
  19. No, a number of the folks who "hate on it" would be please with an event that wasn't rakghouls centric... and an even larger number would be pleased with it as long as they had a reusable stim that persisted through death, preferably either cheap or free.
  20. You're talking about how folks got called griefers for what some people think is griefing, right? I'm talking the same thing... we won't know for sure until the next event if there's any positive result from that or not. If the next event has either no way that it can be used for griefing a way to opt out in such a way that it can't be used as griefing. then it's quite possible that it might have something good come of it.
  21. I think Elhanan has been calling the people who advocate griefing griefers... I mean, if you're going to claim that we're trying to stop your fun, and the only result of what we're asking for is to stop people from intentionally infecting people who do not want to be infected then you're advocating for the griefers. Now... if you think what Elhanan is doing is against the forum rules, report those posts.
  22. I didn't disagree; but it's not as important as doing what I can to prevent such abuses in the future. No, the results of these discussions have yet to be seen. It'll probably be a month or more before we see whether it leads to anything good or not.
  23. I'd rather they not make events that encourage that behavior. So posting on the forums is just as important.
  24. the darksaber shows up in the clone wars tv series, so it's T-Canon.
  25. You mean like the guys who were clustered around the pvp terminal and laughing general chat about how they were infecting all the <redacted> who were trying to pvp? And the guy who was laughing about how he was going to tython to infect the noobz. Yes. particularly the ones that responded with a variant of "trololol" when people asked them to stop.
