    We Hate Huttball

I agree with both. Huttball is the most tactical map. You really have to watch your and the enemies' positioning. I guess that's why people don't like it.
  2. now that i am lvl 50 and centurion /champion, i would like to say that things have changed, but it is not the case. i've read the forums to improve my gameplay and honestly i really don't feel like i am playing badly, i even don't panic when focussed, but : - why have i got that impression that i do less damage than the others? i mean, much less. If you want I can send you screenies of me doing >300k gm in wz (Lvl 50, mixed PvP gear, Sniper MM = GS SS build, PUG). I can also send you some from other players using hybrid builds doing about 460k - 480k dmg. But dmg doesn't tell anything. I have a screenshots of a whole enemy premade BM team completely outhealing and -damaging my team and still we (PUG) won. Important is what you hit. - why have i got that impression that it is really easy for any other class to kill us, when we have hard time trying to kill them? Don't know. Usually Sorcs and Marauders die easily. Give Sorcs an armor debuff and it feels like cutting/shooting through paper. Interrupt their heals/dots depending on specc. Root, knockback, stun Marauders. Hunker down and put Freighter Flyby on top op you. Give them reduced accuracy skill from SS tree. If you burst them down from 20% health chances are big they won't even be fast enough to use their "godmode". - Am i the only one to have that impression that as soon as i am focussed my libebar is empty in less than ten seconds? Not to mention those invisible guys that pop in your back : i think i never survived against one of them without any heal/help. Run away if possible (Huttball). Use defensive cds. Use accuracy reduction skill from SS tree if you got. Riot sreen helps too but tends to make you a target for nearby enemies. If by getting focused you mean "attacked by 3 or more enemies" I am sry. There's no real solution for that as no class can beat 3 other players (if they aren't low on hp or taking a break and making coffee). Just try to avoid these situations if possible. For soundrels/operative: Pray your cc breaker is off cd (else: You usually are dead as every clever guy will stunlock you. Use it and kick/debiliate them. Legshot. Now run. Sit down. Hunker down and (optionally) freighter flyby on top of you. Wait. Usually they restealth. If not start bursting them. If they do wait. With Hunker down their attack wont drop you to the ground. Knockback. Shoot. Stun. If you didnt use freighter flyby now is definitely the time. so what? Reading the forums shown me something else : we are the only class with that much people trying to understand how to play to have as much fun (survavibility/damage) than the other classes, or QQing like me. tell me then : - why don't we see bh/sorc/mara QQing? They do complain. Even before the patchnotes for 1.2 were published. Just have a closer look at the forums. But arguing because someone else does/doesn't do something you should/shouldn't as well isn't really a proof for anything. People complain like they breath: habitually and constantly. But you NEED to breath to live - We are meant to be a pure dps class, ok? Why are we unable to reach the 400k dmg per bg that the bh/mara/sorc are reaching easily? Easily is a quite an exaggeration. For dmg of GS see my first answer. I mostly do pvp and i NEVER saw any gs reaching 300k dmg in any bg, but LOTS of bh/sorc/mara... (talkin for my server wich has the biggest pvp community of my country). Well its your server so you should know better than me. On mine there's usually not more than 1 or 2 above 300k. - why are we the only class that cannot tank or heal and have no godmode button? Because we are pure dps. And we can deny others the use of their godmode. - why is this class so few played? I mean, seriously? Main reason (my opinion): Ppl don't want to use their brain. Sniper/GS is an extremely tactical class. E.g. you need to foresee where the enemy team and the ballhandler in Huttball will be some seconds later and position yourself according. Snipers/GS "rule" Huttball if correctly played (ever hunkered down on a platform and knocked down ballhandler and 3 teammates when they passed ? Used freighter flyby in front of a fire where ballhandler wanted to stand waiting for clear passage ? Knocked ballhandler back into fire/rooted him there ?). Think someone called us area denial class or something like that. Definitely true. It seems to me other classes are way easier to master than Sniper/GS (see the second posted link for a nice picture). Especially our tm/gravround spamming "friends". I just want the truth about this class, i want to face it an to stop hoping that better gear, better spec, better tips on how to play will change anything, because as far as i saw for now, it doesn't. It does. I was extremely frustrated when I hit 50 too. BM premades running rampant in wzs can really kill your fun. I was thinking about quitting game till 1.2 would hit. I got over it. Sniper is too much fun. And it got better every piece of Champion PVP armor I bought. Just get over the point when you ask yourself "Is it worth this frustration?". Again: It is. I believe some of you are playing really really well and are very well stuffed, but still : what the point of the gunslinger if you have to be a prodigy to enjoy it when any couch potatoe can play and enjoy any other class so easily (compared to the gunslinger)? Because being part of an uncreative mass that believes everything they are told and want a world made of easy (black-and-white-)decisions never appealed to me. And the reward for playing a GS/Sniper is simply wonderful. Working hard makes you appraise the positive result even more. A statistic is just plain numbers and never tells you about real life/game. It's a sum up of 15 min. And in my opinion a bad one. Never trust a statistic you didn't forge yourself. And now some nice guides I personally consider obligatory for any Sniper/GS whether they are MM/SS or not. There are other but as I play a MM/SS build I know only these. Smacks guide to Sharp Shootin' http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=219738 FlyinFungi's Marksman Sniper PvP Guide http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/Thread-FlyinFungi-s-Marksman-Sniper-PvP-Guide-More-Pew-Pew-Less-QQ In the unlikely case you speak German: Anduin's Sniper PvP Guide http://www.swtor.com/de/community/showthread.php?t=271876 Long post. Took me a long time. Should you find any spelling or grammar mistakes feel free to use them yourself. Hope I was able to help you a bit.
  4. Got the same gun, but it is called Imperial Officers Sniper Rifle. If I remember correctly I got it from the PvP Weapons Vendor.
  5. Bit confused now...doesn't the info for TECH say that Accuracy increases the chance that Tech Attacks affect the target and that Accuracy over 100% decreases the targets's resistance to Tech Attacks ?
  6. Why do I play an Operative ? Because it's great in PvP. I don't understand why people complain about Operative gameplay. Doing not enough damage ? I play a concealment specc (4/32/5 ). When I look at the screenshots I have made of match results (and I got many of them) I can't see other classes regularly dealing more than 300k dmg. My average dmg is between 200 and 300k in a full game (Champion Enforcer Equip). I usually finish top of my team and very often top 3 of the whole list (though I don't consider medals an appropriate way to measure usefullness of a player in a wz). I rarely use Cloaking screen for re-attacking but often for making a quick escape out of a tight spot. An Operative should avoid jumping into a fight without (almost) full hp as they are too fragile for that. In Huttball our job simply isn't carrying the ball from the middle to the goal line. The advantage of an Operative is that you are able to pick your fights (usually). So I often pull out of a fight after I killed someone to get the chance to restealth. Concerning the shortage of energy: As long as I keep my Stim Boost up I run out of energy only in very long fights. I can't talk about healing as an Operative but from my own experience in trying to kill an Operative healer I think they are just as good as sorcs and you need quite some time and all of your skills not on cd to kill them. And to make this post not too much off topic: Being a class that isn't played by the mainstream (guess most thief classes aren't) was one of my main reasons to roll an Operative. The story we have is really great. I love being the non-force user killing all this lightsaber-wielding Sith and Jedi guys by backstabbing them with my vibroknife. And we do have really cool companions. The class is not easy to play (no tracer missile spamming ) though I don't know whether other classes are easier. If you find any grammar or spelling mistakes you can keep them and reuse them.
