  1. When I tank in PvP, I'm a PT Tank and I use a full set of Tank gear. I'm not there to get fancy kills. I'm there to keep the healer alive. I'll shield them and start dropping Taunts on anyone that gets close to wail on them. That's what tanking is. You're a meatshield, not a killer. If you want to do some damage, change to a DPS spec.
  2. If anything, I'd like to see an NPC that begs for affection. If your first instinct is to reject them or tell them to get off your ship, and they are desperate to be with you, you'd think they'd take all sorts of stupid risks to endear themselves to you and be approved by you. If you're going to kick the puppy, either its going to run off to another master or keep on coming back and looking to please until you stop kicking it.
  3. Okay, since people don't know about this, I'll inform you as to how to do Cadimemu: 1. The rockets on the final boss are tied to his health bar - the faster you dps him, the faster the rockets will fire. I have done the mission several times as a 50 to walk through some lower levels, and I actually have to stop dpsing him completely and let the lower levels do it because if I start in, the rockets will fire faster than it takes the initial one to stop firing, ending up with all rockets going off at the same time. tldr: Don't DPS if you're overlevel by 5 or more. EDIT: I have not tried this with a 50 since the patch, so possibly we'll be able to DPS him down properly now, as 15 sec is more than enough time for a rocket to run out of juice. 2. I died and the room is now on fire! That's a bug. You either need to leave the instance after entering it the first time, then go back in again to get it to stop, OR send in one party member through the doors to burn to death, and then rez him. After it kills one person, with the rest in the hallway, the fire will stop automatically with you all still in the instance. tldr: Leave and rejoin the instance or let 1 person die in the room before bringing the rest of the group in.
  4. As a heavy duty crafter, I find it extremely time consuming to have to shuffle various discovery missions and crafting materials from character to character through loads of emails. Now that the Legacy system has been created to link all our characters together, have you put any thought into creating a "Legacy Bank" that we can store our massive amount of crafting materials in so each character can craft from this communal bank? On each character I have at least one hangar bay devoted to the character's crafting profession, and I'd really love to see something to streamline the crafting process and allow us to free up more room for other items.
  5. I'm playing both classes right now. Snipers kill things fast. That's your only defense is to kill the enemies as fast as possible. Operatives have a lot of smaller burst damage, and can choose how to engage via stealth. If things are bad, you can activate an insta-stealth move which disengages you from combat. Saved me more than a few times. Neither class is built for survivability, which is why Kaliyo is a tank. Sniping will let you easily pick the range of your engagements and dish out a ton of damage. You just need to out-dps the enemy.
  6. On both my 50s I had hit 49 by the time I hit Voss. On Belsavis I usually burn through 47-48 easily. By the time I hit 40 I have such a huge green buffer of bonus exp built up that I can do my regular logoffs in cantinas and not worry about ever completely exhausting that buffer if I decide to log off in the field a few times. Having run through Voss as a Healer w/ NPC tank and a Tank with NPC healer, I've encountered no issues with doing the planet's missions. Though I must point out that I tend to pvp while I mission, which accounts for the extra exp gain. Not everyone pvps, and I also do the bonus missions (if they aren't greyed out) on planets, as well as any other extra missions.
  7. /me looks at thread. /me reads and realizes the extent of the issue. /me nods. Okay. I'm sorry. Calling you a 'whiner' was a bit too harsh, and I apologize. Normally when I hear "exploits" being called out, I think of valid and unconventional uses of already in the game abilities. I haven't seen these exploits you've mentioned, and I'd like to see proof of them in the future so Bioware can have some hard evidence. In the meantime, I have apologized on the internet. But behind this keyboard, I am also slightly embarrassed. Take that as you will.
  8. If you're going to come on the forums and whine about it, you obviously are concerned. So then take some vids of it and document it properly rather than through "word of mouth" and show some proof. Then we'll take you at face value and it can be fixed. But your unsubstantiated claims don't help yourself or anyone else. Either put some effort into bringing the problem to light by showing evidence or shut up and deal with it.
  9. Hey, at least you're not Artifice. Can't sell lvl 50 crystals at all. People have undercut them down to 40k each currently on my server. Not even worth it anymore.
  10. Hey. Sorc Healer here. Crit/Surge PvE build with mostly Columni/Rak gear that is startin' to earn his BM pieces. I see a ton of complaints on these forums about how Healers can't handle the damage and how their heals are "ineffective"... Quit your whining. I've been healing in PvP with barely any expertise for a long time, and I'll let you know that if a Healer can stand up to a 2v1 fight and survive, then either the two attackers don't know how to play or your spec is completely wrong. What are the two things Sorcs can do? DPS or Healers. We are meant to be tissue paper, people. That's why we get a tank to start with in our storyline! Sure, its annoying to be taken down by DPS and be marked every single fight, but we're an essential part of the team - we keep everyone else alive, and keep on throwing our bodies into the mix so the rest can keep on fighting! We aren't meant to be able to keep people surviving while they are getting hammered on by more than one other player. If the enemy is smart enough to take out other players by focusing DPS, then we better have more than one healer on our side. The only way you're going to survive for an extended period in PvP is if you've got a Tank guarding you and a back up healer keeping you alive. Or you manage your LoS properly and people aren't smart enough to target you. So quit your whining and suck it up and deal with it. You're making the rest of us capable healers look bad.
  11. No, he's on a 3 hour timer I think. The giant Rakgoul is an insanely long timer.
  12. If you had an active sub by that date, you get one. Not sure if lvl 50 comes into account. Anyway. You'll be getting mails up until the 24th. After that, you can rage.
  13. Yeah. My completely Tionese fitted Ashara just had a massive power drop. Not to mention my own stat changes.
  14. I alternate between a full Madness Spec and a full Healing spec. Playing Healing in PvP after 1.2, its more challenging, yes, and I'm more squishy. But that's alright. I'm fine with that. I'm a healer after all, and I should be squishy. I can't depend on my Dark Infusion all the time anymore, but I'm still using my Innervate constantly. If things go crazy, I drop my AoE Revivification, start Innervating the Tank, and then start using Dark Infusion while Innervate cools down. If it gets really bad, I start throwing around Dark Heal to whoever needs it, but that bleeds my force fast. To clarify, I'm using a Crit+Surge spec. With a buff from an Agent, I end up with a crit rate between 38.9% and 41.2% depending on my mods. My Crit multiplier ends up in the upper 60s, lower 70s percent. Innervate is my most powerful single person heal, since it heals throughout the duration of the channel and regularly crits to 1.4-1.5k for each burst. I think its 4 "bursts" per use, so that's easily over 5k. Honestly, the no health loss Consumption before the patch was an obvious glitch. I could last entire fights in PvP and PvE without ever running out of Force if I was careful to constantly use my Innervate after I dropped a large heal. Having it affect our health normally without retarding our Force regeneration rate is fair play - just drop your large AoE heal at your feet or have another healer boost you periodically. ----- Haven't tried Madness post 1.2 yet, but it looks about the same. Tests on PTS had it clocking in at 1.2k DPS. Not bad for focus against a single target in PvE, but Lightning is preferred against PvP for the instant damage. Though notably I see a Lightning/Madness hybrid for that. ----- Why do we need alricity? Shortens our cast times. I can pop Revivication off in 1.8 seconds. Dark Heal in 1.2-1.4. Allows us to heal more in the same amount of time as another healer. We aren't supposed to be inexhaustible batteries of life. We're supposed to keep the team alive. Why so little armor? We aren't a tank. We aren't meant to survive under fire for long periods of time. Hell, our first companion is Khem, a TANK. Playing through the story as a healer, my job was to keep him alive while he drew all the fire on him. That's always been the role of the healer. Why only three targets for the Death Field? That's a 1.4k Instant Damage attack. That returns health as well for each target struck. Make it 8, and that's more powerful than any AoE attack in the game. It also regularly crits to 2.4k for me. And then that would apply the Deathmark, and you start piling on your dots for extra damage.
  15. From the Patch Notes: Players can now remove Armoring modifications that have set bonuses from items and transfer those set bonuses to Custom (orange) items. These modifications can only be transferred to an item that is equipped in the same slot. This does not apply to all items with a set bonus, only those where the set bonus is attached to the Armoring modification. --- So... Tionese gear, for example, has a set bonus. It was moved to the Armoring mod, correct? When I moved the armoring mod to my orange gear, it showed that it transferred the set bonus to my orange gear. And to clarify, this was brand new Tionese gear that I purchased after the patch was implemented. So, has my set bonus really transferred? Or is that just a ghost?
  16. Okay. Were Tionese and Columni gear devalued statwise? I've noticed stat drops on my characters. Also, the one thing I wanted for this patch - the only thing - was to be able to pull out set bonus armorings and stick them in my orange gear. After bankrupting myself with pulling out the armoring mods of all the Tionese gear I just spent my hoarded crystals on, I hear that the set bonus doesn't really transfer over. Major letdown. Also, Rakata Relics are STILL BIND ON EQUIP for Artifice. What's up with that? That's a great moneymaker! I guess this is good in flashpoints. Who knows.
  17. A solid point. Most of my movement key binding has been with my healer, which is a stationary role. Though mainly its been there to try to get me to be less dependable on the movement keys and moreso on movement via the mouse. End up just moving forward constantly with the keyboard and changing directions with the mouse. Though I do need to find a better way to target instead of constantly mouseclicking, though it does seem that the Concealment role is to pick off stragglers.
  18. Ah. I rebound my movemement keys to E, S, F for Forwards, Strafe Left, S- Right. Gives me less access to the ALT key, and instead of using the D key to go backwards I've used it as a Stealth/Crouch key. Opens up the A, W, Q keys on the left and the R,T,Y,G,V keys for more combat themed movements. I've also started Shift binding my movement keys to other attacks to keep everything centered around my hand with the least movement.
  19. Having just started playing a Concealement OPs to explore the fun of stealthing, I have to say "Thanks." for a good guide. And advice for keybinds? I've found that I've been good with binding similar attacks to a single key with its Shift (and if I can stretch that pinky, CTRL) so I can drop two or three attacks like Stun+Shiv+Backstab almost all at once. Also, as a DPS, what is better? Purely increasing Power and Crit? Or Crit and Surge Rating?
  20. I just realized that the robe has the large butt issue. My male inquisitor's protruding posterior is not flattering!
  21. As a Healer, my best strategy on Voidstar is standing away from the door on assault, droppping all my heals and shields on myself and drawing fire from half the team as we sneak stealth behind them to plant on the door. Works almost every time.
  22. I've been a healer for a long time and recently changed to a Madness DPS spec. Nothing is easier than this spec when taking down a single target. Just cast death field and pile on your three main dots. Death Field > Mind Crush > Madness > Fear > Lightning > Repeat after cooldowns. Forget the names. One's green, one's orange, and one's red. Death Field puts on that beautiful damage bonus, stack on the three dots and watch your cooldown as you spam lightning from your fingertips with no cooldown time and a 2.7 sec channel. Watch in amazement as the Lightning lets your next attack require no preptime, and then instantly cast Death Field and your three dots on your hapless target as you rinse and repeat. That's all you need as everything dies pretty fast underneath your salvo. For keybinds I have: Death Field = G Mind Crush (Red icon) = R Fear (Orange icon) = T Madness (Green icom) = Y Lightning (w/ channel time) = Shift+R That's it. Just cycle those keys and you're on easy street.
  23. I'm an OP, but the keys can be interchangable for sniping as well. Just change the abilities to the keys you prefer. My movement keys are: Forward = E Left strafe = S Right strafe = F No backwards Stealth is D, Crouch is Shift + D. G is Shiv, Shift + G is Backstab R is basic fire, Shift+R is Snipe (I did have it as R = snipe, Shift+R = Explosive Probe) T is the poison dart, Shift + T is the 4 sec melee stun Y is the AoE detonator, Shift+Y is flash bomb. I find that binding similar abilities to the same key helps to cycle through my attacks faster. V and Z are also easily accessible to bind.
