  1. It is the same for every class. The Smuggler's claim to have a universal battle cry now: "Dammit, Corso!" Some companions have the worst defaults possible and they reset constantly. Going down an elivator? Better check your pet's skills afterwards. It is a constant process. But on the good side, I have learned to turn the AoE's on and off as needed for almost every group and do it quickly.
  2. Qyzen has two damaging AoE abilities. I don't remember what they are called, but it is NOT the flare gun; that one is an AoE taunt and does no damage so it should stay on all the time. Of the two damageing AoE attacks, one will default to on, the other off. Turn them both off and make it a habit to check this every time before a pull where you are going to use Lift. Any time he respawns for any reason (zoning in, coming back from selling, you get off the speeder and others) it will revert to their default usage. Watch for patroling mobs and be careful with your pulls. At 38 it should not be difficult. [ETA] Just in case you missed it somewhere .. Hit ` to toggle your companions full ability bar. It will expand to replace your second hot button bar. Right-click to toggle the different skills on or off. When done, hit ` again to go back to normal button view.
  3. When equiping the big lizard, remember that Aim is his primary stat. You may be thinking of stacking Endurance like most other games, but he gets more for Aim in all cases. A healer/tank combo is solid and reliable but it is not going to be fast. Find a comfortable pace and keep it. Pushing too hard leads to high energy use and a slow rate of return. Maintain 60% or better will be less downtime in the long run than trying to burn down mobs fast. I do not use Project unless it is a finishing move or I want to cast something on the move. Once the weak mobs are dead I back off doing damage and just keep dots going on any strong or better mobs. Also, I stun any time it is up since it will prevent damage for 4 seconds. At level, it may take 2 minutes to kill elites or phase bosses but if you keep a slow and steady pace, you will end the fight at 80%+ health and energy for both you and you companion both. No deaths and no downtime. There are a few specialty encounters where you need to just go full burn in a DPS race but those are few.
  4. I may be late coming to the thread but ... The drop is actually 3 items. The gloves, the mod and the enhancement. 2 of those three are healer gear. One has a secondary bonus of +acc. If the shadow wants it so badly, pull the Enhancement, give it to the shadow and socket somthing that suits you better. Problem solved. Yes, you have the right to roll on the item. If it is an upgrade, roll.
  5. What build are you using for your slinger? I can tell you that a sharpshooter will be kind of average until you get Trick Shot at 30 and then picks up a little more every few levels as you get the rest of your attack skills.
  6. Ah, I have never seen it happen with out a reason (debuff or on terrain that can not handle it) but then I do not pvp with my smuggler.
  7. Don't wait for the animation. When the timer ends, start the next attack.
  8. If you get hit with a debuff like Diversion, you will not be able to drop cover.
  9. Yawn. Cookie cutter sap build. Why not just say that instead of all the epeen stroking?
  10. I save it for the melee guy that closes in on me. I love getting an explosive kick to the groin off followed by a Head Shot.
  11. Spec: Pick the ones that do more damage. It is not too hard to figure out, really. There are a few guides written and most have reliable info. The biggest debate is over whether to go with Burst Volly or not. In the end it mattters very little. The increase with 3/3 in BV is minmimal but you have to put points somewhere to continue on with the tree. Whether or not you take BV will not gimp your character at all, so don't sweat it too much. Companions: Corso until Risha. Risha until Guss. In fact, keep Corso's equipment up to date even when using Risha because there are times you need a good tank and/or the harpoon. Other advice: the best cash generating crew skill is Slicing. [ETA] As far as SS or Sab ... I have not played Sab past about level 20 so I really can not compaire the two.
  12. Agreed. It is a bleed effect for a different build and not something that sharpshooters worry much about.
  13. Natural cover is broken with regards to any skill with a charge up time. [ ] Enable Cover Bar ... will not stay cleared. Companion skill use will not stay toggeled. All AoE's, throws and pulls should be off by default but that is not really a bug. C2-N2 needs a personality swap with that driod on Alderaan ....
  14. When accepting a mission: "Keep talking ... I'll stop you once I have calculated my fee."
