  1. Ok just to get this out of the way first. 1. I do play a corruption sorc atm and honestly they are fine with the minor exception that they need a defensive CD other than knock back. 2. I was a 5x Gladiator in WoW on a marksman hunter and feral druid. The reasons sorcs seem to get ripped apart so much faster than the other healers is easy to explain. 1. Cloth armor. The lowest armor mitigation in game. May not seems like much but any melee hit is going to do roughly 20-30% more dmg on cloth than on heavy armor and 10-20% vs medium. 2. Lack of a proper defensive CD. Bubble and knock back are NOT defensive CDs. 3. Mobility. We can run around all we want. We aren't healing while doing that as our HoT is laughable at best and all of our other heals either have cast times or are channeled. In the end you need to find a tank to guard you and peal attackers off. A sorc/sage healer with a decent pvp tank is viable on any map. You will still get focused but you can live a lot longer than without said tank.
  2. Not completely against arenas but I do keep thinking of the Blizzard Dev interveiw where they admitted implementing arenas was 1 of they worst mistakes they made from a balancing stand point. It creates 10x the work and 10x the buff/nerf whining. I'd just be happy with Rated WZs and if people really want to death match they can go to smugglers den. Set up some server wide tourneys if you feel that rateds don't go far enough to show who the best is.
  3. Has anyone mentioned that the WoW developers stated in an interveiw that adding arenas and turning it into an Esport was one of the worst choices they made? Strictly from a balancing issue it makes 10x the work for the developers, like they need more work since they've obviously fixed all the ingame issues already, not too mention EA/BW laid off 300 people so far this year (no word on how many devs). From a CS stand point the forums are already filled with buff/nerf threads. If arenas were put in it would be much much worse. Hardcore PvPers do think differently than PvE players and will jump to the next big game that has competetive PvP rather quickly *cough cough Guild Wars 2*. Honestly what would have saved this game is if EA had listened when BW stated that SWTOR would not be ready for release until may 2012. They needed the time to balance classes, fix bugs, and polish the game. EA pushed the release and this is what you get. Arenas will not save this game and honestly would only keep PvPers interested for a little longer.
  4. While in Novare Coast someone guarding east had this advice for the people at west right after they capped it. "everyone get in the west bunker and AoE spam" Yes the brain deads listen and were range nuked into oblivian.
  5. Do you also call out the DPS/tank that left the healer as the only person guarding that turret? How about stating that the healer isn't helping the team by not healing everyone else because they were left at the node/turret by the rest of the team that is chasing their medals? It's a 2 way street. If you want heals you can't leave the healer sitting at a node doing nothing and giving them a chance to consume their life just to make the 5k heal medal or the 75k.
  6. And this would be my choice for QFT. Personally I want you to bring your sniper the Jedi Covenant, I know a lot of people that would very much enjoy schooling you in PvP on just how bad PvE gear is for WZs.
  7. Obviously you don't play on my server then lol. We have 2-3 healers per side per match and those that PvP are very competetive. I can't even remember the last time I saw someone in PvE gear in the top 5 or have less than 10 deaths. If your PvP on your server is that lax then do what you feel like, but the numbers I listed are hard facts and in any real competetive PvP Columi/Rakata will not cut it.
  8. Let me see if I can explain this in a way that you'll understand. I will use the current expertise #s from my vanguard since I won't have to do amy real math that way. 1209 expertise = 22.85% Damage boost on players in PvP 18.60% Damage reduction from players in PvP 12.63% Healing boost during PvP combat Now let say you had the exact same expertise as I do, if I hit you, you would take my dmg boost minus your dmg reduction and get a 4.25% increase in dmg against players. With 0 expertise (ie raid gear) you would take the full 22.85% dmg boost. From a healers stand point (I know you are a sniper so bare with me) the healing boost from their gear + the dmg reduction from your gear make it easier for the healer to keep you and the rest of the team alive. In the end PvE raid gear is for PvE. Recruit, Battle Master and War Hero gear are for PvP. If you are entering PvP in raid gear yes expect your team to laugh at the least, more likely the healers will decide you aren't worth healing as you don't care to even get the minimal (recruit gear) dmg reduction and the opposing team when they notice they are hitting you for ungodly amounts will spread the word to other players and you will spend more time dead than alive
  9. It would really be too easy to name the guild you are talking about. I have had several chances to observe the same behavior from them. Honestly I would say put them all on ignore (I actually did that in 1 WZ where there was 4 of them on my team) and either report them everytime they pull their crap or just leave the game.
  10. Vanguard equipment is End/Aim for tank and Aim/End for DPS. Even as a melee tank Tanno Vik benefits more from aim than strength. As stated in another post troop companions all were heavy armor with aim as their main stat. So any item you would replace on your character you could give to a companion if it is better than what they are wearing.
  11. Really... you realize that they were nerfed hard and you play a classed considered OP by many right? I would say that you have some learning or respecing to do.
  12. Yup I'm still logged into the game but then again I have 5 more days of paid play time. I did unsub but I will get all of the time I paid for. BW has proven that they are almost as big a failure as SoE and I refuse to support them by paying for this game or any other they release.
  13. Thank you BW for the great big F*&K YOU. Made my choice for me as I've unsubbed today and won't be back.
  14. Here is my current rig, it runs SWTOR maxed on all settings and I almost never have FPS issues. CPU - AMD 965 BE OCed to 4.1 Mobo - Gigabyte AM3+ Ram - 16 gig Corsair Vengence DDR3 1600 GPU - Galaxy GTX 560 ti PSU - Cooler Master 1000 watt CPU cooling - Corsair Hydro H60 Case Fans - Scythe Ultra Kaze x2 (configured for push/pull on the H60s cooling core) HDD - WD 1 terabyte Caviar Black All total from Newegg.com this build will run less than 900 and under 1000 if you decide to go with the AMD FX series 8 core CPU.
  15. I must be doing something wrong as i am continually losing threat to a sentinel (watchman spec) in our FP HMs and Ops HMs. I always have him guarded but even with keeping Slow Time and Force Breach on CD he still rips threat off me and I have to burn a taunt. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I am the GM and main tank of our second raid group.
