  1. I think the real question is.... why do you need it? You can lvl just as fast now as you could back (ok maybe SLIGHTLY slower, but not noticeably) then I find if you do your planetary hcs (which actually you don't really need to do if you're skipping them every alternate planet or so and using the free exp boosts you get...)
  2. I just want to highlight two things here..... 1-You're saying that you think WoW has more Lore than SWTOR?!? Obviously you have absolutely NO CLUE as to what lore really means then because the Star Wars universe has a HELL of a lot more lore in it than the WoW universe (you can compare books, fan-fictions, comics, etc and easily come to this conclusion).... thats just such a silly point it doesn't even begin to make sense as a reason 2-So you think mages, paladins, death knights, warlocks, priests, monks etc wielding magical weapons and armour (while being able to invent guns, cannons, aircraft and submarines) and continents situated on the back of a giant sea turtle is more realistic than space ships, blasters and high-technology? Ok.... that word realistic doesn't mean what you think it means (even those things like the Force, stealth, etc have explinations beyond "magic") Also as i've already highlighted, you don't need to sub to play SWTOR so they are not mutually exclusive games (furthermore if you're paying real money for the WOW sub after you've hit lvl cap you're literally throwing money away as you should be able to earn enough gold to buy tokens for game time soon after capping 100)
  3. issue is at the moment there are only certain companions you can unlock right now and as the expansion progresses you'll be able to unlock more. (i.e. on my jugger at the moment I've only got one of my original companions back)
  4. So... based upon your original post.... you prefer EVERYTHING about WoW over SWTOR except for the storyline? In which case, the next question is, why not play both? You can access the full original lvl 1-50 storyline in SWTOR for free so why are you acting as if you're forced to choose between the 2?
  5. No it really isn't that surprising and I don't really see why you're finding it so hard to grasp this basic concept. It was always said and 'sold as' the idea that you'd get a lvl 60 without having to DO the lvl 1-50 storyline chapters, not that you had DONE them. Achievements, funnily enough, are awarded to those that achieve things in the game... spending money on buying a lvl 60 isn't an achievement its a shortcut (i'm not slandering ppl who use those tokens btw, merely pointing out the difference). If you want to earn things like the legendary achievement, etc, you'll need to EARN them, not BUY them.
  6. Just to clarify, is this above thread being made from a PvP or PvE perspective? I just wish to know because i've always prefered Burst over sustained DPS (even if sustained is 'better' in longer PvE fights... i prefer spiky big numbers to overall better damage... and i often find burst>sustained for lvling as well)
  7. 1-Pretty sure they said from the outset that you only get early access if you subscribed back at the beginning of August (the 10th I believe it was). 42 days only puts you at the beginning of September. 2-They also stated you'd not get the SoR release until the latest expansion fully releases, so tying that in with the above comment thats why you're stuck at 55 for now. 3-It really doesn't take long at all to get from lvl 55-60. 4-We are all struck by the Server downtimes (though so far there have only been 2, one Tuesday and one today) 5-Games take time to upload updates. So either leave your PC logged into the launcher so it does so while you're at work or get a better internet connection. 6-BW has no need to refund your money since you would have 'lost' the game time to updates regardless AND its not their fault if you didn't subscribe in time to qualify for early access. 7-If you REALLY can't wait another 5 days to start lvling from 55-60 then buy SoR expansion for around £11.99
  8. No offense.... but YOU@RE FRIGGIN SITH!!! All Sith do is kill their masters! What did you think would happen at the end? that you'd run off with your master skipping into the sunset holding hands? Granted he should have put a spoiler tag on it, BUT, it doesn't change the fact that if you couldn't guesss within 2 minutes how it would end then... i dunno you must have been raised in a cave or something to be so naive as to how Sith work To the OP, yes you went to the wrong PvP vendor. Did you never wonder why there are 4 sets of the identical quality vendors? OR that the gear with cunning looked completely different from all other Sith PvP armour?
  9. Doing your DAILY pvp however, is still worth it all the way up to 49. Basically if you want to maximize your exp gain per day you do your daily PvPs, FPs and Space missions, and then preferably ALWAYS do missions with 2 or more people except for your class mission series as you will clear content faster and gain more exp per kill in groups due to the group exp bonus.
  10. done it 4 times, twice in beta, twice after release. 2 times on each Sith class and i've never died doing it. Quite simply i used all my CD's and medpacks and i defeated it each time with AT LEAST 25% hp left, in fact on my warrior once i managed it with a comfortable 50% hp left. Sorry, its just obvious that you're not using the class to its full potential rather than the missions fault.
  11. Alderaan is before coruscant. You'll notice in the Alderaan clip the main 'sith (the surviving sith from the 1st intro clip) gets a grenade blow up in his face, ruining it. Not only does he survive the encounter of being thrown into a cliff he then goes onto lead the attack on coruscant personally. The resperator on his face at THIS point and from then onwards is because of the grenade blowing up half his face in the 2nd clip.
  12. Most rewards also give the option of commendations. You can use them to either buy companion gear since you don't want it OR chests for random stuff to sell OR mods to sell OR mods for your companions.... OR gear for yourself for the looks then upgrade the mods in it to make it useful to your actual level.
  13. Logitech G700 mouse and G13 gamepad here. Why the G700 mouse? because it feels great BUT because it 'only' has 4 additional buttons it doesn't overwhelm you unlike the Naga series which can result in you simply NOT using all the buttons for a while simply because you need to convert the way your brain thinks to using your fingers on your right hand more than you often would (plus its cheaper )
  14. So basically you skipped half of the game so far? No wonder you are always under-leveled. You do realize that the bonus missions, daily space missions, daily pvp missions, pvp and flashpoints all give HUGE Exp boosts as well as lots of credits and commendations right? As in the PvP gear is often a big upgrade to PvE gear available at the time, so is flashpoint gear.
  15. I was soloing Black Talon (Empire equiv) at lvl 11 on my Bounty Hunter. Granted i can heal and i've got a healer companion as well... however, if you're not bady geared you and your comp should be able to do it. Granted it would be easier if you had gone Sage but meh
  16. My game does exactly the same thing. I just tap the windows key to bring up the menu, then RE-click on the ToR game screen (since it doesn't fully minimize when you do this) this makes the mouse curor reappear.
  17. The only correct part of this review in the 'cons' list is the Auction House. But even then its not THAT clunky. If you're looking for an item you know by name you should know what TYPE of item it is i.e. a blaster, crafting item, schematic, etc. If you know THAT you just do a search in that subype THEN type in the specific name for the search to be whittled down further..... NOT THAT HARD. The crafting thing is simply a case of you clearly not knowing how to craft properly and/or IGNORING your codex and not picking up the necessary supporting skills. The lvling thing. Well i've never had gear problems, i kept all my gear up-to-date through commendations/flashpoints/leveling AND i prefer to be a couple of lvling above anyway for faster kills. On the money issue. Yes money was tight until i had my speeder skill at 25. However, AFTER that you don't have any more 'big' money sinks to save up for really (not ones that you NEED anyway), so, as a result i found the money just ceased to be a problem.
  18. Pff what Jedi Consular did YOU play? If you take all the darkside choices TRUST ME you get plenty of chances to be horrible, powerhungry, etc.... For those of you who did the jedi cons story at least till chapter 1 was ended.... i killed EVERYONE!!!! and that definitely did surprise me that they didn't think i was Sith :S. I would agree however, that the Sith story does seem to have a lot more 'urgency' to it, AND that as a Sith Warrior it REALLY does make you feel like a dark lord. Oh yeah and you can really learn to hate NPC'#s when they annoy you... as in picture-ramming-your-lightsaber-through-their-back hate....
  19. For me, coming from a harcore tanking background in WoW all the way from Classic MC40 through to ICC25 the real key difference is that in ToR you really aren't meant to be holding ALL the aggro for ALL mobs. CCing is vital and well-spread out through all the different AC's, so being able to delegate CC's is far more important than it became towards the end of WoW. Further more, weak and even strong mobs can die VERY quickly under sustained DPS attack, so, unless there are a LOT of them, they can effectively be ignored by tanks and simply burst down by DPS. As a result you're only looking at the gold/champion mobs as serious threats, which makes it a lot more managable. In this regard Sith Warrior tanking is very 'old school' You can use Smash and (later) sweeping strikes to build 'initial' threat on mobs to keep your healer safe... but after that it simply WON'T cut it. You HAVE to use single target abilities and, if necessary, tab between the various targets. The key here is co-ordination. If your DPS are attacking the same target, you should be able to hold threat unless they SEVERLY out-level you. I managed to hold threat on a champ mob with 2 DPS, both of which were 4 levels above me. The key thing to remember is that you get some of your best tanking abilities at the 35-40 band, or, to be more precise, tanking 'skills' in your skill tree. Thats when it really starts to come together. Remember, abilities like Backhand generate a LOT of threat, so if you're looking at 2-3 mobs you can do things like: Saber throw mob 1, charge mob 2, Smash, Backhand mob 3, Force Choke mob 1, Force Scream mob 2, etc etc. The whole point of e.g. that particular approach is that the saber throw builds initial threat on 1 target, the force charge on the second followed by a Smash to help with all 3 PLUS increase survivability. The backhand generates a LOT of threat on mob 3 which means you can focus on the other 2 for a sec. Force choke is instant cast with no channel if talented, so it helps build threat on the first mob through damage WHILE allowing you to build threat on the 2nd AND generates rage to help fuel your attacks. From there its simple a case of rotating through all 3 and rotating through your attacks as rage/CD's allow. For tanking i'd say i prefer the Sith Warrior the most. However, the easiest tank to use so far HAS to be the powertech. You get FAR more multi-target/AoE abilities earier on allowing you to easily hold threat over multiple targets, you still have heavy armour AND because you're ranged you can also not have to worry about enemy groups when some are ranged and some are melee.... EDIT: To answer the other questions... For stats i prefer a slightly higher emphasis upon End than Str, but i do NOT ignore str. You'll find that the 'guardian' mods are pretty much all you wanna aim for. They focus on End, then Str, and at later levels start to introduce shield/def boosting stats. So far i just go for a balance of both. I'd also say for solo play, you're not really MEANT to be able to easily solo content without a companion, because otherwise what'd be the point of having a companion?? If i remember correctly around 32-36 i had a bit of trouble with survivability for some weird reason, but once i got back into the 38+ band and 40+ band it came right back and my DPS seems to have increased noticably VS enemy mobs. The key thing here to remember is that, ideally for a smooth lvling experience you should aim to always be 2+ lvls ABOVE the content. Yes you can do it AT lvl, but if you have those additional 2 lvls or so it really does become a lot smoother. And with all the dailies and masses of missions etc to do it really shouldn't be hard to achieve that either. I'd say also, don't be stingy with survival CD's. You KNOW Elite mobs are gonna hit hard. So hit one of your survival CD's reasonably early as soon as all your interrupts and CC's have worn off. That way you should be able to finish them off without taking too much harm. E.g. when i face an elite mob i'll Saber Throw->Charge->Force Choke once Charge stun wears off->Back hand when force choke finishes->Force push THEN Charge again (unless space does not allow) when back hand stun finishes. By that point between me and Vette they'll have taken a LOT of damage, i'll have my survival 'buffs' from scream, smash, etc active and then i can easily pop something like Invicible to reduce any damage he does do, usually ending up with me finishing on about 70% hp without a healer comp out. Of course if you're facing elites one group after another i wouldn't chain ALL those CD's together like that, but you get the point.
  20. As a third point you can change how your legacy name is displayed. you can have it as a surname like: Amandakun Praetor, Or as a legacy title like: Amandakun Of the Praetor Legacy Or you can switch it off completely....
  21. Which results in the following question... considering how the individual story instances are designed to be completed by a single player without TOO much difficulty... why would you pair up for them? Think of it this way, if you both enter at the same time.... YOU CAN RACE!!! First one to complete their storyline instance doesn't have to do the washing up that day.
  22. Plus sniper burst dps, especially at the lower levels is F***ING NUTS! e.g. at lvl 12 i was happy with a 340 crit on my BH, my Sniper friend, same lvl, no special gear, was critting for 600+ and being able to do 1.5k damage within a matter of seconds when he 'got lucky'. Plus though BH's don't have BFGs, the rocket launchers, flamethrowers, etc definitely DO make up for it. i'd actually say i find trooper dull....
  23. and the majority of morality requirement are light/dark level 1 which is EASY to get AND, since you can turn 'dark corruption' off you could easily get dark/light lvl 1 doing a few black talon/esseles runs JUST to access those items and then continue with your neutral choies in missions...
  24. ... well 'commanderbob' would look really rediculous ANYWAY so even if there weren't rank titles already added you'd still look silly. Rank titles have been in since beta. Infact i am pretty sure one of the stickies on this forum is a complete guide of all titles achieved by all classes and when they are obtained.
