Same here. If it wasn't Star Wars and was an MMO version of something like Skyrim or Fable... yes. I really enjoy this game. Of course, I could discredit myself and say I would play it if it was a Pokemon MMO soooo...

This is what I think too. In a lot of games (even Fable for instance) it's easier to be evil. In this game, getting more commendations for being good would make a lot of sense. It could offset the extra reward options evil guys get, plus... it's a commendation. Which you earn for heroic actions and whatnot. Perhaps it's something we'll see in the future, although I won't hold my breath, lol. Good thing I'm planning on making my Jedi Knight dark side. Smuggler will prob be neutral. My trooper is almost always good, sometimes the "evil" option seems more correct so I go with that. And my consular will be little miss goodie-two-shoes I think. XP

For personality I prefer Vik. He is a rule breaking, arrogant jerk. But I like him. Lol. I asked him if he was hitting on me one time and he said I wasn't trashy enough for him. =( Either way, he makes me laugh. For mission I like Elara. I turned off almost all her attack stuff and she heals me pretty well USUALLY. Every once in a while she just won't heal me and it really ticks me off. Sometimes it's because I left her on passive but other times I don't know why... *shakes fist* I really like Forex so far, he makes me laugh and reminds me of a transformer. And I like Yuun even though he's a little weird, he's such a nice little buggy guy. Aric... eh. I don't NOT like him... but I don't really like him either. >.<

Glad ya liked em! It is a lot of fun. I have tried quite a few MMO's and this is the first time I have felt so hooked and pulled into one. It might have to do with the trooper being such an addictive storyline, lol.

Lol that would be interesting and awkward. Things like that make me physically uncomfortable to watch, but it's still fun to watch them all the same. Mine is more... I dunno. She does the right thing most of the time, but sometimes feels the "wrong" thing is actually right so it's weird to be with Aric. I think I also need to customize him a bit because his physical appeal is totally lacking. Vik is a bloody monster but I find him more appealing and a better match for my character since she doesn't mind bending rules or busting heads now and then. =) I'm still waiting/hoping for the romance with Balkar to take off. Seriously, if I accidentally did something that keeps me from woohoo'ing with him I might cry in real life... just a little. Also I felt afraid after flirting with Aric a few times because then he wanted to go further and there was no "don't touch me" option. *gonk* Maybe I just wanted to lead you on Cat Man! *cries in the corner* EDIT: As for the topic at hand, I was really surprised there are no same gender relations available. Some of the companions really strike me as such. It'd be nice to see it implemented, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it either. I could see why some want the toggle option but the games have ratings for a reason. If the "romance" in these games is too fierce for you or your kids, may you never play Sims 2 or 3, lol.

I totally agree, tough, sarcastic female trooper is the best. I am soooo glad she is my main. I don't know what you consider to be high level but mine is 41. And her gear doesn't match so I will include a few different screenies for ya. Here she is more-so mid-level: Tattooine If you don't know the companions and consider that to be a "spoiler" don't look at these next two screenies. Mid-level with matching gear for once! More recent screenie, high 30's or at level 40 I think. Not quite matching but still looking awesome imo

I can see everyone you listed except Aric as a same gender option. He seems way too uptight. I just don't get that vibe from his character. In fact, I have a hard time seeing his hetero relationship actions. Honestly, I'd rather have Vik or Forex, ha ha! Elara I could see going either way though. She is all protocol but it comes off differently to me. I guess it's all opinion really.

Troopers need more romance options in general! Almost level 40 and my chick hasn't woohoo'd with a single person yet. She's gonna be 40-year-old virgin reincarnate. XP Do female troopers get to boink Jonas Balkar? Anyone know for sure? I've been flirting with him but if it's a no-go then I'll just stick with cat man. -_- You could use the spoiler tag option to tell me. As for General G... I thought so at first but when she started being all contradicting I decided definitely not. I kinda wanna see her get fired and then take her place as General, (while still being commander of Havoc Squad of course.)

I'm just a stay at home mom now but the last five years I was in the Air Force working with the drones. Picked trooper cause I like breaking stuff and healing myself as needed. Plus I've always had a soft spot for troopers.

I play MMO's more like single player games so I tend to cancel and reinstate my subs as I feel like it. XP I enjoy the stories and stuff but not the tension that can come with group play. So far I am enjoying the Star Wars community a lot more. It helps that a lot more of my friends are playing this instead of WoW. I will probably start WoW up again at some point, (panda expansion) because I still haven't maxed a single toon on it, but for now it's all about this game and will likely stay this game until I've experienced all the storylines.

Lol, my husband built a new comp for me in the fall specifically for this game (and Sims 3 Pets.) Last comp was from 2008 so it was time for an upgrade. I think it's appropriate as my main is a trooper. Brand Spankin New Compy Goodness! The dual mons were from the old comp, didn't see the need to upgrade them as they've served me well... and survived moves from Hawaii, New Mexico and Florida. I don't know any of the specs but they are good enough to run all these new games on the highest settings so that's all that matters. Played Rift on highest as well. Hoping to do the same for Diablo 3.

Yea "character customization" options, or "creation" or whatever still doesn't lead me to think new species. I was also disappointed on not being able to play a less humanoid race but this is just the beginning of the game. There will be patches and expansions and I feel like a lot of the community is forgetting that. It's supposed to be entertainment that evolves and grows with you and your characters. *sigh* I totally agree with you that if/when new races become available they should be available to everyone, so I think a lot of people will be disappointed with the legacy system if they got their hopes up like this, lol. What I'm curious most about is... do you automatically get the perks with each legacy level you gain or is it like a skill tree you spend the points in, picking and choosing what you want? Time will tell! EDIT: And of course, I know you were exaggerating but I like to think scar options and stuff of that sort would be lower level releases. Either way, when my main hits 50 I will be leveling my alts. I made them so I could be sure to have their names and I want the additional legacy points. Mostly, I just want to experience all the different storylines and don't feel like waiting around to do so.

I'm frustrated too but it certainly hasn't stopped me from making alts. Could you elaborate more on why you're waiting? I find it to be a good time to make alts and level them up if/when your main reaches max level. They'll give you legacy points and you get to experience the other storylines. That's my goal, but not everyone likes the same stuff so just wondering what's holding you back. EDIT: Nevermind, I see in some other posts about it that people are thinking it could make race/class combos change or the perks would make leveling alts easier. I... seriously doubt they'll add new races but I've been wrong plenty before. I figured it would just be some additional skills that you can unlock in a legacy tree for all your characters, or other creation options like more hair colors/styles. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised if they offer much more than that. =)

This thread and the replies make me soooo excited to get to the end of the trooper storyline! I am positive the only reason I've made it so far so fast (my mmo track record is horrendous) is because of these story lines. I started the game off thinking the cut scenes would annoy me but now I am constantly in a rush to get to the next one. And I check on my companions all the time to see if they're ready to chat me up. Maxed out my investigation skill at 39 just today because I've been overloading them all with gifts, lol. And I'm a huge altoholic so once my trooper is leveled up it'll be on to the next. Considering consular or possibly inquisitor... maybe even bounty hunter. @_@ I have made one of each and gotten just a couple levels on them so far. If anyone is wondering what I mean by horrendous, I mean I have tried 5 other MMO's that I can remember and never got a single character to max level... ever. (FFXI, Lineage 2, Aion, WoW, and Rift.)

I have a crush on him right now... if my commando doesn't get to woohoo with him I am going to be seriously upset until they release that possibility in some patch or expansion. *shakes fist* I was sooo sad when leaving Nar Shadda, the next time I saw him I freakin squealed like a preschooler.

This times two. I was hoping to make a fat chick or two for some of my characters once I saw there was a fat dude option. When I saw what the chick option was it was pretty disappointing. If anything I'd say it's thick but not really fat... look at that waist! I ended up just changing my character ideas but it would have been nice to have a couple chunkleberries running around together. (My husband was gonna make a fatty with me.) =(

I loved Aion! XP But I find it weird you prefer the PVE aspect of this game and then want to go back to a game that's mostly PVP? Unless much has changed over the past year. Hope ya have fun! I'm stickin to Star Wars for now but I have a feeling I'll be trading on and off between it and WoW. With the MMO's I've tried I have never gotten one toon to max level so I am freakin determined to make it happen between one of these two games. *shakes fist*

Altoholic here so.. yes. Yes I do. =p Main is Republic but I have one character of every class. 2 troopers right now though, because I also wanted one of each race and trooper is my favorite. <_< Doesn't help that all my friends and my husband prefer Empire.

I really like the idea of being able to set your preference during character creation since I have seen in other threads that some people would prefer not to even have the flirt options. But I don't know how much in demand that truly is so just making some of the companions romanceable by either gender would work for me. I actually thought for sure some of them would be when I initially started playing. I play a trooper so... I couldn't see Aric as the type to be romantic with a dude, Hell, I can hardly see it with a chick, lol. But I could totally see Elara as being romanced by either gender, although maybe for a chick it would take a higher affection level until the option arose.

I have a 31 Assault Specialist Commando and I looooove Elara. Seriously, if females could romance her, I'd be romancing her, lol. I would really like to use M1 as a tank and go combat medic but I am not feeling up to the task of gearing him and he is way too squishy as is. Elara's little sand attack is awesome and when I have her charged shot disabled she uses the sand a lot, plus almost always heals me really well. I love how well we slaughter mobs without having to stop as I'm currently racing a buddy to 50. He works full time and I have a baby to chase around that's trying to learn how to walk so it's probably the slowest race ever. I am hoping that if/when I make another trooper and go the Vanguard route I will pick another companion. I'm in total agreement that Aric is way too slow so I don't use him at all any more.

I agree with this... I have rolled male characters in several different MMO's and never felt like I could identify enough with them to really get into it. They always ended up not being played or being rerolled as chicks. But the one time I finally did play a guy, it was as a funny character and a joke of sorts. I did try to make the hottest dude I could to see if that would be fun and it really wasn't. XP I've given my husband crap sometimes when he plays female characters but it's only in good fun and he knows I don't really care. Perhaps sometimes it seems like some one means it and they're really just joking? Oddly enough, male or female toon, I've never experienced that sort of "harassment," or whatever you'd call it. Maybe sometimes it'd be nice for some free credits! =p But like the above post said, I don't make my toons overly sexy because I wouldn't identify with them that way. In fact, my main kinda looks like a butch les now that I think about it.
