  2. Hakuna Rakata is the largest Endgame guild on the server. We do PvP (premades & RWZs), and PvE (casually and hardcore). FIVE solid 8-man operation groups are running. In-guild PUG 16-man operations all week long along side world bosses. MMOs are all about playing with others and we make playing with others easy.
  3. Hakuna Rakata. We are the largest endgame guild on the server. Five solid 8-man Groups, in-guild pick-up ops all the time. 16-man ops. Two different groups are 6/7 8-man HM S&V. PS: "...guilds left on the server" sounds bad.
  4. New level 55 HM TFB 5/5, no problem. HM S&V 1/7. Gonna be much closer to completion by tomorrow. Recruiting all. Especially those interested in RWZ and lvl 55 operations. There is always something to do within the guild. In-guild pugging for operations is happening all the time nowadays. Join the most exciting guild on the server. We do it all!
  5. OP can we get an update to the list? Bet some of those podcasts are not running anymore.
  6. Pre-2.0 Dirty Fighting (Lethality)> SS SS isn't very good in higher level of play. Dirty Fighting does more efficient DPS because its mostly tech damage and the natural AOE property on Sharp Bomb lends itself to setting up on one of three targets. One great feature of SS over Dirty Fighting is its defensive utility (the Aimed Shot knockback, improved hunkered down, lower cooldown on leg shot, the -accuracy ability). Realistically tho, DF is more about damage on the fly. SS is turret DPS + utility. Good players will LOS a SS til u respec to DF. But meh, everything will change in a few days.
  7. After playing around with my crystal ball for a couple hours: QUOTE: Followed by ingame /me action by the player. "Seriously, no class specific story?!?!" /me logs and starts playing a single player game. "So impossible to level up on Makeb on PvP Servers (because some questing area are small + shared between factions). Good troll!" /me is mad he got what he wished for. "RotHC is too dailies focused. No1 ****** likes dailies FYI..." /me is about to start doing all the new dailies. "LOLS! Class balancing? My class still sucks!" &/or "Pre-2.0 Gunslingers OP. Post-2.0 Gunslingers OP. " /me still thinks its all about the player and not the game mechanics. /me also believes in the opposite statement. "Coolest part of GSI/seeker droid: not repeatable. Stupidest part of GSI/Seeker Droid: Repeatable." /me aggros dread-seeded lucky with no gear and goes afk til 3.0, PvP space combat. /thread
  8. The Bastion has been exciting RWZ wise recently. Hakuna Rakata has been queueing as we communicate with some MVP or Into the Darkness folks. They either queue up or form an imp coalition team. Props for working across guild lines. One major thing to point out: when a team keeps losing on the bastion, THEY DO NOT STOP QUEUEING after just 1-2 games. Unlike what the Harbringer has reported about themselves. Hakuna (republic guild) wants to have fun as we get better. Seems like Into the Darkness (imp guild) have a similar philosophy. The two larges pvp guilds on both sides are showing that they are resilient even when facing the best pvp guilds in the game. W/o a doubt, The Bastion is where Rateds are at for all levels of play.
  9. TLDR the thread: "BEST PVP GUILDs and the most competitive pvp scene is on the bastion! quick make an excuse to roll on the harbinger!" psh, i bet hakuna rakata and Into the derpness can beat some of those Harbingers guilds that think they r all high and mighty. The bastion has the best top level and lower level pvp scene. Also ping/server lag wont be as bad in a lower pop server. Quality over quantity is something we can all agree on... i think 0,0
  10. IF bioware will not produce class story for the next year, then something along these lines actually happened at Bioware Austin. Come inside the world of my imagination guys: Some Bioware Austin Employee: "So 4 class stories per faction is pretty damn unique in the realm of MMOs huh boss. Dare I say, it is SWTOR's competitive advantage." BOSS: "Yes, but I rather have us work on a cheaper to produce ONE STORY PER FACTION. Lower costs will look good on our short-term bottom line." Some Bioware Austin Employee: "What about competition like TESO producing multiple stories arcs per faction kinda like what SWTOR pioneered? TESO releases later this year." BOSS: "Meh, if they want to go of the way of the SWTOR history timeline. They can be my guest." Thanks for taking a journey with me. I advise you all to take a breath, make a wish, and count to three. Otherwise, come with me and you will be in a world of pure imagination. -Imagination MAN
  11. Totally bring back the KOTOR short lightsabers to TOR (yoda also had a shorter saber of course). We got the longer gree sabers now. Gotta give some love to the short sabers now. Cannot find a good picture on the net, sorry. Remember, it's how one uses the saber that matters.
  12. This would kill the liveliness of the fleet. Bioware would not kill the fleet. My guess is guild ships would be linked to the SSSP and/or guild functionality totally new to the game (maybe even MMOs). Some imaginative ideas I just thought of... +guild ships are lobbies to the SSSP multiplayer +when a guild ship orbits a planet, guildies on that planet get +X% experience (credits/rep items) +guildie exclusive quicktravels purchased by the guild (on separate cooldown from personal quicktravels) +Guild Ship level or Guild level which would be requirements to purchasable guild unlocks.
  13. PvP: World pvp events are extremely rare. There has been about 3 events period since the server merges. Regular warzones: both pubs and imps hold their own. no faction is better than the other, IMO. Rated warzones: more imp activity. has the best and worst RWZ teams. PvE: Pub side Level Capped: a top tier 16-man guild. one of the top in the world. Few guilds have cleared NiM EC ( i think around 4) Imp Side Decent amount of guilds with Warstalker. At least two 16-man guilds that r on NiM EC. Unnecessary Girth: a large PvE guild. Has cleared Dreadtooth 10 stacks and Dreadful Entity (world 4th i believe) Tanks are always sought after for pug ops and guild recruitment.
  14. Every healing combination is viable. Props to bioware for balancing healing out (except for Ops/scoundrel stealth battle rezs). Only issue is 2 sorcs/sages for NiM EC Kephess; stupid difficult. Force bubble is great, but it obviously cannot stack. The AoE heal is not very good for most of that fight. During the last phase, Kephess just keeps doing nonstop burst damage to the tanks. If the tanks get unlucky shield/def chance procs + healing trance ticks crit less than 3 times, then the tanking tank is dead. Defensive cooldowns can only do so much. Not surprising, sages/sorcs suck at burst healing. Everything else in the game is doable with any healer combination.
  15. u r suppose to tank as a tank class. not dps. obviously the duties of a pvp tank =/= the duties of a pve tank. tanks are not meant to kill things in either environment. gg mate. @other hater: which of my many accomplishments r u more jelly about?
  16. @OP This article u linked is still relevant. Most all of the info is accurate even in 1.7. Shadow Tanks + resilience is the best defensive cooldown for endgame PvE. lets the ops group work around mechanics straight up (NiM EC included). +can stealth battle rez and/or use "OUT OF COMBAT" self-heal (this is straight up BROKE OP duh) +best at holding aggro (both single and AOE) -most spiky (skilled/over-geared healers can keep up tho) Vanguard Tanks +Best mitigation tank (white damage only) +Best AOE aggro holding tank (lots of high damaging AOE abilities) +Top DPS tank (usually not a big deal, but can be if <insert boring, specific examples>) -the HoT cooldown is not all that great. -Folds to force/tech damage more so than the other tanks because the ONLY way to coop with it is a single cooldown. Guardian Tanks +Better collection of defensive cooldowns than Vanguards +slightly better at holding single-target aggro than Vanguards +Broken OP in PvP (all other tanks are a negative to the team). ~Funnest tank to play (fact ) -good luck holding AOE aggro -outshined by Shadows and Vanguards in practice very slightly tho Summary: Shadows are broken due to stealth (seriously, not exaggerating). Abuse'em if u want to be a god. Vanguards are easy-mode + best at mitigation. Guardians are the worse in practice but fun. -brought to u by a Dread Slayer / Warstalker x3 / Deep Wriggler x 3 ******. no need to thank me noobs
  17. Howdy ho fellow noobos. Debate no more, CAAAAAAAAAAPTAAAAAAAAAAAIN OOOOOOOOOOOOBVIOOOOOOOOUS is here. TBH. Both specs are proper, depending on the RWZ (voidstar/huttball/denova/CW/Hyperage). Lethality/Dirty Fighting is good for sustain damage because one of the dots is AOE. Healers wanna waste a GCD on a cleanse ONE PERSON in a RWZ? Go for it . Lets see'em keep up EVERYONE'S HP. The sniper/slinger will just redot or the team switches targets. Sab/Engi is good for Voidstar and Huttball. The AoE is awesome for voidstar def. The AoE slow and 30meter range is awesome for Huttball. MM/SS isn't too bad either. The 60% less damage for 20 seconds every 45 seconds is awesome against smash-monkeys in Voidstar. Just that Sab/Engi>MM/SS in THE TYPICAL Voidstar cuz of them AoE. It is not uncommon to see RWZ Voidstars come down to kills. In this case, MM/SS aint such a bad idea cuz u r so tanky against SMASH/Force Sweep and do way more sustain burst than Sab/Engi (the cooldowns for Sab/Engi are loooooooong). TLDR: go read if u wanna get good kid. /THREAD No need to thank me ladies and noobos. And remember... stay kool, be OOOOOOOOOOOOOBVIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUS.
  18. I now pronounce Eszi a fellow OBVIOUS SCOUT. Yes that is correct; "Makeb is not an expansion". Been said before by Bioware. Glad we can cover an announcement months after it was first mentioned. A full expansion would not be only $10. Makeb is a digital expansion. We can define a digital expansion as something that has more content than an update, but less than an expansion. Do not like the product? Do not buy it. Adios. CAAAAAAPTAAAAIN OOOOOOBVIOUUUUS
  19. I was in a RWZ match against Into the Darkness. It was a legit game, nothing fishy. If any of the guilds on the list want to be contacted, provide some form of contact info (ingame name, "PM me on these forums").
  20. NiM Kephess also drops two random Hazmat Pieces (like the hazmat pieces that drop from The Writhing Horror) and also has a chance to drop the HM Kephess Mount (the black-red mount)/ Qyzen Fess Customization.
  21. So which guilds run RWZ? Here is a list of all known guilds that run RWZ teams: Republic Crits and Giggles Freaks of Legend Hakuna Rakata Hey im MVP Synergy The Galactic Council Imperial Hey im not MVP Into the Darkness Nothing-Personal Strickly Business Any more to add?
  22. Bioware has already replied to this question before (it was in one of the Q&A blog posts a while ago). They gave two reasons: SM EC (they did not include SM TFB because TFB was not released yet) requires a significantly more organized PUG than SM EV/KP. As people get good, Bioware will consider adding SM EC to the queue. SM EC (& SM TFB) have a gear requirement of at least full Columi. Currently there is no way to profile characters that enter the group finder. Until the two issues are met, no SM EC and SM TFB in the group finder. Want to do SM EC and/or SM TFB? Join a group that advertises recruitment in general chat and GOOD LUCK. BROUGHT TO YOU BY CAPTAIN OBVIOUS
  23. Hakuna Rakata on The Bastion attempted him twice with 5 stacks. We had a total of 24 ppl; 3 tanks, 7 Healers (4 sage healers), and 14 DPS. We got to about 45% and would wipe at about the same point after we noticed blue electricity shoot out of Dreadtooth. This some kind of reflect damage mechanic?
  24. Yes, having too much damage can be a bad thing in certain fights or fight phases. It is a mechanic that makes DPS into a balancing act, which can generate new strategy and tactic changes to operation groups that up their DPS between attempting a particular fight. Translation: it keeps things spicy even if you have done the fight 49789743a3 times. Don't like the mechanic? Don't attempt the bosses. Still want your loot? Learn to like it and adapt to possible DPS imbalance. No one likes dieing/wiping yet we still attempt bosses for the sake of loot/progression. TLDR: LEARN THE FIGHTS (EVEN THE PART WHERE **** DOESN'T GO THE WAY YOU PLANNED) -Captain Obvious
