  1. No they dont compliment each other to any degree of value considering you only save about 100ms time. If someone is used to clicking a skill as a reflex they can do it virtually as fast a keybind, and since there is NO need in swtor for high reflexes there is no demand for some skill to be keybinded. The point im trying to make is, if people dont keybind some things that does not automatically make them a bad player as its very plausible that the person is just as competent clicking some skills as one would be with a keybind. Also I didnt state that saber ward was used in 1v1s, and I can assure you I am very capable of playing my class, probably more so than you are at yours, so attacks on that degree wont really work.
  2. Im sorry your point still fails. Sabre ward gives 100% block chance for 2 seconds yes, do I lose any of the block time if I click it 100ms slower? if its even that. In fact most times when someone is about to unload burst they stun you, e.g an operative, so usually you have to use your CC break and then follow with sabre ward, RARELY do you EVER have a situation where you need to reflex a burst of damage with sabre ward considering the only true burst class will stun you before they burst. Aside from that you have sentinels or gunslingers one of which is sustained damage the other of which casts gunshots before they hit you. So no im not making excuses and its really not sub optimal when there is no purpose to having it pressed faster by 100ms. The point of this entire dumb argument is that the benefit is so minor that it pales in comparison to any of the other skill based aspects a player can establish, so much so that its impact is entirely neglible to one's level of play and thus this entire delusion that people have about "OMG HE CLICKS SOMETHING" is purely one which lemmings who follow the forum posts say. And I havent ever played WoW, but I am more the guy who carries the entire team. WoW is for bad pvpers, I only play objective based pvp.
  3. Oh trust me in the last 5 years of pvping I have very much optimized my setup to what suits me. Hallmark of a bad player? You have no grounds to say this on though I assure you if I were to brag about my achievements you would look very small in comparison. Guardians have no 5 min cool downs, I was using this as a generalization, we do however have 3 min cool downs and I dont need to activate these ASAP because im smart enough to anticipate incoming damage and thus be ready in advance, not have to react to an already screwed up situation. I dont think I have ever once been too late with sabre ward or enure. I still dont see this god sent benefit everybody will recieve which will all of a sudden allow 100k more damage just because they decide to keybind a few long cool downs skills. Its time to face the facts, the benefits from having select skills bound is minimal to none and thus is little basis to ENFORCE your opinion of key layout on others with the argument of "them being bad".
  4. God forbid you are capable of reading the entire paragraph. If non clickers cant even read then perhaps you arent all so uber leet?
  5. I do not need to overload my keybinds, I do not need to purchase a naga mouse which can be inconvenient for some depending on your hands. I am more readily available to press twitch skills which are more crucial to my play as I otherwise would be had my fingers been moved to a more inconvenient location, this would be with regards to off cool down skills for a jedi guardian such as riposte, taunt, force kick. I am more capable of clicking my push to talk if I have less keybinds, and its more important for me to say something in time than hit a 5m cool down skill with a keybind.
  6. I need not watch videos about DPSing especially in a game like WoW. I can assure you as a very competent player that when it comes to long cool down skills, the cursor travel time is something like 150ms if you are used to it. Considering this will happen once a couple of minutes, its hardly any potential lost. Now as far as clicking the button near the bar unlock key, that does seem a bit weird and I can say from experience that the bar does occasionally unlock itself.
  7. Dont think so. When you have skills on long 3m to 5m cool downs they dont need to be on a bind for optimal gameplay, nowhere near.
  8. Im glad your server is doing well, I really hoped mine would fair well too. But the fact is a lot of our best pvpers quit the game, sure there are other "good pvpers" who havent hit 50 yet so their potential isnt discovered but all the names who made 50 at the start quit. A lot of the players who I played with every single day in warzones on release and became friends with all quit as well. Heck about 75% of my guild quit since we are a pvp guild. I personally unsubbed yesterday, as a player who leveled exclusively in warzones and was valor 49 when I dinged 50, it just wasnt quite what I had in mind. I know I played it a lot and milked the cow so to speak but the fact is that good PvP games should never get tiring or repetitive, that is the point of pvp, its ever changing, unless the game mechanics and combat just dont allow it as is the case with swtor. I think at this point a great deal of the pvp player base is irreversibly lost. Perhaps ranked warzones will bring a few back but theyll be quick to leave when games like GW2 come out with monthly and yearly tournaments, or a game like TERA comes out which has more innovative combat with their targetting system. Basically swtor did nothing good except adopt the star wars IP, but that alone can not make a game.
  9. We will. By unsubbing untill they release something worth money, and heck if that content comes out anytime near gw2, diablo 3, archage, wow expansion, well then they can forget about returning players. In fact the reality is EA knew that star wars couldnt compete with these titles, thats why the release was rushed because they didnt want to release with GW2, D3 etc because those games completely over shadow swtor, this game is appalling by comparison. Heck every patch that has come out so far has only served to worsen the game, the good patches were the ones which fixed the bad patches. My server used to have 400 people on the fleet, now if is at 100+ then its pretty active. On a saturday night at 8 gmt my server was "Standard" when on release it was "FULL" with a 1 hour que. There is not a single "Very Heavy" consistent server in europe for that matter. You would be fooling yourself if you thought this game had anything close to 1 million subs. Ive already seen all the best republic players on "The Ravager" quit the game, myself included at this point.
  10. Basically if someone dies they give no valor for a period of time. This period of time has been extended. What it should be is if YOU kill a player they dont give YOU valor for a period of time. Is this too hard to code? If so then just shutdown your servers and quit the mmo industry, its a lost cause.
  11. Ive been solo roaming for over an hour now, ive easily killed 30+ people in 1v1s, I have had 2 of them count. Im not sure I really understand bioware... do they actually have an education? perhaps a university degree in not being retarded? it would go a long way... I understand what the patch does but the truth is now you have to be in a zerg or you can forget about kills. The zerg will simply kill all enemies and thus you wont have anything to kill yourself. I play a republic jedi guardian, my faction is outnumbered, I cant play in ops groups properly cause the reality is I can only sabre throw for tagging kills, half the jedi shadows I now meet use the water exploit to heal 50% health for free, the other half run away when theyre dying. And now anyone else I kill wont count. I am easily one of the best geared guardians on our entire server and getting 30 kills may take me well over 5 hours unless I play lame and camp with the zerg in which case maybe 2 hours.
  12. PvP is trash. I am quite an accomplished pvper and from an objective stand point I can easily state that this pvp is amongst the least satisfying I have seen. I bought this game as a filler untill gw2 but it barely even lasted a month. Sad.
  13. They already have. Patience was exhausted during the 5 year development stage. If your game isnt complete then dont release it. You cannot say "wow didnt have this 10 years ago" cause as a new industry product they have to compete with WoW as it is now, not 10 years ago. So its one of 2 things, either this game is complete and this is what we are stuck with or it is incomplete. If its the later then why did they release us? to get free money? and you want me to be patient with people trying to milk money? hmmmmmm
  14. Meh I actually dont use focus spec for this sole reason. Firstly you encounter good players in competitive matches. Competitive matches are the only times it really matters. In these matches the players know how to deal with it and will activate knockbacks after they see you stack singularity and they are in a ball. Secondly videos of lecuila etc are as many say montages. If a full warzone was recorded you would see the amount of times one is made to look like a clown because they lost their window of sweep opportunity due to circumstances out of their hand. Finally, the knockback bug just pisses the crap out of me. I may deal a tad bit more damage in focus spec than vigilance but I am not prepared to deal that extra while having to get mad everytime it bugs out. This bug is actually very aggravating and that is reason enough for me to avoid it.
  15. I use plasma brand a lot, to prevent players from stealthing and to proc victory rush. It also crits for anywhere between 2k-3.5k for me on the initial hit thus I find it quite nice. As far as defense and survivability goes, a lot of it is down to good play. I dont have the cooldowns to just stand in it all and tank it but I have leaps. Now smart use of leaps is truly the difference between good players and bad ones. Say I find myself getting hit by 4 ppl with no cool downs, I will ally leap our, all of their melee will charge me but their casters will stand still. I break line of sight and wait, once all their melee reach me I stagger them open line of sight and leap to their casters. Now their melee have to run to me again while I am bursting their cast. They finally reach me and then I knock one of their casters away, this resets force leap. I leap to the force pushed caster and at this point I am probably able to kill then. While I kill the caster their melee are again running to me, at this point I have guardian leap back and I just snare them and leap to an ally. In this situation I just killed someone while being focused by 4 players and survived assuming I had an ally to leap to. These smaller micro things are not really noticed by the enemy or when watching videos etc but really they define the difference between top notch and average. As for good gear. I think vigilance is one of those specs that scales better with gear. Most white damage specs such as vigilance depend highly on gear because their damage multipliers are boosted by power quite a bit. But it is a lot more crucial to know who you are hitting and not beat on tanks. You will notice that in the video that when I am ops leader I just mark their healers and dispose of them on sight which wins us most of our fights.
  16. Ah sorry about the music. Hmm for some reason I just dont get much lag; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpgB7gEIdFQ&feature=context&context=C32c0395UDOEgsToPDskLjHpQeinl4AD4jUAl6yYpW Thats my guild in ilum with me leaping in to 24 enemies or so and not lagging too bad, was actually quite fun.
  17. Dont see the relevance, im not a class that needs to kite. The backpedalling I do is to place a character infront of me if they are in a 2m radius of me because this game doesnt have collision. It is a lot faster than turning around an entire camera angle especially when you want to retain your current vision of the field.
  18. With so many focus spec videos going around a lot of people believe a guardian as simply a force sweep bomb. So in order to change things up, heres a video of what vigilance, our single target spec, is capable of. 400k damage seems quite common on this single target spec.
  19. http://i.imgur.com/f2l1E.jpg Just did that 10 mins ago, an example of where id lie without any healers (10 deaths). Its just that matches with lots of deaths dont make cool videos but anyways when I have advocated vigilance I advocated its strength in coordinated pvp as being stronger.
  20. So a few people have been interested in how I have been achieving regular 400k warzones in vigilance spec. While I cant really explain why or how I do what I do I decided I would just make a cool video to give a general impression of my playstyle. Hope you guys enjoy it Also.. I have no clue why this didnt upload in 720 since it was rendered as such, first time that happens so sorry for the lack in quality
  21. Except gearing for pvp is a lot more competitive than gearing for pve since... well its pvp, the reason is in the name. Its pretty simple, they should have made it a long grind that was constant for all. Those who wanted battlemaster should have to work hard, the casuals can have champion gear. To facilitate this you would just have each bag give 1 commendation and a piece by 15 commendations. The thing that irritates people the most is that a buddy gets something super easy while they have been waiting weeks. Its the disparity and time/effort difference that annoys people, not the time taken in total.
  22. My god why is this so difficult for them to get right. I mean it always felt awkward how after 3 globals I still needed to wait this odd half a second which feels like a long time but I didnt know that its different for juggernauts. The same with our damn snare, theirs is 9s ours is 6s duration. I just dont see how this crap even happens, are university degree employees incapable of copy pasting?
  23. Hmm on a tank with 50% mitigation each stack gives 50*.04 = 2% more damage. Thus using sund strike twice will give 4% more damage. On clothies this effect is halfed. The thing you must consider though is that it buffs the damage for your entire team, applying 4% more damage taken by a tank for example is still quite a lot. I know these numbers seem minor but when you are comparing it to something like gather strength which is very situational and only effects 1 skill for just you. I dont find myself snared in pvp much anyways so I cant see how I would make use of gather strength, but thats just me personally.
  24. You certainly want to have improved sundering strike and insight(6% crit chance on force). An extra stack of armor debuff does a lot more than you think, as does 6% more crit chance. I think the spec I linked would probably be better even for pvp, if you remove the talent in master strike from my spec and put it in the free snare your good to go.
  25. http://i.imgur.com/yoZWb.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JLtm0.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fqWxx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/zjrrH.jpg Thats in only 4 days of doing 3 matches a day for my daily since I got burned out after getting battlemaster. I consistently do 250k+ and am the highest or 2nd highest damage in our team, only people who can score higher than me are sages spamming dots and aoe. My spec is: http://knotor.com/skills#AgIFIQPL2gkrMkJJWnN5iZKjsrrL09rL It could be further optimized but I have the master strike talent for pve purposes so I dont waste money in respecs. I have cleared EV in nightmare mode in the same spec, and tanked karaggas palace in HM as well with a few gear swaps. I also tanked open world pvp, a video of that will be up soon. The simple fact is the skill cap on vigilance is a lot higher which is why many 400k screenshots of the spec arent floating around. Skill usage/efficiency/target selection/positioning have to be a lot more effective than focus spec. Focus spec is plain and simply easy mode. It doesnt matter what you target or how you use quite a lot of your skills, the biggest concern is to get a maximum number of people hit with force sweep which is a trivial matter. People play vigilance at first and arent able to optimize their gameplay. Keep in mind gameplay isnt rotation, the rotations are easily mastered for any class in this game, its more field awareness and target awareness. A lot of my damage is white damage so obviously I cant tab to the nearest tank like the focus spec. I will have a video of the spec up soon. It wont be a "warzone" video because im enjoying editing at the moment it will just be clips out of a variety of warzones, no doubt it will be biased because I take the cool crap but you will get an idea of how I play and how I can pull off 400k with consistency.
