I haven't set up a time yet. I have been feeling out what people want to do. This weekend I'll setup a post on the forums for a signup sheet.

You can bring any gear you would like. I recommend max expertise as the tournament will take place in an area where there is no bolster.

I am thinking of hosting a dueling tournament to test out the combat changes in 3.0. This is just a starter thread to see what peoples opinions are. I'm needing some opinions so I can choose what type of tournament I'm going to do. I want to do either a 1v1 round robin tournament, or a 2v2 tournament. Ideally it wouldn't be swarmed with rules, essentially I want everyone to play their class to it's full potential. So sap healing is allowed for stealth classes. The tournament wouldn't be held until the end of December I assume so people can level and play their classes for a while to get the new play style down. I haven't figured out prizes yet, but I will soon. Let the hate and good opinions commence...................NOW!

But you are talking to people who only have played with the people who are playing the game now. He wasn't around on pubside when guilds like Don't Panic and Synergy were around. *Edit: If he was around then, I can't see how he is claiming these players are good.

Unfortunately this set up makes it more biased to operatives. I love when people set up 1v1 tournies, but allowing only class heals makes it so that sorcs/ops/mercs get an unreasonable boost compared to other classes. If this is the case it might be more even to make it so stealth classes can't exit combat and entering stealth then LOSing and healing. Just something to think about. I bet that a lethality op will win again

Since a number of dweebs decided to leave the Bastion and go to Harb. I'm looking for a list of people who are interested in being farmed for group rating . Go ahead and reply with your guild, the person(s) in that guild to contact in game, and available dates you guys can do 4s. This way there is sort of a directory to go to and spam you with requests to do group ranked. I'm craving some ranked matches without having people with an IQ of 27 playing as dps on my team.

Heh. I love how these posts always get ignored. It's really tough to talk about the quality of players. There are some terrible ones. Some great ones. Most warzones I have gotten into are imp vs imp. This server has a strong balance towards Imperial players. Republic side has some good players but most of them are scrubs and the population is quite lower. I do mainly solo ranked as of recently and 75% of the matches are imperial vs imperial. I haven't done PvE in a while, but I have many friends that do. There are many ops groups looking for fill ins almost any evening. That being said you have a good success rate. Most people here are smart enough to knock down most of the content, at least to the weekly that is. Of course there are a few people who don't have the appropriate IQ it seems to click 8 buttons.

The funny thing about it is that he would just get globaled if he actually stayed. 1. He can't really output reliable damage anyway. 2. He doesn't know his CDs so he gets opened on and one-shotted. So all in all, when you join a team that has smoochiex on it, plan your tactics around a 3v4.

I can mainly speak for the imp side only, but there are a large number of PvP guilds recruiting on gen chat. If you are new, just stop by the fleet and sit for 15 minutes and you'll typically see some guild or another spamming recruiting messages. If not and you see a name or something most guilds will randomly invite anyone. That is the problem with most PvP guilds on the server though. Not naming names or anything, but a lot of guilds will invite as many people as they can, but the really good guilds laugh at them because they have 1-2 good players tops. There are a lot...and I mean a lot of imp PvP guilds that have 300+ players (including alts and inactive members) and 95% can't play dependably if their life depended on it. Of course the better PvP guilds don't recruit the usual way. The better PvP guilds will pick you up from watching you in regs or ranked. I hate to name some of the better PvP guilds because it'll offend some that weren't listed. But on the Pub side the only real solid guild I've seen is Don't Panic. I know there are more, but I haven't seen enough pubs recently to remember any guild names. (And as I said I can mainly answer for Imp). On the Imp side, there are some solid ones. I'll just throw out some names to look for: Boss, Mx, Midian, Sorry for Partying, U Mad U Bad, GOML. I have added these because they are the ones I remember playing with that were good. There are more, but these are the ones who came to mind. Just a rule of thumb: If a guild is spamming recruitment messages on gen chat...they probably are filled with noobs. Try to avoid that if you can, if not play well and you will be noticed.

I typically play on 3 of my toons throughout the night. There's no real class you must play as it seems fairly balanced on the server. Looking at your sig I assume you play on the pub side. I agree though that you should play what you enjoy. Whatever toon I play on depends on what role I want to play. I typically have good experiences now that I am in a good guild. I have always got a good player on that I can join for PvP. If not at least I've made some good friends that are usually on so I rarely have to run solo. This always leads to some of the best experiences. Worst experiences would have to be scrubs in solo rated . Some people just join because they want comms for the PvP relic and they are wearing full PvE gear. Sadly they don't give a **** if they win or lose, they just want the comms so sometimes you get screwed that way. There's that and then there are the times when you have a severely undergeared PvP player on your team and he charges in only to die instantly. Little things like this ruined solo Q for me for a few weeks, but talking to some friends it seems to have picked up and if I'm not doing group ranked I'll probably Q more for solo now. It's definitely a good server. Constant PvP pops for all brackets all throughout the day/night. On weekends I typically play from midnight until 6 in the morning and I always have pops. The only advice that I could offer you is to get better at PvP. Don't just settle at mediocre. Pub side PvP is already that way now. Either you face a decent premade who has a good comp or (typically) you face a group of pubs that are mediocre at best and you faceroll them.

A few months ago or so there was a large guild that was recruiting on the imp and pub side solely for OWPvP on Tatooine. It lasted a few weeks and it was a pretty big hit, but I haven't heard anything about them for a while now.

I'm looking to settle one of my toons into a raiding guild. I have a sorc and an operative healer, as well as a marauder and PT. I can heal on sorc and operative and my PT has typically been a tank. I can perform very well on either of the classes and I strive to be the best. My preferred raid time is weekdays 9 - however late Server Time PM. I have any of the VOIP programs and can get a specific one if needed. Currently I don't have very good PvE gear, but I would definitely be up for grinding it out if I had a spot. I have been running PvP nonstop of the last month and I still will be but I would like a home for raiding. I have knowledge on TFB and S&V as I have cleared both of those in HM before. I took a break after that and came back recently, and I've only ran DF once before to the weekly on SM. I will be willing to completely study up on these raids. My sorc and mara are both full 69s and my sorc has some 72s/78s. I can gear up any of my other characters if needed. As a side note I am leveling a sniper for rDPS and if anyone would prefer him I can quickly level him. Message me on here or post below if you are interested in giving me a shot. You won't be disappointed. P.S. I also have a 55 sentinel that I would be willing to level to 55 if any pub guilds need a good mDPS.

The problem is that your PvE gear in PvP will hurt you way more than the set bonus will help you. And you can't mix PvE and PvP mods in items because that is worse.
