  1. Seriously, I have never played an MMO (or any game) that gave me so many damn abilities. By the time your character is in the mid-30's you have 2 action bars filled. I have no idea where I'm gonna put the rest of the abilities I get as I level up! And its not like there are any throwaway ones...you pretty much find a use for every ability, its ridiculous! I'm afraid to spend points on talents that unlock new abilities, I don't even have room for the ones I get by leveling up! I thought it was just Bounty Hunters so I rolled a Juggernaut, but now I'm in the mid-30's and the problem is cropping up again. I get some sick new ability and either have to 1) bind it to some hard to reach hotkey or 2) replace a current power with the new one, which leaves me hitting the wrong damn hotkey for an hour or so until I'm used to the new layout. I may be in the minority here, but you could get rid of about 4-5 abilities per class and still have a lot of variety.
  2. Its likely. You can try to IMDB the game and see if its listed. The sad fact is that it seems like theres about a dozen voice actors that do ALL the games nowadays. I have nothing against Phil LaMaar, but I'm so sick of hearing his voice in games I want to strangle him. Nolan North and Jennifer Hale too, so tired of them. Theyre all good actors, but do I need to hear them in every damn game I play?

  4. Its an MMO, theres no such thing as finished. Check the WoW forums to see how many people are griping about that game, and its 8 years old. If you meant to say "I thought I paid for a game that performed the way I want it to and had all the bugs fixed I thought were important"...well, you're kinda screwed there too, chum.
  5. Yeah, its not bad. You should edit your title though, so people know the topic. Nothing worse than thread titles that don't describe the topic.
  6. I hear ya. An upgrades compare tooltip would be really nice.
  7. You have to remember that just because something is a big issue for you doesn't make it an emergency issue. I'm not even clear what the problem is: your work schedule changing or the server's population decreasing? First of all, the game is BARELY A MONTH OLD. Lets let Bioware get it running smoothly before we start clamoring for other things. Just try to be patient. Unsub for a few months if you don't want to suffer through the growing pains of this BRAND NEW MMO. Second, the way things are going I see server merges really soon. This game is not the second coming, its just another MMO. Once the power players and whiners figure out that this game isn't for them they'll leave. I see this as a game for MMO players that are also Star Wars fans. If you're not a huge fan of the SW universe you'll probably just move on to The Next Big Thing. I'm not saying good riddance, thats just how I see it. Regardless, you'll get no server transfers, not in the first year anyways. Like an earlier poster said, it would screw with the population way too much.
  8. I kinda hope this goes more in the direction of LotRO than WoW (Sorry EA/Bioware, but y'all have enough money anyways). I'd rather play with a dedicated group that are fans of the content, and let the masses (IE WoW rejects) go play The Next Big MMO. I would be all for server merges and a smaller player base if it meant a better community.
  9. Ok good, you're stating that you have a problem with space missions and asking for more. Bioware won't know people have a problem if no one speaks up. Whoops! Thats where you blew it. Unless you have been in on Bioware's design meetings or have some insider info, you have no idea what they plan to do with space combat. You started out pretty good, then ended up looking like Just Another Jerk on the Internet. Stick to the facts, and make sure you don't treat your opinions like they are gospel. Personally, I love the space missions. Way better than dailies in other MMOs, at least its a break in the grind...not that theres much grind in this game. The only thing I don't really like is the moron-friendly auto aim, makes it way too easy when you don't even have to lead your shots.
  10. I think the most important thing to remember, as others have stated, is that the game has barely been out a month, and it is pretty damn huge. Think about the sheer amount of content BW have created just in the 1-50 game. If you level one character and do all the heroics and FPs and see as much as you can you're probably only seeing about 1/4 of the available content. I have a feeling that the future content of this game is going to rock, we just need to be patient. Compare where this game is to where your precious WoW was a month after launch. How much endgame was there? Did daily quests even exist? How often were you even able to login and play??? And how long before new content was released? Not that any of this matters to the OP. I'm sure theres a thread like this in the forums of every game the OP has played.
  11. Some people like to enjoy the game and let the story take them on a ride. Others like to clear content. Personally, I feel bad for people who skip quest dialog, do exactly what the quest says, go online for strategies, and do everything they can to get to the level max ASAP, only so they can ***** about being bored. To each their own. If you want to pay 60 bucks plus 15 bucks a month so you can level a character in three days more power to you. Seems wasteful to me with all the free MMOs you can power through, but its not my money or time. I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I've been playing for a couple weeks now and I have 3 or 4 characters all in the 30-40 range. I want to see all the stories and experience as much as the game has to offer. I do FPs for the story as much as the XP and rewards. Bioware is not going to cater to the hardcore players like the OP any more than the raging altoholics like myself. The game is for all those people between us, people who progress normally and chew through content at a regular pace. Sorry OP, either slow down, lower your expectations, or play a new game.
  12. I fully assumed I would play a Jedi and even started a Guardian, but the storyline just felt kinda slow and tame to me. On a lark I rolled up a Bounty Hunter and its turning out to be a blast. I'm currently leveling a BH and a Jugg. I don't identify with the bad guys in these types of games and I agree that the Sith story is pretty harsh, but its WAY MORE INTERESTING. I'm not a lore-whore but I am nerdy enough that it seems wrong to make dark side choices with my Jedi. Because of that the Jedi story ends up being pretty boring...you just always do the right thing and stay calm while doing it. On the other hand I never know what to expect on the Empire side. I can be good, I can be a greedy SOB, or I can just be straight evil. Choices are good. I'm not as invested in these characters the way I would be with a good guy, but its a way better story. Without spoiling too much, if you go dark on the Republic side does the story get more interesting?
  13. That would be a wonderful, amazing thing. Its unfortunate that on the rare occasion that we do come together its usually to sling mud somewhere else. Oh well, human nature I suppose. If there were more decent people online there would be more Jedi in-game. On topic again: I don't think you EU players will suffer long. It can't be more than a couple months before Bioware gets it right and schedules EU downtime more appropriately. Try to focus through the red haze of anger and you'll remember that this is a company that has made a lot of our favorite games over the years. Give em time to figure their **** out and I think this game will have a decent future.
  14. There is an ignore feature! I just started using it and I'm amazed at how readable the forums are. Just click the moron in question's name and you'll see an ignore button on their user page. Just take 15 min sometime and ignore all the dummies who post stupid, self-important, supposed-to-be-funny, whining, snarky, empty words. Granted, I'll have 75% of the user base ignored at this rate, but at least I can read a discussion and not bile from a bunch of self-entitled kids and know-it-all MMO hermits. On topic: Yeah, maintenance on a Friday night is ridiculous. And to EU players, its all relative. I play mainly after midnight so I get screwed the same as you, so stop acting special. I understand that Bioware has some growing pains to get through with this game, but they should have better judgement than to schedule maintenance on a weekend.
  15. Screw that. Its not a habit you need to break, its a bug they need to fix.
  16. Wonderful. I submitted a ticket too. Guess I'll just make do until they decide to address the issue. Thanks all.
  17. That was the first place I looked and didn't see anything...I'll check again but I have a bad feeling about this...
  18. No, just one of those rare weirdos that uses the arrow keys for movement.
  19. I use the "\" key as one of my action bar hotkeys, but its currently set to open a support ticket and I can't find a way to disable the function so I can use it. Anyone know of a way to disable these lame hardwired hotkeys?
