  1. Not anymore, you should have chosen the Dark Side option when you had the chance : so you would have skipped the entire fight. Just don't fight the waves too close to the cave's entrance, you'll be overwhelmed. Try dragging them towards the soldiers NPC, they'll help. Hopefully you are at least lvl 28 and have disable droids, that helps a lot. I did it on my annihilation marauder at lvl 30 with Quinn. Thanks to my disable droids skill and his carbonized stream we could CC a lot of mobs and didn't have too many issues.
  2. Don't know if you are aware of that, but if you don't live in the USA, you can't order the security key... and even more stupid, I can't download the app from Google Play because it says that this app is not allowed in the country where my smartphone is registered. So yeah, some of us really can't get the security key even when they want to (I had the security key when I was playing WoW btw), it's not about being lazy. I guess I'm lucky that I receive the mail with the one time password without issues so far
  3. Still with Quinn on Makeb, near the overtanks -3888, -225
  4. With Quinn on Makeb Makeb Imperial Orbital Station (this one made me lol )
  5. That's an interesting theory, and would make a great basis for a fanfiction, but I don't really agree with this. Baras wants you dead because you are becoming too powerful and are a threat to him (the apprentice that will kill their master in the end). I don't really see him stage a doomed murder attempt just to unsettle you, he's too pragmatic to willingly waste an opportunity to kill you. The setup was probably well planned and meant to succeed, and seemed easy only for gameplay reasons (player being alone and the fight has to be doable by a solo player). As for Quinn being insecure, keep in mind that not every female player made the same conversation choices. In the course of the romance you can really be a b.... to Quinn and he'd have every reason to mistrust you That's just a shame that your choices don't have any real consequence on how the romance plays out. I do believe that Quinn is completely loyal to you after the incident, based on what he says on Corellia + the very last conversation, but that's just me
  6. On my female IA I would have liked to get Sanju Pyne as a companion and romance option after Balmorra. He's cute and more fun than Vector And being stuck with that b.... Kaliyo till Alderaan was really a pain
  7. That conversation is the 6 th one you get in chapter 3 right? Indeed, that could work well, if you just stop talking to him right after the first conversation in chapter 3 (duty and devotion), where he I went a bit further than that , because I think the third-to-last conversation (technical changes) can also make sense after the incident, as one of the options has him saying :
  8. That makes sense actually, because it's clear that the very last conversation in the romance arc (training the future) is supposed to happen AFTER the incident. Malavai starts the conversation with : I decided to do that with my juggernaut, I'm holding back on the 3 last conversations in the romance, and will trigger those only after the "incident"
  9. Something that might help you with getting those conversations, just right click on your companion and listen to what they tell you. If they say "I want to talk to you in private", then either the cantina or the ship will do. If they say "I want to talk to you when we go back to the ship", then you really need to go to the ship, the cantina won't do. When you are at the right location to trigger the conversation, you will see a yellow triangle icon over their head, just like any questgiver in the game.
  10. I agree, Malavai is the cutest, wish all my female characters could have him And I really like his voice too, that posh english accent and intense voice acting, really hope too hear more of him in the future.
  11. yep that's what I meant, my marauder ran with Quinn until she got lvl 50 and finished her storyline. Act 3 is not so much different from act 1 or 2, you still lose affection with Quinn if you choose anti-imperial, irrationnal options or Being LS or DS isn't really the point, Quinn seems to be lawful/neutral in alignment. I played as LS and didn't have any problem getting 10k affection with Quinn, as long as I was supporting the empire and the imperial soldiers we met, and making efficient/rationnal choices.
  12. I also used Malavai from Balmorra till the end, and I really don't see how you can lose that much affection with him. Worst thing I had was -1 from some of my choices, no big deal. Are you making anti-imperial or irrationnal choices ? If it bothers you that much, just hit the esc key as soon as you see the minus affection window and switch to another companion for that conversation.
  13. 1 - Always loot the quest item/ the chest right away, even if it means turning your back on the mobs and taking some hits. You will survive anyway, and if you don't do this you almost have a 100% risk someone will steal your item, I learned this the hard way... 3 - Been guilty of that because I don't always pay attention to what other people are doing, as I really like watching the cutscenes and hiting the esc key to explore every possible option in conversations.
  14. Pierce is not really a romance option for the female SW : I don't know if you can flirt with Pierce when you are already married to Quinn though, my female SW didn't try as Pierce is not her type at all
  15. Very bad idea indeed : - there are a lot of players who don't care about romances at all and wouldn't give a damn about any of fhe LIs dying. So the concept of a whole expansion about the loss of your LI would be quite boring for them. - those, like me, who do care for the romance and their LI would be angry/disappointed and probably leave the game over this. We want more content with our favorite companions, not our LI taken away from us To quote another poster : If they kill my Malavai I'm out!
  16. That's later in a different conversation, when you find Rathari's message on Halidrell's corpse. Rather than a long explanation I just uploaded 2 of my vids: If you spared the Republic troopers you get this version (with my juggernaut). I think it's different than what you did because I asked Quinn to thwart Rathari's ambush himself. I found that asking his opinion, or pretend that you are clueless and need to rely on his expertise often brings out the best conversations. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=VvK1KTMvq5U if you killed the Republic troopers you get this one (featuring my marauder) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=MtEsdAb5cNM I made vids from the whole storyline, but been lazy about uploading/editing them About luring him in your quarters... I can only advise being patient... very patient
  17. Hehe, I also rushed both my marauder and juggernaut through Balmorra class quest to get him, then completed the side quests. I thought since Quinn was so eager to send me to the Balmorran arms factory, he should see what kind of hellish place it was ! About the affection raising too fast, there is little you can do. I found that Quinn was possibly the easiest companion to gain affection with, no matter if you play LS or DS. As long as you choose pro empire options, you can often get +60 or +80 just from one conversation. So, since you already know about Naar Shaddaa, remember those republic soldiers you meet ? If you spared them, Quinn will offer you strategic advice when you get back at Halidrell's office and find Rathari's message. If you killed them, you will get a small flirting option instead, your choice You'll have a similar situation on Alderaan later on, as a light side choice will unlock more conversations that you wouldn't get if you made the dark side choice. Then, you'll have the comment Quinn will make when leaving Naar Shaddaa, you can annoy him a bit if you want. About Tatooine, I'll tell you more once your male SW has finished the main quest there. You can just PM me if you want and I'll tell you about the conversation choices Anyone else remembers anything about Naar Shaddaa ? @Bright_ephemera : I know you are quite an expert on the subject, you'll know if I forgot anything
  18. Hmm, how can I answer without spoiling too much... let's say you won't miss that scene no matter what you do. Just like the one on Balmorra, it's totally part of your story and will happen anyway (just like the "incident" ) The examples I listed from Hoth and Corellia are exceptions, for all other interesting scenes you need to have Quinn with you all the time . Other than that, it's more about choosing the right option in the conversation to get the most interesting answer, and I can only advise press the ESC key a lot and try out every option if you can. Speaking about Taris, there is a moment when you are typing a code to open a door, and you really need to choose the right option in the conversation... won't tell you more not to spoil it for you . On Tatooine, there is a conversation with one of your main quest NPCs where you can get -41 affection with Quinn but get a glimpse on his true feelings for you. (at 21:11 in the video if you missed it). Just tell me where your character is and what she's doing right now and I'll tell you if there is something interesting to look for
  19. There is that great Quinn romance arc compilation on youtube, that helped me finding all those "bonus moments" while I was leveling my warrior (beware as it spoils the whole romance). The Hoth kiss scene starts at 39:13 The apology scene starts at 46:25
  20. That's true, I also got that scene on my warrior. Thanks youtube for spoilers or I would have missed it too. Since we are in the spoilers forum : It happens when you are around level 45-47 on Hoth when you are fighting a NPC named Draagh (the name of the quest is "reallocation). You can use any companion to help on the fight, but when Draagh is defeated and kneeling in front of you, make sure to dismiss your companion before you talk to him. Just right click on the companion's picture and click "dismiss" (you have to be alone to trigger the scene). the scene is really cute indeed, don't miss it About those quests with Wowrawn on Corellia, just make sure to dismiss Quinn and summon Pierce before you use your holocom or talk to Wowrawn. This way you will get 2 holoconversations with Quinn + the "apology" that you would miss otherwise.
  21. I managed to get that scene on my SW fortunately, but only because I got spoiled about it beforehand. It doesn't matter if you take Quinn with you on all Corellia quests or not, but you must NOT have Quinn with you when you talk to Vowrawn back at his safe house on Corellia. Just switching to another companion right before you talk to Vowrawn does the trick : I summoned Jaesa at this point, spoke to Vowrawn and he commended Quinn for saving his life, not Pierce. To be on the safe side, you could just summon Pierce before the conversation though. My character's affection with Pierce was never high so I have no idea if it has any effect on how the scene plays. It makes sense if you think about it, as the "mysterious assassin" attacks Vowrawn on your ship, so if Quinn was with you on Corellia there is no way he could have been on the ship and save Vowrawn's life. But, considering I had Quinn with me all the time on Corellia and dismissed him only before triggering the conversation with Vowrawn, he technically wasn't on the ship when the attack occured It can help with the relationship as you said, but to me, it just seemed that Bioware wanted to railroad me (again...) into hating my favorite companion with that "incident", so I mostly chose to ignore that part of the story. I was just relieved we got the option to forgive him and that scene on Corellia was just an added bonus.
  22. ^This is not rambling actually, that makes sense, and I remember having read several fanfictions playing with this theory (can send you the links if you want). In those stories, his goal was also to anger the warrior enough so she would kill him without regrets and draw enough power from her anger to kill Baras. If Quinn really wanted to kill the warrior he had many opportunities to do it in a much less risky/ more efficient way, he is your healer and keep injecting your character with stuff, why not just poison the warrior? He didn't have to stand in the same room with the warrior and the two pathetic droids, he could just have rigged the place with explosives and detonate them once you were trapped in the room. Not to mention my warrior is a marauder, she can disable droids and he knows that, having seen her doing so countless times. That episode was rather poorly written anyway, it really could have been handled better than it was. Back on topic, I would have preferred if those who really wanted to kill him still had the opportunity to do so. But ofc, getting a warning message first saying they'll have to live with the consequences : that is having one less companion and using the ship's droid for heals from this point on. Even, give a complete pack of level 48 upgrades for said droid so the player can start using it right away. That could have been easily implemented with very little extra work for Bioware. Maybe we would have seen some "please Bioware, give me my healer back!" threads on the forums, that would have made for a nice change
  23. Agree with you, I'm also playing on Red Eclipse and I also noticed that the trolling on general chat has become worse lately, to the point that I have to turn it off if I want to enjoy the game. That's not the way one is supposed to play a MMORPG, but if the gen chat is not monitored you will get more and more decent players turning it off and playing solo.
  24. Sure Lokin seems obvious as a healer, as he's a doctor, but both my agents wouldn't trust him with their lifes if they had a choice. He's still a crazy scientist who made weird experiments on himself, who's to say there is only kolto in those injections he makes? I think my agents would rather have someone more trustworthy as a healer, like Vector or Ensign Temple, Lokin could be a melee dps or tank in his rakghoul form. Ensign Temple would have made sense as healer, as it seems Bioware decided that any imperial officer you get in your crew could heal, (Talos Drellik, Malavai Quinn, Elara Dorne).
  25. Your post reminded me of a funny fact about my SW: when she recruited Quinn on Balmorra, he listed all his skill to convince her to take him on her ship (pilot, strategist, deadly shot etc.). That was quite a long list, but he NEVER said once that he was a medic and could heal... when that's all he really does in game He actually described himself as a sniper when he's really more like an operative healer.
