  1. Han Solo with a hat?!? Oh wait... http://www.unleashthefanboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/hanssolo_full.gif The Sith armor is a mean beast though, will be fine for my Assassin
  2. With full macro support like WoW has it, and a keyboard or application that supports macro keys repeat options, that hotbar can be shaved down to absolute minimum, which leaves very few keys needed for dps as example.
  3. Well I think that I can tell you why. Because you can add a timer to a macro key, making it auto spam just that key, and have an ingame skill chain macro bound to it. This will hold a rotation more strict than any pure keyboard created macro can, since an ingame macro usually just can skip to the next ability in the chain that isn't on a cooldown. In the end it all depends on how such is implemented in game and how much time the developers want to spend to prevent heavy abuse of such, like that they allow everyone with the knowledge of setting it up with the correct combo (means just find it posted on a forum) having top dps by doing max 3 key presses per encounter, 1 for main rotation plus 2 modifiers for break offs (used upon proc and movement situations).
  4. The LFD tool will only help with part of the issue regarding low populated servers while the addition of free transfers to more populated servers will solve all of them.
  5. Totally of topic I always wondered what a stealth-suited developer looks alike...
  6. Not really, first it's success on the PC, if it's big enough a Mac version will come, like every other "greedy" company does or has done in the past. I don't get what there is so greedy about it, it's more a question of playing your cards safe, but I guess your not much into business strategies?
  7. If you played WoW you would know that people getting into the group from other servers are randomly selected by the system. So I don't get how it should allow people to make a LEET group? There are some other concerns with such a tool thou which I posted on page 38: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=316975&page=38
  8. Well, for that free server transfers would be welcome. What are you doing on a ghost server anyway? I got some mixed feelings regarding X-Server LFG tool. I know a few people that no one would like to get into their group on their local server because of bad attitude and ninja looting, nice to let them join and harass others via such a tool. Just pondering how BW will add a penalty to bad behaving players when the power is taken out of a server community hands. I would also advice that master looting is used, but remember that you might end up in a group where the bad player is the leader and lootmaster. And the other bad behavior is leaving before it is done. I have seen players that acted like gods leave cause of multiple wipes, which where on shot kills after the replacement joined the group. Bad thing is, that the replacement might have needed the other bosses too. Also, some players tend to leave after they got the only drop they came for. Just saying that some of these issues where none existent before WoW got their tool added, at least not on the realm I used to play on. But to come with some comfort, it's only a little percent of the player base that behave like *insert random bad word*
  9. Sorry, but you surely haven't played GW when you claim that they are trying to copy TOR in GW2. Check out the real old posts on GW Guru too, and you will see that most ideas have been there before anyone knew anything about TOR. People who like GW won't be disappointed and I bet more will like GW2 since it isn't as instanced as GW and has some other new features on top. Your right in one thing thou, it's not as polished as SWTOR regarding the stories, there is a huge budget difference to think about just for voice overs.
  10. I see, stopped long time before that happened. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against open PvP, I loved when there still where ORVR realms in WAR (I heard there has been some griefing there too, but never experienced it myself), but I still found the way Aion had it implemented was utter crap cause of it's missing level balance.
  11. Well, me and some friends unsubscribed instead, cause of the grief high level player groups practiced in the Abyss, so I'm not sure how true your statement is. Back to topic. As for those who want a collection of minipets, why deny them that pleasure? It's not like anyone is forcing anyone to have them or display them.
  12. On the other hand there isn't the same amount of variation in hardware to support as for the PC version.
  13. Elaborate the meaning of "pro" in the quote please, I really fail to understand the relation.
  14. It's pretty precise but not 100% precise, and far from good enough for a personal dps breakdown if you want to do some serious theory crafting. Addons aren't completely out of the scope, since that is one way how you can add threat and dps meters. If ever, I would prefer that BW adds them and maybe let the door be open for addons, for those who want them meters to look different. Also, it should be by choice if you want to share your data like it already was mentioned.
  15. The way BW implements the combat log is the best way to have both a personal and a group log via websites with full breakdowns pr. encounter. Much better than Recount and such silly fail tools that aren't precise and need to be updated pretty often (remember that authors of adons might have a life, so there is no warranty for when an update comes). Maybe BW could add a graphical GUI for it thou, at least there would be no 3rth party dependance, which is what I hated most about one other game with addons in mind. Regarding the poll, I can't vote anything since it claims that I already voted. Threat meters? Got 2 tanks plus several other chars and never felt that I needed them neither do I miss them. But maybe I played to many mmo's without these tools while still being top at my role, I understand some people can't adopt or have problems, I still doubt that the mentioned tools will make them any better. If meters are added to the game let BW add them as I already said, if they choose to open up for 3rth party addons, ok, but at least have things available for everyone even after some major patch. I think a lot of players from that other game know what I mean by that. But that is just my opinion.
  16. ^ Finally someone who knows how to properly use combat logs. Meters visible in game take to much attention and focus from some players, not to mention the annoying parser log spam some do in party/raid chat windows when a boss is down and loot is sorted out.
  17. Not sure what's so cool about it, to me it looks like another Aion.
  18. About the same on Red Eclipse. It's the "younger" servers that got the issue, only because BW listened when people qq'ed about not enough servers.
  19. This, there are some npc's that are out of balance in contrast to their grade. One would think that Gold is better than Silver, but there are places where this is completely opposite. Can't count on one hand how many times I downed some wussy golden NPC where I had to fight much harder silver NPC's all the way to get there.
  20. Thanks, already assumed that there was a library, but probably best with a C++ approach for OS compatibilities sake. Requires a tiny bit more work than C# but worth it, and will also make it possible to port it to OSX and Linux if needed. http://www.ltr-data.se/opencode.html/ Also found the documentation http://www.ltr-data.se/library/ImDiskNet/html/b33f1e89-3d92-fc08-248d-14c5c2efd549.htm Lets see if I can find some time which I can spend on it, will put it open source if so, probably on assembla as a Hg repo.
  21. Add me to the list of WP7 owners. App's are created with Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone, can't get much easier.
  22. This is going somewhat of topic... Elaborate why there should be a difference between PvE and PvP statswise when you still need to do a certain amount of grind to archive it? I never got the idea why those two should be separated instead of having the whole difference based on skills with the dependance on what a character is participating in, just to have some form of balance between classes.
  23. No, I'm arguing about them wanting something giving me the ability to add an virtual undetectable script that automates the mashing. If you have anything against that you are alienating me too. I have played other successful mmo's that never got any addons or macro functions, and can ensure you that it isn't the lack of such that prevented them to become more successful than the big one out there.
