  1. I've never been so happy about a Bioware mistake. I was really wanting this to finish off the cantina in my stronghold and now I will be able to easily get one. Thanks for being stand up about it EA
  2. The amount of changes and new content that would be required for a new class makes me think that it will never happen. SWTOR is profitable for EA but I don't think its profitable enough that we will see massive changes like that. I would really like to be wrong though.
  3. I respect your opinion but I like them bright. They tend to lighten up the interiors of the strongholds which are very dark.
  4. I agree. They have ruined this character. His canonical plot line reads like a Tokyo subway map.
  5. Rather or not we finally get bathrooms is much more interesting than the current Revan plotline...
  6. It's a 'deduction' you make before all the facts are available... so kind of like a 'prediction' but with more snootiness.
  7. The problem I have with Revan is that the character has been used in so many different ways with different motivations and goals that he has lost all credibility as a character. The Revan from KOTOR 1 is not the Revan from the book and is not the Revan that appeared shortly after release and is not the Revan that is appearing now. Starting Good, going Evil, then being redeemed is awesome. Waffling back and forth between Good and Evil over and over is multiple personality disorder.
  8. Yes there should be. If every aspect of the game is available to the way you want to play then you are essentially denying anyone else the opportunity to play any differently. Not every part of the game has to be available to every player. That is like saying they should take PvP out of the game because you won't PvP and refuse to accept that there is any content you can't access. Conquests are for larger guilds. There was nothing in the game for larger guilds until this was released. They even set it up so medium sized guilds can compete on certain weeks and even smaller guilds can get the rewards from time to time. But if you are not willing to make your guild large enough to compete, go play a different part of the game. There is already plenty of content available for smaller guilds and solo players.
  9. I suppose the OP could be right -- we will probably never know -- but I think it's more that EA can't think of a way to make money off of it. My guess as to EA's feature priority list (in order of importance)... 1. Can we sell it on the Cartel Market? 2. Can we sell it to players as a paid for expansion? 3. Will it bring in new subscribers? 4. Will it keep existing subscribers? 5. Will it bring in new players? 6. Will it keep existing players? IMHO... Pazaak is unlikely to do any of these. Only previous KOTOR and KOTOR 2 players even know about the game. A lot of us would like to see it, but no one is likely to start playing the game or start subscribing because the game is added, and I doubt anyone will quit just because the game is missing. Very few people are likely to buy pazaak.
  10. I think this is completely intentional. Prior to this expansion there was NO REASON to deal with the additional work of having a large guild. The server was filled with tiny guilds of 3 and 4 people (I have no idea how many, but I personally ran into a bunch). I am guessing that weeding out the large number of tiny guilds and providing some incentive for people to form large organizations was one of the motivations behind conquests. I prefer it this way. You can still make a tiny guild if you want, but now there is some incentive to make large guilds and that has added a ton of interest to the game.
  11. Actually given that you can easily replenish your mats as the week goes on by running missions, spending scrap, etc..., the 'head start' is a HUGE advantage. Most max sized guild should have a similar replenish rate, so getting what is essentially a full day head start means you are constantly a day ahead through out the one week competition.
  12. Yes, we are very nice people on Ebon Hawk . Come play with us, we won't bite! (RP is optional) And we have some very nicely decorated strongholds as well...
  13. I tend to agree as well. For the record the two guilds on Ebon Hawk that racked up huge points at the beginning were Veritas and AOL for a Voss conquest. It was more like 1 million the first hour not 3. The rumor being passed around is that they queued up all of their crafting the night before and then logged in after their guild leader started the conquest to get the reward. This 'head start' didn't require them to be a huge guild, it just required that they were aware that they could take advantage of the system like this. Many of us were not aware of that 'loop hole' in the rules but I can guarantee you every guild will be doing that with their crafting efforts from this point on.
  14. Yeah, you are not taking into consideration several things: 1. High level mats require less components. It's not 16 per mat per war supply. 2. Prefabs also count generate points, and they require less mats than war supplies do. 3. Synthetic and Industrial prefabs can be combined to generate Universals which generate even more points than the first two. So you get points for the synth and industrial and then even more points for combining them. 4. War supplies can be combined to make Invasion forces which generate MANY MORE points than base war supplies. So you get the points for the base war supplies and then ALOT more for combining them. 5. Stronghold bonuses increase the points you get even more. 6. Planetary bonuses may even further increase the rate of point gains. If you can't muster 35k points in a week you aren't trying. 25k is too easy IMHO. I had my personal and guild bonus point requirements on three of my characters by Tuesday afternoon.
  15. I am a casual player and I made 150k points on three characters in the two days (75k on my main) just crafting. I just send my companions to gather mats and then make war supplies and prefabs. I sold off a few of the prefabs to pay for missions but when this week is over I am still going to have a ton of prefabs and war supplies to sell off or use to decorate my stronghold.
  16. First, I am not in a mega-guild. My guild will probably never control a planet. But I am perfectly ok with this content being dominated by a few large guilds. Running large guilds is a massive effort. There should be some kind of reward for that investment of time. Until this patch there was NOTHING in the game for large guilds to do. The game was very much slanted in favor of tiny 5-10 person friends and family guilds, and there is already plenty of content for solo players and smaller guilds. Even the conquest system has rewards for solo players and smaller guilds. And your concept of large guilds dominating the expansion content is completely flawed. The top 10 guilds on each planet can win the guild rewards. With 3 planets that means 30 guilds have a shot each week of getting the guild level rewards. Even if there are one or two mega guilds dominating a tiny slice of the conquest content, 28 normal sized guilds can still participate and benefit. Not every bit of content in the game has to be or even should be accessible to every player.
  17. Some additional personnel options for our strongholds would be great including: 1. Scientists 2. Engineers 3. Pilots 4. Casual People 5. Jedi and Sith etc...
  18. I have to disagree with your fundamental premise. It is OK for the game to reward large guilds for having large numbers in certain types of game content. Conquest is meant for large guilds. Until this point there has been almost nothing in the game for these types of players. Given the difficulty of managing a large guild, it was a penalty to have a large number of members with no reward. There is still plenty of content in the game for smaller guilds and solo players.
  19. /chair seems to work pretty well for some furniture and almost not at all for other furniture. The basic cheap chair that you can buy for credits doesn't seem to work well with the /chair command for example.
  20. I agree that furniture is insanely difficult to acquire. Particularly reputation items. Someone that grinds to champion status shouldn't have to spend outrageous amounts of time and money to get a piece of furniture to represent the achievement.
  21. Things which would make you play SWTOR more... revised: 1. Loosing your job 2. Getting dumped by your girl friend 3. Breaking your leg in a sporting accident 4. Receiving cartel coin cards from a loved one for a birthday present 5. Having your picnic plans cancelled by bad weather 6. Your place of work closes for renovations due to a burst water pipe 7. Finishing your friend's weekend marathon Star Wars movie watching party Wait... did I misunderstand the point of this thread?
  22. I immediately took this as a joke. I am surprised at the responses from some of the other posters.
  23. Sheshhh, why don't you people complaining about making credits go play a single player RPG. That way you can just use cheat codes to make as much money as you want -- since you seem to not to want to actually PLAY the game and want everything handed to you. Credits are stupid easy to get. Just a few examples: Running the non-heroic dailies on Oricon will make you 100k in 25 minutes SOLO. Even the mobs on Oricon drop between 300-1000 credits when killed. I run the non heroic missions in Section X and Oricon and easily make 150-200k a day in about 1 hour. As a subscriber, you can use your monthly cartel coins to buy packs and sell the stuff. There is a rare mount from the Vertica pack that I got last month that sells for minimum 3 million. Some mid-tier crafting materials (20-30 range) sell for 1k EACH on the GTN. Xonolite sells for at least 1k each and its only grade 3. Level 20-30 credit boxes drop 1k and they are ALL over Nar Shadar. My level 22 character already has 100k from slicing. I made 50k in 5 minutes with the seeker droid on Hoth yersteday by fishing up level 9 rare metals (that part is probably not reproducible, I think i got lucky). Anyone having trouble making money in this game isn't trying.
  24. I too work in Data Analytics and AI, so I thought I would offer another perspective on the topic. Bioware SHOULD be looking at everything, and I am sure they collect massive amounts of data. But I often find that my clients with existing analytic projects tend to only look at data in ways that confirms their hypotheses in areas that they are interested in. Many companies, even large ones that you THINK would have more extensive data monitoring systems in place, don't do a good job at determining 'what kinds of questions we should ask' in regards to their data analysis. This is one of the problems with Big Data projects. Companies see it as a magical spell that will provide instant wisdom, but don't realize that analytics will only answer the questions you are asking. In short, we don't know what they are looking at, so we don't know what they can or can't tell about how we play the game.
  25. I really don't understand why some of these people don't just play single player RPG's. If you are the kind of player that wants total control of the world you are playing in, don't play an MMO. By definition these games require you to sacrifice your 'special status' in exchange for a more social game play experience.
