  1. I'm not sure what the server population is because of all the instancing. What I can say objectively is my guild has slowly dwindled to a tribe of one. People seemed to lose interest, starting logging in less and then not at all. After unsubscribing and then resubscribing after hitting 50, I think I made a mistake. Gonna unsubscribe again.
  2. At first I was amused. Then I was irritated, but kind of amused by my irritation. Now I'm just irritated by him. I'd love the option to shut him up as well.
  3. I just wanted to update that i ran the flashpoint without crashing once, but as suggested above I did not use any companions except for the boss fight at the very end. So I guess I can run it but with no companion or limited companion use. Also there was a point where there are two turrets and I couldn't attack them melee, only ranged. Luckily I'm level 50, but it took a long time since I'm jedi knight guardian. But this is a separate issue.
  4. I've crashed 3 times in a row on this flashpoint. So far it's the only time I've crashed in the game. Crashed once last night and twice this morning. It happens at near the beginning...I clear some mobs, run through a corridor, kill a droid and go down an elevator. There's some mobs fighting, I kill one, then move to the droid and crash. It looks like a neat flashpoint but I can't finish it. I'd post a bug on it but then they ask a bunch of info. This is my relaxation time. Obviously I'm not the only person with the problem.
  5. I just make do with mouse in left hand and wasd for the right. I've messed around with putting the mouse in my right hand as I have had to use the right for various tasks over the years out of necessity, but it just felt very awkward and lacked precision. I encourage any righties out there to switch to the left hand and see how that feels, lol.
  6. This is precisely why I prefer the virtual world type game of precu SWG to SWTOR. It mirrored real life more than 2 dimensional game design. As a result, I could evolve my character how I wanted based on what I did in game. I started a guild, built a house, founded a city, and there was a lot of planning that went into governing. When I got bored in SWG I just switched gears. I decorated my house, went shopping to buy new clothes or armor, changed up my appearance, leveled a new profession with the same toon, explored the world, tamed little creatures and mounts, built furniture and houses, gave make overs, played in bands in the cantinas, searched for and gathered high quality resources, engauged in world pvp, ran through a dungeon with some friends, role played with my ingame gf...etc. I could go on. The point is, for a game where there was nothing to do I had a million things to do. Yes, SWTOR is not SWG. There is no game like SWG or ever will be again probably. So I just grind to max level and quit.
  7. I can run and jump in real life better than a jedi, and I am 43 in a couple days. I am also far sexier than any male character I have yet to see in game.
  8. So black people that become evil turn white.....
  9. I'll tell ya one thing, the space combat in this game is the most fun minigame I've every played in an mmo. It's fun, I do it often and I enjoy doing it. I'd like to see more space missions. That said, I could also picture something more along the lines of jump to light speed. STO's space combat also is fun but there it's pretty much always capital ships and the pace would just seem off for Star Wars. I"m curious to see what Bioware does with space. It would be great if we could keep both.
  10. I had an idea for a series of quests and minigame. Podracer 1) You have to build faction with the hutts to race. This consists of doing podracing type quests peripheral to the sport which will give you some of the history of the game as well as the important figures involved, ie particular hutts, vendors, well known racers, engineers etc. Upon completion, you are allowed to enter the podracing profession. 2) Acquiring a podracer. After you have proven yourself to the hutts by doing missions, the last mission involving an engineer opens up the podracing skill, which everyone could do. The podracing skill gives schematics to build a podracer frame as well as component parts. As in other crafting professions, components can be experimented with and improved upon. 3) Becoming a podracer legend. There will be three leagues, beginner, intermediate, and pro. Entering a race costs an enterance fee, and it would be interesting if damage taken would have to be repaired or parts replaced if too much damage was sustained. Rewards would be on where you placed in the race. Some rewards might be money only or in tandem with a schematic or upgrade. Leaving every league grants you a new podracing frame schematic with concomitant mods to craft. That's it.
  11. I would also like to see horizontal progression. Sadly, this is lacking in most game designs. You are channeled upward constantly to higher levels and better and better gear.
  12. 42 y/o professional working in the medical field. I have a list of hobbies and put them on rotation. Painting, sculpting, drawing, poetry (mostly 13th to 19th century), and fiction (reading and writing). I used to enjoy mmos for the rp factor. It helped me relax and decompress from work. Lately though there isn't much rp feeling in mmos, but I do still enjoy making a character and running around in a virtual setting. I'm also drawn to the art in gaming. I have a group of peeps I tend to associate with in games and most are 30 to 50 years old. In SWTOR I have mostly been running solo but I do run flashpoints and heroics with guildies from time to time. I really like the space missions: they are relaxing in a monotonous sort of way, which is what I want sometimes after a stressful day at work. If that doesn't work I just find a crowd of mobs and bang on things.
  13. Dailies are a form of zombie game play. Lot of mmos if not all have their version of dailies which is why we have an impending zombie apocalypse. This is content in the same way grubs are food: some people find them nutritious, perhaps tasty, while most would shun them otherwise.
  14. Quiting in droves...not groves, lol. Why would people be congregating in wooded areas when they quit, makes no sense, haha. But you hit on a point, I think they need to add some level 50 content. More level 50 planets, add collections, social rewards like armor, emotes, or even just points that would enable us to level up social and buy some other stuff. A pvp planet and warzones are for pvp peeps. Crafting seems pointless (to me) if you can get better gear adventuring or doing combat. Flashpoints and operations are for people who like pve, but not everyone has a guild or wants to run with others. And since this is a largely solo game it would seem like they would carry on that theme and add some level 50 planets with heroics, collections, etc thrown in. More minigames would be nice. More space as it is now and adding a more indepth space sphere of gameplay later would be good.
  15. I made a million players choose sith over republic? My sith meditations must be working. OMG THEY ARE WORKING
  16. Hahaha...yeah I have the same problem. I thought to myself, well I'll just go and do the dang quest and get it out of quest log. Well every time I'd complete a quest for the npc he'd send me on another quest, and another and another. And each time I tried to cancel and erase the quest I couldn't. Then he sent me to another npc and I had to do a string of quests for him. LOL. What really sucks about the whole thing is I got like 5 xp for each quest completion. Can't they atleast make it so you get the original amt of xp?!
  17. I was planning on sticking it out for awhile, but today I just decided it was over. I cancelled but unfortunately I am stuck until Feb 18. I suppose if they turn things around I'll resub but from what I've seen that will not be the case. This group of devs seems to move slow and then break stuff a lot. Tired of the blinking screen that started after the last patch. It's disorrienting. My ability lag has gotten worse and sometimes my abilities don't fire off at all. Where the game ran smooth before it now stutters. I think if I felt like the dev team cared about gamers like me I would have their back. I am an rper. But character creations sucks, no appearance tabs, no chat bubbles. I followed this game since it was a rumor. What a disappointment. I will probably just go back to playing Skyrim. Either that or just work on my artwork or writing. Heck maybe I'll put in a few shifts extra at work.
  18. Shine is not hi rez. Hi rez is just that, higher resolution textures so more details are evident.
  19. I believe I read it can be cross faction on Nar Shada, but otherwise it's faction specific. I may be wrong though.
  20. I noticed ability lag before the patch, but now its worse. Also sometimes buttons light up as if they should be activateable but when I click the ability does not activate or takes 1 to 2 seconds. It does not happen all the time, but frequently.
  21. I am seeing a lot of ability delay after the patch. A button lights up like I should be able to use it, but I click and nothing or takes 1 to 2 seconds.
  22. I have lots of quests in my log that can not be erased. I tried going to a low level planet to do the quest, but the npc keeps giving more tasks, lol. And when he is done he sends me to another npc who has even more tasks for me. And I can't cancel any of these quests. It would be so bad if I was getting decent xp out of it. But I get 5 xp for each quest completed. Frustrating, let me tell you. I just want to get those quests out of my journal and continue on.
  23. I am in 100% agreement with the OP. Also we need more hairstyles and facial options, as well as an ingame character editor. Please put these in Bioware.
  24. I agree we need more UI options. I'd like to see official options as opposed to third party add ons though. I disagree with the combat log that lets you see how I perform. Do I suck...no. Am I OMG awesome? No. But I don't play the game to be evaluated by you or by some prepubuscent with no life. Combat logs would be fine if they weren't abused, but let's face it...they would be abused. edited for spelling and grammar police. Still not puurrrrfect though.
  25. You have some good reasons for leaving. I agree with many of your points but come to a different conclusion. Still having fun with friends and have not yet reached max level so I'm sticking around for now. But no hi rez texture is horrible. Come one....in 2012, really?! AA I forced with my graphic card and it looks beautiful so nonissue there for me. Space is fun, I love it. They should add more missions, more bonus side missions, add scoring, rp type rewards, the ability to run old missions and higher difficulty so you can still get xp, etc. Ofcourse, if they make it like JTL or tie fighter I won't complain, but as a minigame it's the best mmo minigame I've ever played. And pleeeeeaaaaaaase....for the love of Ben Kenobi.....appearance tabs!!!! Or make all gear in game moddable, which ever. And more hairstyles. But yeah, hear for another month atleast. What they do in upcoming patches will help me make up my mind if I stay subbed.
