  1. As we don't have any accurate theorycrafting yet, "the best build" is going to be speculation at this point. IMO, your build is decent but I would sacrifice the points you spent in the focus tree and relocate those to Combat to pick up the 3% accuracy talent. Additionally, I relocated some of the points you spent in the Watchman tree as I think they are better utilized in improving Force Leap's utility and focus generation. Also, Focused Pursuit is pointless in anything but a PvP situation. For a PvE build its not necessary. Here is what I plan on going with: http://www.ign.com/builds/star-wars-the-old-republic?class=sentinel&d=123030221221230202300000000000003020032 The only points I consider to be extra are 2 points in the Watchman tree. Its down to preference whether you want to reduce the CD on Kick/Pacify, or add 100% damage immunity to Force Camo. Interrupts are essential with our class, so I went with the reduced CD on Kick and Pacify. Thoughts?
  2. I don't have this ability on my bars, sadly.
  3. IIRC, the Riposte icon on your bar is normally greyed out. When the ability is available for use it will light up.
  4. These are my thoughts exactly. The fact that it is off the GCD would ultimately net you a DPS increase as long as you don't starve yourself of focus for your regular rotation, which shouldn't be a problem for Watchman Sents. However, I find with the amount of abilities we have and the mediocre damage Riposte does I don't have room for it on my bars. I find myself using other abilities that seem to do more damage in situations where I can afford to dump some force.
  5. There are now officially 3 different names for the same form found in this thread... Su-Chii Shii-Cho Chii-Sho
  6. I can confirm Orange is neutral. The first orange crystal I came across was in a lightsaber drop from Valen, and iirc it does not have a LS/DS rating requirement.
  7. This is the realization that I came to @ lvl 23ish when I failed to prepare myself for the 40k speeder training. STOP leveling Crew Skills when you need to accumulate credits. Questing and GTN will earn you lots of credits quick as long as you limit your expenses. WoW economy worked a little different than SWTOR, it just takes a little getting used to and a little more planning.
  8. Great Post OP. This is constructive, pro-active feedback that will hopefully be heard and considered!
  9. I am sure Bioware has statistical information as to when the most players are logged on and what their busiest times of day are. In the interest of pissing the least amount of people off, they would be basing these decisions off of this information. While this may not work out for you and your available play time, for the masses this is likely the best decision. After all, most people work during the day and play in the evening.
  10. Sorry, but I don't see Watchman spec as bursty in any regard. I do agree with your point about crit though. The more DoT ticks that crit, the more healing you will receive as a result of Watchman spec which translates into greater survivability. Also to that point, by stacking Power, to my knowledge your force abilities will be more potent and for Watchman, this means that your each tick of your DoT-based abilities will hit for more damage. Draw your own conclusions. Diminishing returns will come into play at some point here, just not sure were at the point where we've determined that threshold.
  11. Lots of these threads popping up these days. We aren't at the point where accurate theorycrafting is taking place with this game yet so pretty much all of the responses you're going to get are going to be speculation and opinion based. I don't have an answer for you, but I would just focus on stacking Str>Crit=Power until more factual information becomes available.
  12. ^ x2 Also, something I discovered the other day... I typically run around in Juyo form for the increased dps as that is all I have available at my current level. However, when you pop Zen in Su-Chii (or wahtever) mode, your Slash ability is not only free for 6 uses, but it also hits the closest mob to your target as well. I figured I'd hotkey the different forms and switch if I needed some additional AoE in Su-Chii form. When switching forms, all accumulated focus is reduced to zero. So, you can switch forms mid-fight, however you have to start building focus from 0 all over again.
  13. I lol'd, especially since certain words are censored on my screen...
  14. I am the opposite as well, I just got to Tatooine and my Sent is level 29. Taris and Nar Shadaa when by pretty quick for me as I was usually a couple levels above the content I was playing.
  15. I use Kira pretty much exclusively for the DPS, she is not designed to hold aggro. I used T7 briefly after I obtained Kira, but I found I was still pulling aggro and T7 would die on a regular basis (due to ****** gear - my fault). I have since switched to Kira and had good success as long as I maintain her gear to the same standard as my own. I frequently send her in first for a few sec to soak any initial aggro before I jump in. On Champion - level mobs, this can mean the difference in surviving the fight. I am also pursuing the romance plot with Kira, so I also prefer to have her as my active companion for the affection gains.
  16. I only really ever use Saber Throw when I am running towards the next mob and Force Jump is on CD. I am fine with the mediocre damage that it deals, but I do feel the range should be extended to increase its situational usefullness. I'd gladly sacrifice the healing debuff for extended range (and dare I say a snare *squeee*)
  17. I am level 29 watchman spec. Obviously, I still have yet to fully experience the sentinel class, but here are my thoughts so far. Most of us who have any previous mmo experience will make comparisons to WoW. I've played melee DPS classes in moderately successful raiding guilds for 5+ years. So, that being said, from my perspective I find the amount of different abilities we have to use a little daunting when compared to my experience with WoW. I find I am not using all of the abilities that are available to me as they seem unnecessary or redundant to my role in group play or even solo play. I guess that means I am not playing the class to its full potential, but I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of abilities, cd's, etc. we have gets somewhat simplified months down the road. So far, my watchman DPS is usually top in any grp I've been in. If it isn't its because I am with another talented player who understands melee DPS. I am not complaining by any means, I am loving pretty much everything about this game and this class so far. I just feel that that according my style of play, I don't see the need for the amount of damage dealing abilities we have for what we do in the game. I don't want it "dumbed down" to the point where it is the same as WoW, but there is something to be said for simplicity and maintaining a balance between ease of play and making the encounters challenging.
  18. What a drama queen. This is obviously a glitch that I am sure will be patched in the near future.
  19. I successfully completed the Defector quest last night, and was able to correctly trigger the romance storyline with Kira.
  20. My Sentinel is only lvl 28, however I have been dumping most of my points into Watchman so far. I've had virtually no difficulties with any encounters, champions seem to go down fairly easily with the occasional sabre ward, etc. DPS feels good, however as mentioned there is lackluster burst with the class. The success of Watchman spec definitely hinges on DOT and CD management. Overload Saber completely changed the class for me, I feel like my dps doubled lol.
  21. This guy has it right. The key to this fight is interrupts. Time them right and this fight will go a lot smoother. Also, ensure your companion is geared well!
