  1. I found that with an alt, the best option was to go profiteering (your choice of 2 gathering professions and slicing) until 50 and then switch. This gives an abundance of mats for your main (cha-ching) and then some for your alt once you get to 50. My main is Cyber/Scav/UT (Guardian) also so I took Scav/Archeology/Slicing and plan to switch to Artifice for enhancements when/if he gets to 50. The only problem with this theory is that Artifice uses Treasure Hunting rather than UT which means a lack of mats at 50, but if you use Synth, this won't be a problem at all for you.
  2. Yeah, 3000 at level 37 does seem a bit low. After I got my second companion (Kira) I used her predominately until I finished my class quest and capped her at that time. The only time I didn't have Kira out was when I needed to kill an elite/champion. Now Lord Scourge ... /facepalm. When finishing my class quest, I got a -1400ish affection point hit. He hates me
  3. What is BiS? I've played quite a few MMO's (not many current though) and have never seen this term used. It seems to have something to do with endgame equipment?
  4. They may be overpriced to make, but I haven't seen anyone else on my server riding one yet (probably because they are so over priced - 10 mandalorian irons by themselves have a markey value of 120k on my server). I made mine, however, after getting 4 of the 340 UT missions on the GTN for under 30k ... so overall mine was actually cheaper than the light V one. I ride mine with pride, but it'll probably get replaced by one of the larger 1.5 mil credit ones eventually.
  5. Bit of a necro, but when I searched for this topic, this is what I found. You do not need to finish your class quest at the current time. When I noticed that my crew window button on the menu bar lit up at level 8, I tried to get to the fleet and did so without problem. I was probably 75% complete with my class quest on Ord Mantell.
  6. I did only story quests at level for 3 planets. The rest of the quests I did while grey and Quesh was green ... however, they provided that much needed cash flow to make it past the 40-50 lack of funds. It's hard to tell how much I made since I also started using the AH to make a profit, but in the end I was sitting on an average of over 300k credits after buying skills at level-up. Hoth gave me something like 200k, the others (Tatooine/Balmorra/Quesh) were likely less.
  7. Just confirming that I get this bug regularly too. Changing areas and mounting my speeder don't seem to help. All I do is cancel the "active" companion's crafting job, summon the one I want, then send the first companion back on the job.
  8. I agree. I use Kira exclusively unless I am looking at taking down a champion or an elite at my level (or higher). Personally, I think Doc comes at a perfect time.
  9. The last two. 1.8 seconds before the skill fires and 3 seconds while the skill is doing something.
  10. My friend (Sage) and I generally duo every heroic and FP that we come across at level (or when we find it) and we attempted Mandalorian Raiders at about level 27. We've not failed a FP or heroic until that point so we were fairly confident going in. We took out the first boss after an initial failure - those dogs don't seem to respect threat generation or something. Second time they went down decently simple. We continued on to the point of the second boss ... the 4 Empire guys. No matter what we did, there was no way I could keep up my defenses long enough or keep everyone on me with a single target 15s CD taunt. The best we got was the SW and Inq down, but then the BH and Agent burn us down too easily. After failing ... 10 times? ... we gave up and decided to come back at 30 for revenge when it is green, which to us was fairly sad. How did you tank this encounter? Does anyone have any tips on how I could have tanked better? We thought about killing the SW and then damaging all of the 3 others close to death before taking them out quick to avoid the buff, but that went worse.
  11. By no means am I making what I used to with slicing, but I'm sticking with it if they don't change it. Doing trivial missions to get crits still yields a decent enough profit, imo.
  12. Even though they "nerfed" (which imo they still didn't ... I'm still making a decent enough turn around to not drop it) I'm still doing slicing. Putting lockboxes straight into the bank wouldn't work in this instance. However, otherwise that could make sense too ... as if your companions return to the ship and stow their spoils away.
  13. Didn't see any threads about this on the front page and I'm not into manually searching so sorry if this is just a reiteration of something posted a bit ago. Reverse engineering plays a large role in this game which means items often get dumped back into your inventory. They get combined into stacks in your inventory, which is nice and very much needed. However, I keep my crafting supplies in my cargo hold for simplicity and often want to put reverse engineering results in there. Currently, if you right click to move them into your bank, a new stack is always created. Would it be possible to add the ability for them to be combined such as what happens in your inventory? It is, perhaps, a small and petty request, but much needed in my opinion.
  14. If you are getting white results, you are always taking a loss it seems of 500-700 credits. If you get green results, you are at least breaking even. I typically make 200-300 credit profit per box when averaged out. If you are getting blue boxes (infrequent) you make a large profit to the tune of 3k-5k. All these were tested today at 390-400 skill using tiers 4-5. Tier 6 appears to be hit or miss, seemed to come out even, but honestly I didn't test tier 6 enough to give an honest assessment. As long as you are doing grey-green missions, you'll come out ahead and sometimes very well if you get some blue lockboxes.
