  1. I agree, a lot of them are too large for my liking as well. I don't think this will scale much either, Dulfy is using the type 1 body style in the photo I believe. Some of the screenshots pre-release had enormous hilts. I remember seeing the first hilt from the Jedi story and was actually quite worried that it would be the status quo. Some of the designs are really great too, they just tend to look goofy when equipped.
  2. Does the PTS get the double xp? I have always been curious of this and I'm not sure the two have ever been going at the same time. I could be mistaken though.
  3. Thanks Dulfy. I like the design of the single hilt, just a bit large IMO. Some pretty decent items for the most part though. I'm curious as to what the mask will look like dyed black/black. edit* Curious about this myself.
  4. Just know, that I was not poking fun at you. I just had to steal your title. I completely respect the thread you started and agree with you for the most part.
  5. It's not trolling, it started as mild satire with legitimate sources of why the forums rock, with a few obvious poking fun at things (Copperfield). Then as I was writing it started sounding more and more sound.
  6. First, you have to be a subscriber to use them. Also: -Quick links to player guides and fan sites. (ty Dulfy/Iwipe) -Class theory crafting min/max debates -Operation progression / server first tracking -FP discussions -PTS patch notes -Sir Copperfield -Dev tracker -STAR WARS discussion (those guys know their stuff over there) The list goes on, there is just so much. Lastly, as we all know, the SWTOR forums is one of the most brutal PvP games on the market leaving far to many people in tears and a trail of blood in it's path. Everyone should get to participate. So, I propose that BW sell a "Priority Access Forums" on the CM for F2P and preferred players to increase revenue. There is a lot of useful information and the forums can be very entertaining at times.
  7. This, she played TSW at one point and still has guides up. She no longer creates new ones for TSW though. Her main focus is SWTOR and GW2.
  8. Yeah, I hear you. My main is a sorc, the glass cannon with one of the lowest DPS :/
  9. Yes, totally. That could work well too. I was just offering one of many ways the story could be presented in a fashion that would fit the games current story line.
  10. I would suspect lightsabers have a big part of why some people aren't playing those other games. I am the same way. I play TSW, DDO and LOTRO sometimes, but my sub has stayed to this game since launch. I don't play TSW for the raiding difficulty though, I like the lore and the skill wheel (higher learning curve then most games, I like that). I'm not really that hardcore when it comes to raiding anymore. As I get older I find I am becoming more casual when it comes to the actual content. However, I still enjoy class designs that have a much higher learning curve than this game.
  11. I use numerous things from the CM, pets, mounts, gear etc. Some I bought off the GTN some came from packs I purchased. So I would be lying if I said I didn't like the things that come from the CM. Do I consider what comes from the CM content? Yes. Do I consider the CM content itself? Never thought of it like that. I suppose if the GTN is content, by default the CM would have to be too. I just feel like they neglect other parts of the game in favor of the CM. That's why I always give the CM a hard time. Devils advocate against my own side of the argument: Just because someone solely plays PvE and can't stand PvP, doesn't mean PvP is not content. So saying it's not meaningful or interesting to you, does not mean it's not considered content.
  12. Funny, because on the Harbinger the top DPS is as follows: 1m HP dummy Op/Scoudrel - 4080 Merc/Commando - 4065 Mara/Sent - 3808 GS/Sniper - 3805 Guardian/Jugg - 3711 PT/Vanguard - 3650 Sage/Sorc - 3528 Shadow/Assassin - 3512 On the 1.5m HP dummy, I believe Jugg/Guardian and Mara/Sent are the highest. I don't agree with the OP, just thought I would point that out.
  13. It's more about planetary resources and slave labor in the middle of a war. War is not won without resources and soldiers.
  14. This is nothing like Naboo and Gungans. "Millennia before the rise of the Galactic Republic, Kashyyyk was a member world of the Rakatan Infinite Empire. Its surface was terraformed by the Rakata for agricultural purposes, but the collapse of their empire left their terraforming machines unattended, resulting in the planet's abnormally large foliage. Czerka Corporation and slavery: In 4,020 BBY, Kashyyyk was discovered by Czerka Corporation, which renamed the planet first G5-623 and then, after a poll of stockholders, Edean. They recognized the Wookiees' strength and began to enslave them. In 3,993 BBY during the Great Hunt, the Jedi Guun Han Saresh died on the planet fighting a terentatek. During the Mandalorian Wars, the Mandalorians considered conquering Kashyyyk, although they eventually decided against it; their plans for assault included burning down huge sections of forest and glassing entire continents in order to actually create a place to fight. Sometime after the Mandalorian Wars began, self-exiled Jedi Jolee Bindo made his home on the forest floor of Kashyyyk. In 3,976 BBY, Zaalbar, a Wookiee who later aided Jedi Revan, had been banished from Kashyyyk and his brother, Chuundar, usurped the position of Chieftain from his father, Freyyr. Chuundar allowed the Czerka to take Wookiees as slaves in exchange for weapons. Freyyr went into self-exile to the Shadowlands of Kashyyyk. Czerka's control of "Edean" was disrupted when, in 3,956 BBY, the enslaved Wookiee populace, led by Freyyr and Revan, overthrew the local corporate headquarters and drove all outsiders off the planet, save for the Ebon Hawk crew." This could totally fit into the current story of the game. You appear to be the one that knows little of the Star Wars canon.
  15. I was more going for the it's not a narcotic because it's not an opiate, so medically I suppose. Yes, I know this is debatable as well because it is sleep inducing and a pain reliever. Not to mention narcosis is state that can be induced by THC, or alcohol for that matter. I just think opiate when I hear narcotic.
  16. I hope to finally get my lvl 34 sage to 55 so I can do the Korriban FP when it's released. All my characters are Imps but I have wanted a FP on Korriban since release, pretty stoked. How come so many people avoid the double xp? Crowds? Trying to level slower?
  17. THC is not a narcotic, just saying. Using said non-narcotic does not make someone immature. Some of us live in WA, CO and outside the other US States btw. Not that I agree with what Darth says, I was just putting that out there.
  18. Oh come on TUXs, their thinly veiled attempt to insult me didn't help. I'll admit the mouth breather response was over the top, and was directed more towards the poster than I had wanted, and not the group of people that deserve the title. He just happened to be the first person with the stupid cliche'd response of " you're scared to play on a PvP server". I am not going to apologize for how I feel about a good portion of PvP'rs especially when their attitudes prove my point. Yes, I was insulting a good portion the PvP community. Do I think they are all like that? Of course not.
  19. Nice try, I figured I get a stupid mouth breather response like this. Your post is an excellent example of why I don't play on PvP servers. Besides, the PvP servers are generally a bunch whiny little brats that want the game catered to them and every class nerf'd but their own because >80% can't properly play their class if they have to use more than 3 skills. The major reason I chose a PvE server is because I started playing this game with a larger group of people. We were more concerned with end game raiding and PvE content in this game than PvP (pretty big Star Wars fans). If you think there aren't any good PvP players on PvE servers you clearly have no clue. As I stated, I am not really into Warzones (I'm generally burnt out in playing PvP for last few years anyway, guess I'm getting old), and I am one of the few in my guild that doesn't PvP much in this game. They don't take it very seriously either, they save that for LoL. I enjoy world PvP, not Warzones (I used to play a lot of the first GW arenas, those are the only ones I've enjoyed), and just because a server is labelled PvP doesn't mean there is any good world PvP, or skilled players. So really, PvP servers don't offer what I want I want in this game.
  20. I would be 100% behind something similar to Rift, that was brilliant. Souls are more like class trees though. I could probably get behind something like being able to choose 3 trees out of the 6. It might completely botch the game up for a while (especially PvP), but it would certainly add more variety, and accomplish the same outcome.
  21. You have some valid points. I suppose it would be nice if players could test the waters so to speak. I'm just not convinced letting people switch AC is the way to go. Maybe, a slight maybe, if it was a one time switch. It could be "renewed/retained player interest and additional revenue", which of course is good, but you have to weigh that against how many people would have spent that extra sub time and money to level from 1 to 50. You could say that is lost revenue because they found a faster way and spent less time in the game. It's hard to say without the proper metrics. It's a slippery slope, but your reasoning is pretty sound.
  22. We couldn't drive until we were 25 either.
  23. I was simply pointing out the status quo. I can assure you if it changed my feelings wouldn't get hurt
  24. It doesn't necessarily appeal to me either to re-do all the starter planets. However, I did it anyway because I wanted a more classes at cap. That's usually how it works in most games. You know, actually leveling a character to raise their level.
