  1. @ EnanoMaldito: I have seen plenty of people post in the Ops forums, and other places generally speaking, always complaining and thrashing Operative healers. And I stand by my original statement...I think anyone can be a viable Operative healer for Ops (potentially even better than a Sorc depending on the player) but it's all based on how you play the class. @ Bohnur: I am not trying to say "Ops are great at healing! LRN2OP, all you baddies, just like me!". I am not, nor will I ever go on any forum anywhere and claim to be the best ever. Also, I stated explicitly in my post that I was referring to my experience healing PVE Operations. I just think that if people spend some time learning the nuances of the class and working with the tools given, it just isn't all that bad. @ SpoeMeister: You are correct. I don't PvP and I know I am not that great at it, I won't pass judgement on Ops healers in PVP because I do not have any real first-hand knowledge of the challenges PVP presents to Ops healers. As I stated in my original post...yes, there are things that need to be fixed, and yea there balance issues. But until that happens, you work with what you've got and try to be your best as an Ops healer (and pray that BW fixes us right!!) or you re-roll!
  2. Just gonna post my 2c being a full Medic healer who has healed all T1 normal Ops and most of the T1 Hardmode Ops. The people who keep saying that operatives 'are terrible healers' obviously a) don't play an Operative healer or b) don't know how to make the most of the tools they are given. I am so tired of people implying that Operative Healers = crap. It's not the case. I have been very successful at healing end-game content. The most challenging fight so far (imo) is Heavy Fab. If my guild can heal that fight successfully with me as an Operative healer and a Sorc healer (who is also doing consoles), then Operatives can't be the bottom-of-the-barrel healers lots of folks try to make us out to be. Are there glaring disparities between the healing classes? Yes. Are there serious issues with the current Medic talents that need to be fixed? Absolutely. But, it is possible to adapt and be a viable healer, even with the challenges we are presented with, through no fault of our own. RN has it's uses, and could definitely be made better - but that could be said about the entire Medic tree as a whole. Bottom line is, until BW decides to address the issues, you do your best to excel with the tools you are given. That is part of the fun of MMO's, mastering your class to be the best you can no matter what.
  3. /signed Hopefully we get some visablity with the devs and hopefully at a bare minimum some acknowledgement that they realize there are in fact serious problems with broken abilities and a sub-par healing tree (comparatively speaking).
  4. /signed I do not like the new CD indicator changes on the HotBars. Please give options for how we can set up CD indicators on our hotbars or allow external mods/addons to do it.
  5. I think alot of the 'disrespect' for OP healers is the fact that people who don't play them don't really 'get' the mechanics of this spec's healing. The energy resource and how it works for us does not operate the way people are used to for healers. In my personal experience, most of the other people in my guild didn't have the first clue about what operatives bring to the table as healers, because most of them had just never had the experience of partying with them (let's face it, it's not exactly a hugely popular choice overall). I myself was skeptical when I hit 50 as to my viablity as a healer in HM FPs and end-game operations, but after some experience healing Ops and healing HM FPs I have no doubt that we are a completely viable healer for both types of content. Granted, there are significant improvements that can be made to make the class better - but that being said...if you want to do end-game and you enjoy and are confident playing an Op healer, tell the guild who told you to re-roll to stuff it, and find a guild that's a better fit for you and is willing to consider you based on your abilities as a player/healer.
  6. Sith Wyrm is more heavily populated on the empire side. It's an east coast PVE server and I have seen a pretty steady population in the evenings since launch, and I have been on some during the day and it's definitely not a complete ghost town. Except for maybe first thing in the morning.
  7. It is a very well known fact that there are absolutely, positively no women on the interwebs. (if you take this seriously I have a nice bridge I would like to sell you...)
  8. That's a crappy situation for your 'friends' to put you in for sure. I think it's a tad bit insensitive of your 'friend' to tell you that you have no right to be upset. Don't know what server you're on, but if you happen to be on Sith Wyrm, and are looking for guildies that won't abandon you, send me a PM
  9. Also playing light side IA. The only thing I have seen is that I got a quest reward for a color crystal that I couldn't use because I was light side. The upside is, it was BOE so it wasn't totally wasted! I really enjoyed playing light side with this class.
  10. /signed I agree 110% !! I like the fact that we actually get tons of usable abilities and such, but we need more real estate to use them! More action bars plx!
  11. I agree. I am playing an IA and am working on the romance with Vector and I am enjoying every minute (Aside from the quirky convo bugs...) I think he's a great companion, I love the story and everything about it. Sorry you don't like Vector as a romance option, but that doesn't mean everyone thinks it's bad!
  12. bumping to first page to get some visibility. Come on folks, there are tons of these posts, lets consolidate and try to get a response out of the BW devs. Some kind of Operations Guide explaining loot mechanics, resets, etc. would kill so many birds with one stone.
  13. I understand how the loot system works for Flashpoints, my (and other players') concerns have more to do with the 'unknowns' about how Operations loot is supposed to work. I realize that items are being auto-looted in normal mode operations and there is some more control on other difficulty modes, my whole point is, there is nothing that I have been able to find 'officially' from BW about how loot was designed/programmed to work in end-game operations, and this is important to know. That is what I am asking for. An explanation from BW Devs about how they intend for it to work, officially. There was an indication during Beta that they were going to use the 'loot bag' concept, but that doesn't appear to be the iteration that made it to the production version of the game.
  14. In an attempt to consolidate the community's concerns on these two issues, I would ask that folks /sign this thread to bring this to BW's attention and hopefully spur a response from the BW devs that will provide a detailed explanation of: 1. How is the loot system for Operations supposed to work in each difficulty level? Is the 'loot bag' concept dead, and has it been replaced by something else? If so, what? 2. Is the current system implemented at launch 'working as intended' or are there some bugs with how it's actually working today? Are there any plans to fix the bugs if they exist and when can we anticipate these changes? 3. When can we anticipate the /roll function being added to the game? As many players/guilds are venturing into/towards the end-game content, it would be helpful to have an 'official' explanation of how the loot systems in Operations are intended/designed to work, as well as having the ability to /roll for loot if groups/players prefer this method for loot distribution. Here are some of the other threads that reference these topics: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=25697 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=103864 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=102567 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=98527 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=86766 I am sure there are more, but these are just the more recent ones I have seen. Devs, I love this game, and I am sure I share this opinion with hundreds of thousands of your subscribers, so please - look at this issue and help your customers/fans/subscribers by giving us some information on what is apparently a very hot topic.
  15. Posted on some other threads regarding the SWTOR loot systems. BW really needs to come out with a detailed explanation of how the loot system is supposed to work in Operations (all flavors of difficulty) and explain if this system is currently 'working as intended' or is bugged?
  16. /bump to keep this alive and hopefully get some info from BW Devs about the loot system overall in SWTOR! We NEED this /roll function and we NEED info on how the loot systems in SWTOR are supposed to work. Thanks in advance BW!
  17. Regardless of what this level of difficulty was designed for, the loot system clearly is not adequate, even if it is supposedly 'working as intended'. Again, it would be nice for BW Devs to clearly define the loot systems in place today for end-game operations so there is no more confusion or ambiguity on how it should or should not be working. Or if there are bugs/issues with the loot systems in the normal modes, tell us that too and give us an idea of when we will see a resolution.
  18. /bump This is going to present a major problem as more guilds venture into end-game operations in the coming days/weeks if they plan to use some sort of random roll system for loot distribution. Also, can anyone confirm/deny the 'loot bag' concept where each player receives their own 'drops' off a downed boss? I would love to see BW come out with an official response explaining in detail the loot systems in both flashpoints and operations.
  19. As a guild leader of a guild that plans to start doing Operations in the near future, I am also interested in this. Would be really great if the Devs released some specific information explaining how Operation loot drops work in the varying modes of difficulty. I know there were some discussions on this before during the beta, but I haven't really been able to find anything 'official' that describes the loot process in Operations. Thanks in advance Devs, I think a lot of people would really appreciate this information.
  20. They made a post a couple days ago announcing the SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. If you have any history of playing MMO's, weekly maintenance that lasts several hours should not be some new and puzzling development. These scheduled maintenance windows usually last several hours, and in my experience in 'other' MMO's, the servers were rarely back up at precisely when they announced the maintenance window would end. Get used to weekly maintenance, it makes a better game in the long run! In the mean time, go eat, take a shower, hug your family/pets/plants/whatever and get some fresh air people! <3
  21. Actually, they were not 'forcefully deployed' anywhere. It was pretty clearly communicated that if your guild did not like the server that you were deployed on you could 'forcefully' decide not to make the guild on the designated server and chose another. IF that discussion did not occur within the guild, blame the guild leadership, not BW.
  22. Do you have your Jawa hood pulled back or is it like, full on face press, hood and all? (forum avatar reference...)
  23. I was a general beta tester for approx. 2 months and I didn't pre-order the game until October. I know lots of people who pre-ordered the Delux and CE editions that NEVER got into beta until the last couple of big beta weekends. To compare...I am not in early access yet (beta-tester), but a couple of the folks I know that pre-ordered on day 1 are (non beta-testers). Your statement is false and your logic is flawed.
  24. Sorry if my post was misleading and/or confusing, I did order from Walmart, but not the CE.
  25. I didn't order the CE from Wal-Mart, and my order has been in the 'Processing'status for a few days now. I contacted Customer Service via email and finally received a response yesterday indicating that my order for the standard edition will be shipped to ARRIVE BY 12/20/2011. I know that may not be too helpful to the people waiting on their CEs given that there seems to be limited availability, but hopefully it will encourage folks who have ordered other versions from Walmart that they should get theirs by the time Early Access ends.
