  1. You will never change the mind of the "Biodrones" that frequent any negative post, that appears on this forum. The cynic in me believe that these people are actually Eric and Amber and Courtney under aliases vehemently defending the game come hail or high water. Or maybe they are EA stooges being paid in Cartel coins for every post they make on these forums...I mean they don't enjoy the game either, despite their rhetoric. They are never in the game they can't be, they seem to spend day and night posting in any thread that in any way shape or forum criticises the game.
  2. Makeb was well into development before the game even launched....lol. How long then did it take to get released and lets not forget that they pulled chunks of it out after F2P launched to keep their 8 week cadence, so what may have been a sizeable expansion turned out to be merely a DLC.
  3. I would just like to point out that Jeff Hickman in one of the few video blogs they did referred to that xmas speeder as "Awsome"...so forgive me if I would rather wait and see if it is actually awesome before I buy into any hype from the company. Also if something is mentioned but then they say it is on the wall of crazy...it will be years before it is in game...if ever. The -FTP section...while it would be nice to have more people in WZ's and such going that route makes me feel my sub is even more worthless if a FTP player gets more for nothing. And 2.2 is supposed to be less than 4 weeks away and it is "huge" but of course no details given...it would be nice to be surprised but I cannot see anything "huge" coming in so short a time after Makeb.
  4. Nice that you were able to talk to them in person, I will never have that luxury, the thing is though they are having meetings about what to do...nothing in this game comes quickly unless it is on the Cartel Market. Will there be any veterans left by the time they work something out...just seems like more stall tactics to me. There are 2 big MMO's coming very soon, I play this because it is Star Wars if it was anything else I would have bailed a long time ago. I am on the Australian servers and I can tell you we especially are not feeling like valued subscribers being constantly ignored about what or when or transfers are happening. A little communication would go very far with my community. But it is the weekend now so nothing more will be said or done till Monday, I am happy you had the chance to talk with them, have a great weekend.
  5. I wish they would give candid interactions on the forums...would love to go to one of these and actually be able to have a conversation with these guys but not much chance of that living in Australia. Doubt the cantina tour would ever come here especially now they are going to shut down our servers.
  6. Am hoping someone does as well, living in Australia I have next to zero chance to ever going to one of these.
  7. I really don't know how Bioware could have so completely stuffed up PVP or more pointedly Illum. I mean for starters it's not like world PVP is a new thing to MMO's it isn't. How hard would it have been to take the concept of the battle for Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back and Old Republicfy it for this game. It could have been glorious! Or even just look at other games that do World PVP and steal from them but put a SWTOR feel to it. Instead we got Illum at launch which was a disaster, then they retooled it for almost a year and we got PVP in a PVE quest line which I am sorry to say is just horrendous. All these guys supposedly have up to10 plus years in the MMO industry...it sure doesn't look that way at our end.
  8. See this video from the Guild Summit from April LAST YEAR, Daniel Erickson talking about Roleplaying feature in the game. At 2:10 in the video he talks about chat bubbles...and he states that they think they have the performance issue worked out. That is 13 months ago we still don't have chat bubbles and if asked about it, they just tell the same story that they had them in beta they wrecked performance, they took them out. Why do they not mention what happened to their supposed fix...13 months ago. Would have been fixed in a week if they could figure out how to justify putting them on the Cartel Market for $$$. Link to the video...
  9. They put character renames on the Cartel Market for $10 and every subscriber is supposed to get one free, but that didn't make it in time for the patch...though the money version did. Don't be surprised if paid transfers appear and we get thrown the old, the free ones we promised you are coming...just not yet. Is it evil...or just standard fare for EA/Ware.
  10. Dude...your not supposed to remember that, lol. If you watch the guild summit videos from May last year, chat bubbles are discussed and they actually say they know what the problem was and they think they have a solution for it so expect them in the not to distant future. Then they were asked about it in December and they just reiterated that they caused to much lag in game with no mention of what they said at the guild summit.
  11. Once again we get the standard smoke and mirrors and redirection in their responses. "We hear you, can't give any details today, please stay tuned". Stall tactics, they do this all the time...just ask anyone in the APAC server merge thread...they get a bone in that thread around every 3 months with the exact same response as Eric and Corey's posts today. Subscribers on the APAC servers in no way feel "valued", ignored would be more accurate. It take this company an eternity to do anything, from bug fixes to content updates...unless of course it is for their beloved cash shop, miracles happen there.
  12. Maybe you just need to cut out the middlemen and have the devs read the forums themselves instead of you guys sugar coating it. I also love when it comes to things not being listened to or implemented they use the excuse that the forums are a minority most players don't come on here. Yet you announce that all subscribers will be given a free character name change, but at a later date and you put the paid version on the Cartel Market. So how is the bulk of your subscribers not going to ripped off by paying the $10 when their is a free one coming and by your own admission most of the player base will not be aware of it. Half the time this official site is the last to be given an update of something...or is that a SW:TOR mini game spot which social media, fan site has the information on what's coming in your game. You ignore all the major asks on the forums, respond to fluff or silly posts and continue to nickel & dime your paying subscribers who have loud and clearly stated that they feel their subscription is not worth it anymore.
  13. Well they said paid transfers would be hot on the heels after patch 2.1 and I would have thought the free Aussie transfers would have been the test run for that but who knows, we are being totally ignored so far.
  14. I always love in these games being held hostage to a game feature such as a name by people who no longer play or pay. Heaven forbid we upset a player who may or may not ever come back to the game, though they don't mind upsetting current players when they do server merges and the like because they have a shoddy system in place and someone has to loose out on the name. Of course there are ways around this such as Cryptics naming policy being username@loginname all players get the name they want in that game...and Bioware could have done the same by making Legacy names unique instead of player names...but no they did not do that. As to naming purges I say go for it...don't subscribe/login for 3 months name is up for grabs if someone tries to use it...for serviceman and the like put a system in place to pay for a name hold with Cartel Coins...easily solved. This however will never be done...
  15. It IS bait & switch as some subscribers who would have used their free name change have now gone ahead and paid for it, either because they did not know a free one is coming or they were impatient. If Bioware held back till both were ready this would not happen and it would look better for them as a company. This just reeks of money grabbing and will cause problems for their CS team down the road. I am not interested in the name change as such...I do have a character I wish to rename but for me there is no point at the moment as I am on an Australian server that is soon to be shut down so I will probably loose all my character names when I get to transfer.
  16. And rob EA/Ware the opportunity to fleece more money out of you...that rare dye is but a roll of the dice away...so do you feel lucky? well do ya?
  17. Character Rename has finally made it into SWTOR, we have been promised this for so very long and now it is in the game...Cartel Market. Subscribers were promised a free rename (we were actually promised a few renames but they have reneged on that, Legacy/Guild) but a few days ago we were told there is a problem giving out the free rename. Okay they have offered free items to subscribers since launch, that system has been in place and working for the last 18 months, now all of a sudden it is not working? Instead of holding back the Character Rename on the Cartel Market until they give out the free one they put it there ready to go at 1000CC. This is a blatant bait & switch, money grab. If they cared at all about their subscribers they would have held off till their so called problem was fixed. There is NO problem they just know there are many out their who for various reasons will not wait and pay for it. A lot of subscribers I have talked to are not even aware we are getting a free name change, these ones who have now forked over their money will be on the forums complaining when/if we get our free token. This would have been avoided quite easily by holding off putting the rename on the Cartel Market.
  18. Well the OP did not know the free one was delayed ...most playing the game and purchasing it right now have no idea that there is even a free name change coming either. And yes I would rather they hold off on selling an item they are going to give to subscribers for free till both are ready to go...that is the sensible thing to do.
  19. Though naturally there was no problem at all getting it on the Cartel Shop for real money. They should have held off on it till it was all available...now some will use it and when they are granted the free one demand their money back...this just creates problems.
  20. For Builds, rotations and gearing I use Noxxic site...very good at showing good builds for PVE and PVP. http://www.noxxic.com/swtor
  21. What is the point of the name change if we still cannot get the name we want...When I transferred over to the APAC servers I had all my names reserved that I had been able to get during early access, however we had to delete our placeholders just before the transfer happened as at the time your system didn't allow for the rename option it does now. In that short space of time someone took my mains name and I was told there was nothing that could be done. I believe that player got that character to level 21, played for a month and has not touched it since so they would seem to no longer play the game...for over a year, but I cannot have the name back for fear of upsetting that player should they come back. I am a subscriber, have paid and played since early access why do you fear more upsetting a random potential sale than a loyal paying customer...it does not make sense. Edit: Oh and yeah when the APAC servers are closed I will loose 7 of my 8 character names if I was to go back to the Harbinger. I know to alot of people names are not important...they are to me. I have known these character since early access as these names....I will NOT be happy if I loose my names to people who DO NOT play the game anymore.
  22. They will not allow it to be dyed... ...and coming in a future Cartel pack will be that version of the Triumvirate armor...why give you something when they know you will fork out a fortune for it in an upcoming pack. Yes I am that cynical now, unfortunately.
  23. Well said...I fully support this post. I lost my main's name when we moved to the APAC servers through no fault of my own to someone who played the game for a month and has never played that character since. (Put player on friends list) I have now checked and I will lose 7 out of my 8 character names if I move to The Harbinger, I know there are alot of people who don't care what their toon is called but I for one do and have invested a lot of time in them and would like to keep the names I picked at early access.
