  1. i do feel like my queue times on Harbs is starting to feel like they were on PoT5 about 2 months before transferring.
  2. Not sure if its a different saying or a translation. Here its "out os sight, out of mind." I'll actually agree with you,on it not being obvious so l9ng as you learned from it after the first time. Everybody does dumb things eventually somewhere, and here; you could take some unnecessary insults, but the important part in both to me, is to own it and learn from it. Dont blame others and ignore insults.
  3. Yay. Id say, that maybe it would be cool to increase odds of getting a cool item by PvPing; but ive seen, what happens by drawing in people who dont really want to be there.
  4. Wouldn't mind some hype to breathe some life into this place; thats for sure.
  5. Yeah; I don't get it. Only thing I can figure is in regs they are tough to kill and put up good totals at the end of the match probably due to up time. People reading too much into that.
  6. This is pretty accurate right here. Eng is a utility spec in PvP. PVE it probably does better because NPCs stand in the AOEs. In PvP; you use that to herd people and provide node protection. About the only way I could see you getting more damage out of it without adding damage to PvE would be if one of the AOEs stuck to a target rather than ground; but then you'd be ruining some of that utility that some people really like about the spec.
  7. Hate to admit it, but I let it happen to me. LOL
  8. Well; we may here something next week. Or we will only hear about ranked rewards. Who knows? Probably best to not get your hopes up but there is another "expansion" (more chapters) coming up.
  9. The 5 person arena team is a bug. I had it happen to me and I left when I saw we had 5. All I know is I was a midbie and traveled to a planet that scaled me down while I was waiting for a queue pop. Thought maybe that had something to do with it but I couldn't duplicate the issue.
  10. I would say this is the hard part. We have a decent amount of DCDs on sniper/slinger TBH; but things like evasion only last 1 GCD. Shield probe under focus; probably less than a GCD. Roll for 1 GCD; up to 2 times if you use your reset and you should in an arena. Ballistic Dampers will last 3 GCDs at least and you have to remember to reset every 6 seconds, and that's why you must take that utility point. This along with ballistic shield can make you pretty tanky for a little bit. Diversion drops accuracy of targets quite a bit so use it for more than just harassing other snipers. Problem is; targets have to stay in it. The frustrating part will come in if you do all of this, manage to last a couple minutes without getting a single peel or possibly even a heal with a healer on your team (They might have a dedicated pressure); and die only to see your team not even come close to killing an enemy healer. I think that frustration is common an any class when it happens but its extra annoying if you are a class that is constantly focused without much of an escape. (Roll can help but your team will probably try to fight on a bridge or back near a wall or something like that.) And then while being frustrated by being focused; also taking all the blame for the loss.
  11. Someone in a warzone go from enemy to teammate right in front of you? Just had a CW imp vs imp and I took west; and I saw an enemy running from east toward my direction, so I call West Inc. We had capped south really quick but I was surprised to see 2 coming so I was like "It's just 1 guys." but by the time he got up to out area, he turned colors right before my eyes! A bit befuddled; I shrugged and since there was 3 of us there I headed toward south to defend what had to be where the enemy was, only to get there and see all of 1 dancing around near their base. It looked like there were only 3 or 4 enemies total, so that was another head scratcher. Eventually more showed up and we at least had a death match at south but it was pure stupid. Earlier in the night; I am quite sure that when my fiance randomly came in the room yapping at me; I gave up a double cap in AHG and this was after they had stalled my team a round earlier to where we had no pylon; yet somehow the score flipped or maybe I flipped teams, and we got a double cap and won. I have no idea what happened. It was like this all night where it seemed things just went my way even when I wasn't playing all that well, like I couldn't lose and it frankly got kind of boring and frustrating at the same time. Anyone seeing things acting funny like this? I don't know. I was randomly back into this game and excited to play it for the past couple weeks, but I have lost steam and weird stuff like this doesn't help. Maybe I will sleep on it and see where I am tomorrow.
  12. Not as good as others. My favorite tactic in Voidstar lately seems to be to just try to cap behind enemies while they attack allies. Works wayyyy too often.
  13. What if they removed the brackets completely; and then did matchmaking based on character level for each team with cross faction; and had a hidden player rating to match off of as well and every character started at the lowest possible rating?
  14. They know who butters their bread and which side I guess.
  15. That was a hell of a finish! haha I'm glad it was a Quesh Huttball as I never have quite figured out how I want to play that map. Between you and Valn; gives me some good ideas. Thanks
  16. I'm amazed how often it worked last night. Outside of that voidstar; I had another one where I did that once as well as disarmed a bomb by coming out of spawn and going out and around to the far side for the approach. They were so focused on pinning my teammates at the spawn area for some reason.
  17. I know what bolster does. You are missing the point. I'm not talking about changing things for my derp. I'm talking about what the experience would be for a brand new player. They probably have never even heard of the term "bolster" for this game, so how are they going to know to go look for it? I've used it to level most of my toons as well; but that was before the level cap bolster existed and I would say the old version would have been a much better experience to new players. That's the key. Getting rid of it was just one option just to prevent new players from running into this. I'd much rather have a tutorial or something to walk people into it better but it's not likely to happen. Another thing I noticed last night is I queued into midbies with a toon that had been moth balled a long time and got a pop up saying my weapons were reducing the ideal expertise due to my MH and OH weapons. I look at it and see I have 2 expertise crystals and am sitting at around 1700 expertise so I leave and swap those out. I did not get any such message when I popped in with a new character that was just plain out missing gear in slots and was sitting at all of 700 expertise. Would be nice if they could just extend that message to that at very least. All I am saying is to make it more accessible for new players like bolster intended by reducing the chance they have a bad experience from something they have no way of knowing about by simply playing the game. PvP in this game has been declining rapidly as those who have been around a long time have left or became jaded. It all will come crashing down at some point without new faces.
  18. I just had a similar match. Not sure I "carried" with my operative but it was a voidstar and at the beginning, I noticed the enemy move out from the door to engage my team. I capped the first door, right behind about 5 or 6 of the enemy. I didn't get the bridge but I flashbanged someone while a teammate did, then killed him once the bridge was down, then capped 2nd door right behind the enemy again. Got the far forcefield down, then capped the far door from there again right behind the enemy. LMAO. No MVP votes. Not a single one even after we all laughed about it. Image or results. Im shing-splat http://i.imgur.com/2c6iDA3.jpg
  19. Thanks for the vid. Explains a lot. I still like the shortened cloaking screen over a 2 second root though.
  20. For sure. It gives me some ideas on maps that are like that and it helps me when I am on my operative a lot to see how you play it.
  21. Didn't see your first one. The 2nd one was a fun watch. Would be great for people who probably dont even bother to come to the forums
  22. Nah I mean I just use it to be a derp myself and that its easier for me to learn because I have less abilities to worry about when Im picking up a class I haven't played for a long time, rather than go be a drag on teammates in 65.
  23. I don't disagree with any of that. I'd rather not have the GW2 way of going about it because I know I personally use generally midbies to learn a class a bit; and it would defeat the purpose if everyone had all of their abilities. I might as well queue in as a 65 at that point. Again; my only point is it could make a bad first impression. I know it falls on def ears with Bioware and I am sure it is too late to worry about that with this game. I'm not even thinking it needs to be balanced. Whether that is eliminating lowbies all together and starting at 40 to assuming level 69 bracket. Just that alone I think would give a better impression as people will likely know more of the game mechanics and would have at least most if not all of their armor slots filled.
  24. It's short; but it could be the first taste any new players would have. For all the was complained about being a fresh 50 back in the day; you could at least get experience leading up to it in the lowbies. Now that fresh 50 feeling is actually being bolstered onto new players who have no clue what they are walking into.
  25. LMAO! YOu do get rewards! I didn't know that. Going to go to the PvP terminal was the first quest. Ironic quest seeing as I had to click on it to get the mission to begin with. It should just pop up the quest completion window. I just grabbed the quests and kept on going to DK and queued while I ran. I'm trying to relearn my darkness sin. My sin and shadow are both at level 64 so I figured a new toon would be a better way to learn it again. I didn't even have dark charge at level 11. All I could do was thrash, shock, lightning, jolt pretty much. Is fine I guess; but nothing really darkness about it.
