    Is SWTOR dying?

Except for World of Warcraft, and EVE.
  2. But its misleading since its not actually anyone's base health and Exp is matched against the bonus HP on PvE gear based on what they expect a player's real base health to be. The formula for and stat allocation for Exp isn't based around people with 7k hp. So you're completely misrepresenting the stat. And since this is a stat rating, min/max thread, this leaves a huge hole in theorycrafting... which makes the whole post moot. And LOL @ the guy who thinks BM is "easy" to get.
  3. Yeah so... in trying to prove which set of gear is best for a player, you left out 70% of the equation, including base health. Which makes it all a waste of time, and pretty misleading. But of course some people will just see a wall of math and go "Ooooh that SOUNDS smart, must be true!"
  4. Hide in bugged doors while planting/defusing bombs so people can't target you with anything other than AoE.
  5. My PT has no problems with Mara... so dunno where this "best 1v1 evah!" garbage is coming from. I do know where the "weaksauce" garbage is coming from. People who quit playing Mara before 40-50 because at lower levels they ARE the worst class in the game. Also every class in the game has a million buttons... seriously go level some alts, you'll see. Then you can also get over your "Mara take uber skillz" garbage too. Because they don't, they just take patience while you level up and get some epics.
  6. Yeah, I know about those. I'm talking about regular combat skills.
  7. Which doesn't affect Tech/Force skills, which is how people do like 80% of their damage. I've had it happen to me where my skills just wont work because I get a message saying "target isn't vulnerable" or some such.
  8. *** is this nonsense? Another "easter egg" like the water? I just started running into it in the last week, against multiple classes. Every time you try to attack them nothing happens, and you get message saying they are not vulnerable. Seems to last 5-10 seconds.
  9. Really ALL they need to do, is make knocbacks fill the resolve bar.
  10. Yup... in fact they may not even bother using a knockback with this uber strat of "Run headlong into ranged classes" because you will already be half dead by time you get into melee so they wont feel threatened enough to waste the GCD on a knockback.
  11. And then MW3 made more money than Avatar... so clearly theres a HUGE market for people who want kill other people in video games. Its just a matter of finding a studio that will do it right.
  12. Yes and no. I was in WAR for a good chunk of CB and after launch. The RvR was without a doubt better... but it suffered from A LOT of other problems that drove/kept people away. Not gonna beat that dead horse... but going with 2 factions was clearly a bad Long Term choice. And the IP would've easily supported at least half a dozen factions if they really wanted to do something wild.
  13. I'm not talking about TM today... i'm talking about Vanilla, even a year after launch. Trying to keep it apples to apples. I came into TOR with low expectations for World PvP... I just wanted a game I could play at least for a few months and have fun running into random people in random places and fighting them, throw in some WZs and i'd be content. Never happened. And I have rolled Republic alts too... the cross over space on most planets is minimal.
  14. Wait you mean an FPS where everyone has exactly the same HP and weapons? Thats where shallow, unskilled players should go? Wow... you probably shouldn't even be posting in the PvP forums... you really don't know what you're talking about.
  15. And also because it was a shared zone, and each town was a stone's throw away from the other. You could respawn and get right back into the fight. It was almost as if, I dunno, Blizzard created their game world with Player Versus Player conflict firmly in mind. Compared to TOR where they devs actually went to the trouble of putting a literal sea of death on one of their planets (Tat) to keep players away from the opposite faction. And the one spot on that planet that was supposed to encourage PvP, Outlaws Den, was killed off a week after release. No more chests, no more harvesting nodes, no reason to go other than to buy a speeder... since you don't even get any valor for killing people there.
  16. These topics always give you a good idea of whose played MMOs before WoW and who hasn't (i need gear for kills, i don't like surprises, I prefer the comfort and security of my hamster wheel).
  17. WoW's world PvP has never died TBH, it just comes in spurts with every new Expac or zone they release, and then goes back to sleep after a few months. And it was definitely there for the entire year+ before Battlegrounds went into affect. Nothing like enemy guilds deciding to raid UBRS or MC at the same time. And thats the problem with this universe. No spontaneity. Hell speaking of feeling lifeless 90% of the NPCs don't even move around... they all just sit in little clusters. *********** EQ1 felt more alive than this game. =(
  18. OP is not a troll.. And I agree with him. I went from 1-50 and only saw 3 Republic players in that time. 1 was in a far off corner of Tatt after I ran over a republic speeder hub and died to guards. 1 Was a random guy on Alduran who must've been lost and stumbled into the Empire questing area. The other was on Belsavis, and we fought once. Speaking of Alduran I got lost there once myself and stumbled into the Republic questing area after jumping off a cliff... I found a cave full of Sith NPCs and I thought "perfect I will find people to fight in here, this place looks important!" I sat in that damn cave for 20 minutes, and nobody came in. BW/EA really went out of their way to make sure you cannot interact with the opposite faction outside of WZs, Ilum (which sucks), and the completely pointless Outlaws Den. I really am about done with this game myself.
  19. Nail'd it. Sad but true. I didn't see my first Rep until Tatt, and had my first open-world PvP on Belsavis, and it was a 1 time thing. Wasn't til I got to Ilum that I had another fight. But Ilum is awful, so I never go there anymore.
  20. Funny that they do then... probably because they have shields, stuns, knockbacks, Mez'es, roots, better defensive CDs, better resource management, etc etc. If you're just standing there spamming heals, ur bad.

  22. And this is why Blizzard didn't release battlegrounds at launch... they cared enough about PvP and their game that they wanted to do it right, and do it well. Ilum is just poorly tested/thought out, tacked on, garbage. Try and tell me AV when it released wasn't at least 10x better than this?

    PVP Knockbacks

The only problem with knockbacks is that they don't add to CC immunity. That DOES need to change... because 1 knockback isn't imbalanced... but getting knocked back every 5-10 seconds is bad game design. Seriously some games as melee I feel like a pinball.
