I've completed four Alderaan WZs on the PTS now and medals seem to be much better for defenders.  However, attacking medals are still very low.  I think this should be changed:

    From:

"When within the control zones of a turret controlled by the opposing team, you will receive 500 attacker points for every player you defeat. "

    To:

"When within the control zones of a neutral turret or turret controlled by the opposing team, you will receive 750 attacker points for every player you defeat. "

It is much easier to defend and get kills than it is to attack and get kills ... especially when the defending team has a healer with them.

I played one match where each team had a turret and we had pretty much a 6 on 6 battle in mid for probably 5 or 6 minutes and nobody was able to capture the turret.  Technically we were both attacking but not getting any kill points (maybe not even attacker points) because the opposing team wasn't controlling the turret (neither team had it).

I'm pretty sure I was in this match with Ziva.  I echo what Ziva is saying here.

I was on the losing team and ended up with over 9 million heals and ended up with only 4 medals in the effort to capture that last node.

  2. Hi Sandstroller!

Like you, I have also been farming the Landing Party uprising as I have desperately been trying to get the Commander Tassar holo deco.  I have NEVER seen it drop and nobody that I know has seen it, either.

The other uprisings seem to drop their respective holo decorations somewhat frequently.

Perhaps we should create a bug report?  Has anyone here seen the Commander Tassar deco drop?

    Thanks!

  3. It's called being an altaholic, and I'll hazard I'm not the only one.

More power to you! I have 70 characters on one account, spanning all of the servers, and I actually spend time playing them all quite a bit. Not sure how on Earth you manage that but with so many accounts!

Impressive, however I don't believe that your scenario really is similar to that many other individuals that play this game.

I still believe that the proposal in the original post would go a long way to address some of the largest issues in this game.

  4. Forcing people to use the GTN again is a wonderful idea. It wouldn't matter if you have obscene amounts of credits if prices for items is still limited, plus GTN taxes would slowly take credits out of the system. So, you say then we'd switch to barter. That's a possibility, but who wants to spend all that time trying to spam fleet trying to trade for items? Some people would, but most would not want to do that.

Yes, I concur. I think the more people use the GTN, the better.

What are your thoughts regarding preventing the withdrawal of money from guild banks? What about having guild banks be only used for repairs, invasions, summons etc? As it stands, guild banks can be used to transfer 4.x billion credits to an individual at a time. If we restricted the withdrawal of funds from guild banks and let them be used only for guild purposes like those things listed above, credit sellers/farmers couldn't use them to bypass the restriction on transferring credits via trade or in-game mail.

If that would be too restrictive, have there be a limit on a full guild bank withdrawal per legacy per week or something like that. Just throwing out ideas here on ways to impact credit sellers but not hurt guilds/players.

    Thoughts?

  5. I have 5 accounts, only one is a sub. The pref accounts cannot withdraw money from a guild bank, so I send toons belonging to those other accounts 950,000 credits, below the 1 million credit cap.

Sorry, I misread what you wrote. I thought you mentioned that you had characters on multiple servers, not multiple accounts.

I'm willing to bet that 99% of this game's player base doesn't have multiple accounts so this wouldn't be an issue for them. I'm not even sure why someone would need that many accounts lol.

    Sorry for misreading your response.

  6. I have 5 accounts, only one is a sub. The pref accounts cannot withdraw money from a guild bank, so I send toons belonging to those other accounts 950,000 credits, below the 1 million credit cap.

I'm against preventing the mailing of credits.

Why don't you use a legacy bank for that?

At some point we need to address the issue at hand with credit sellers and the increasing prices for items. I'd be willing to bet that most people don't mind not being able to mail credits to alts (again, why not use legacy banks?) if it means impacting credit selling and insane prices for items.

I also like giving new players things on starter planets... but I'll give them ITEMS, rather than money. Again, easy trade off if it means diminishing the impact of credit sellers/farmers and channeling all sales through the GTN.

  7. Hello there!

In order to combat incredibly high item prices in SWTOR, reduce the impact/effectiveness of gold sellers, and prevent the 'forcible removal of money' from players as a possible solution, I suggest the following:

    • Remove the ability to send credits through in-game mail and remove the whole COD function

    • Retain the ability to send items through in-game mail

    • Remove the ability to trade credits with another player in the game

    Perceived benefits:

    • I believe that this alone will greatly improve the prices of items in this game as people would be forced to use the GTN and therefore would be capped at the price of 1 billion credits that's already in place.

    • Credit sellers would be greatly crippled by this limitation as well as that is how they likely receive and pay out their sales.

    • All sales would be subject to GTN tax, therefore taking a bit of money out of the economy.

    • You wouldn't lose players (subs) by removing their credits (I have personally been playing this game for 10 years non-stop and have thus built up credits that, if removed by Bioware, would make me quit the game immediately).

    • GTN prices would eventually adjust to the GTN cap and quite possibly lower over time.

Legacy banks would be the preferred way to move money around between your characters. Guilds could reward their top performers by having them take items out of the guild banks, send items via mail, or even grant them a rank that allows them to remove a certain number of credits from the guild bank.

This solution would likely bring in-game GTN prices down, prevent sales from occurring outside of the GTN (and its taxes), prevent credit sellers from sending and receiving money in-game, and might even get Bioware more "real-life money" by getting people to buy items from the CM again instead of from credit sellers.

The only thing that would require more thought and a different solution would be the use/role of guild banks to transfer money around and bypass some of these other limitations.

Thoughts? What angles are we missing here or failing to consider?

    Thanks!

  8. Thanks for the heads-up on this! I had no idea that these sets had been added to those vendors. Do you know when these went live?

Worth noting: the smuggler armor set from Taris is exactly the same as the Revered Chronicler Armor Set (shows up in collections) that you obtain by completing the Shroud story tidbits from the Encrypted Datacubes (show up in the "Toys" section in collections).

Also, if you are interested in collecting all of the sets, you will need at least six inventory bays worth of space lol.

  9. I completely concur with the OP.

This "storymode" operation is absolutely not puggable and shouldn't be in groupfinder in its current state. I can imagine it being soul-crushingly difficult for someone hoping to join a fleet pug and an absolute deterrent for many people that were perhaps looking to get into raiding, maybe initially attracted to the operation due to story.

We need MORE people partaking in operations, not fewer. More raiders not only means a substantially larger pool of raiders to join our teams, but also more SUBS for this game.

You know there is a big issue when clearing R-4 on SM almost feels as satisfying as your first Revan HM kill. LOL

  10. *** Added more from suggestions from my good friend Punkt, the lover of Arcann and Zenith. I don't understand why she hates Skadge though. He's the hottest houk in the galaxy.

    Skadge 0/10 never recommend

    • Stop white-knighting
    • Will never recover
    • Personally insulted

  11. The Elom flashpoint was just another Lana showcase and none of it made sense. Considering

the teams sent on the mission died, what on earth happened to Arcann? He wasn't even mentioned. It was like they'd missed out part of the story and lumped us in at the end. And how on earth did we manage to capture Malgus given the level of power he had only to be recaptured? He freed himself from being manipulated and under Acina/Vowrawn's control only to fail? And all of a sudden we have collective super force powers to subdue him? Did the writers all leave? Or is it all part of Malgus's plan and he's done a deal with Arcann? Nah, that would take some good writing!

Given what they've done so far, I would not be surprised if they scrapped the potential Arcann content they have. As someone else pointed out, they did it to Zenith a few years back; he was supposed to originally return in kotfe iirc correctly and we got him back only recently.

Hi Sarova!! I'm so glad to see you again!

Yeah, we were talking about that very thing today. Why even bother writing that whole scene on Odessen and have us decide whether or not we should send Arcann on this important mission if it wouldn't be brought up again?

Well, apparently we've all had the wrong idea from the start. We were assuming that Arcann was sent to look for Darth Nul's relic on Elom, however Charles Boyd told us today that Elom is not where Arcann was sent. Lana never explicitly states that the planet featured in the briefing is Elom - the name of the planet is never mentioned. We were putting two and two together since we were looking for Nul's relic and intel was pointing us to Elom. Ooops, I guess.

I'd have to assume that most other people were expecting to see Arcann yesterday/today on Elom as well. Are the devs trying to keep the planet where Arcann was sent a secret? Why not explicitly tell us where he is going? Either way, I'm glad to be wrong and we will hopefully see Arcann again in the very near future <3

  12. If their plan is to stagger story updates, it's a bad plan when your stories get shorter and shorter. I can't say I'm overly surprised, I felt it coming with how short Onslaught was compared to previous expansions but honestly they're giving players scraps and calling it an expansion. I can't help but feel like it's making the future of this game look hopelessly bleak and as a long-time player since this game launched it's making me want to never come back because it's not really worth it anymore.

As for Arcann, I'm sure nothing was scrapped, they don't generally do something like that with no payout planned but given the tremendously slow content cadence for this game, it will probably be months before we see it and it won't be worth resubbing for what will probably be like 30 seconds of content.

Well put, Jesira. I absolutely concur with what you said. I have to admit, as someone that's been here non-stop since launch, this is the first time that I'm truly feeling despair and disappointment on a grand scale. Forgetting all of the UI issues and the numerous bugs just for a second, the crumbs of "story" we were given is appalling. We waited almost a full year... for that?

As for what you mentioned about Bioware not usually scrapping content, I have a folder open right in front of me

containing 128 audio tracks that they paid Troy Baker to record for Zenith's original alliance alert (one filled with wonderful story and interactions between Zenith and the different player classes).

Why on EARTH would they scrap something like that after it had already been written and recorded? This is all almost too sad to discuss. I wouldn't be completely shocked if they did something like that to Arcann in this story and Dellums simply didn't know it was cut from the story.

Great, now I've gone and depressed myself even more. Man, oh, man.

  13. I am immensely disappointed (like everyone else). Can we talk about what we think happened?

Most of us assumed that we sent Arcann to Elom and expected to see him there or at least hear about his mission in a letter or something. I was always unsure if he really did go to Elom, because the planet we sent him to is never named in "Whispers of the Force" and Sana-Rae says it's in Wild Space - which Elom is not.

7.0 could make it seem like he went somewhere else entirely. It's just too bizarre that my character who romanced him would go through that entire flashpoint and not at least get one option to mention that he went there (if he in fact did).

We know that Dellums said that he has been recording lines for Arcann. My assumption at this point is that we will get whatever was recorded some months from now. I assume they mean to stagger the story updates. The only other explanation is that they recorded lines for Arcann and just scrapped them - but that's too depressing for me to contemplate.

If we were mistaken in thinking he went to Elom, then it's honestly due to terrible writing. There shouldn't have been any confusion about that.

If he did go there and the writers just forgot or decided to pretend it never happened, then I'm simply lost for words.

Yeah, there's no excuse for this. Why even write the part in the story where we have to make a choice whether or not to send Arcann to Elom if it isn't going to be resolved in the current story ON ELOM? It doesn't make sense to bring him in later on. We've already handled our business on Elom with Malgus.

    There's gotta be an explanation.

Shame on the people that complained about anything related to KOTFE/KOTET - it contains some of the best story, lore, characters, and content we've received in this game, especially when you compare it to the "story" scraps we get now. It is appalling and depressing, to be frank.

  14. Unify colors seems to be bugged within the character sheet. Toggling the unify button for individual pieces seems to do nothing and hitting the unify button at the bottom seems to make every stamped armor piece "permanently" unified.

Anyone know a workaround for this? Any tips?

  15. That states for the MK-85 log mount. There has been a small number of people, and a small number, with the mk-90 mounts and titles already, I have seen them on the live server.

You've seen people with the holo log mounts already?! Oh man.

The friend that I did all of the PTS achievements with just told me that he received the two titles that I'm missing. Big oof.

  16. The devs stated the following in the patch notes:

All PTS rewards have been granted to all eligible players except for Kai Zykken’s MK-85 Log Mount. This reward will be granted with our next patch.

That being said, I also spent 40 hours on the LotS PTS to earn all of the titles and also did not receive:

    The Cutting Edge

    Strike Team Hero

I submitted a ticket in-game already but wanted to let you know that the same thing happened to me. I really hope we can get those titles since we spent so many hours working on that.
