  1. Huh, and here I thought R4 HM is hard enough when everybody is pulling their weight, making it rather tricky to have someone completely slacking However, 15k DPS is not seem that low, from what I can deduce from StarParse leaderboards (unless I am misreading it). Only 25% of player on HM Infernal Council (probably the closest "real boss" to a training dummy, where you can just do your rotation and don't worry about much else) go above 13k (though obviously, the stats do not show iRating)
  2. How does one buy their way to 340 IR gear without being able to clear the content?
  3. Yes, I am 100% certain, because that is how I do new characters. That is, after I figure out a name, which takes me like a month and a half...
  4. Yeah, it would be nice is instanced content for story was not synced to planet level
  5. You find out you made ugly character, just delete it and start over. The likelihood of someone grabbing that name in those 5-10 minutes between deleting and recreating the look is extremely low.
  6. 10 levels won't teach players anything, especially since you can walk through all the solo content blindfolded and not die thanks to the OP healing companions Some people are just not great at the game, for myriad of reasons, but I think it rarely is the desire to be bad. FWIW, I have no idea what my DPS numbers are (I haven't really bothered to check since early 6.0, or maybe even earlier, as I do not run NiMs, but I am pretty sure it is higher than 5k).
  7. The lighting in the new creator is indeed terrible. I have no idea why do people at BW like dark rooms for character creation so much. But, I think it is pretty easy to reroll the character instantly if you find out in the first few conversations that you made a Quasimodo on accident
  8. Migrating everything over to cloud is probably the goal, if everything works as intended on the test server, but the servers will remain separate. As outlined in the article, hosting stuff in the cloud allows for quicker hardware upgrades, better connectivity (datacenters are strategically distributed across the world and connected to ultra-fast fiber optics), etc.
  9. Context matters, my friend, so if a post contains a quote, it is an extremely good idea to read said quote before the post itself As @Darcmoon explained it without being snarky like I am
  10. These are very nice idea But unless I am being exceptionally blonde today, what is the point of Armstech/Armormech kits, as you cannot used them in any combat?
  11. As others pointed out (especially @ceryxp, whose post you apparently ignored), the QT tax does absolutely nothing useful, and is equivalent of putting a bandaid on severed hand. Technically you reduce the amount of blood pouring out, but nothing that would matter. You also assume that people are constantly QTing around, for it to remove billions on credits each day. Majority of end-game content (where the majority of credits is getting generated) do not use QT at all, or maybe 5 (and am am being exceedingly generous with that number) per session. Assuming the max cost of 5000 (which, again, as others have pointed out, is not really the case on "credit generating content"), that is 25k per person. Meaning it would take 40k people using QT 5 times per day and doing absolutely nothing else to remove 1 billion from existence (which then begs the question why are they QTing around if they are not doing anything) And yes, we are debating this particular credit sink in vacuum, because it is the only one presented in any shape or form. People on PTS forums, back when this change was brought up, provided numerous much better ideas that would actually remove billions from the game, and would be targeted at where the real money is changing hands. For example, GTN tax is excellent credit sink, it just needs to be uncapped, and applied to all player-to-player credit transactions. ATM, you can sell items on GTN capped at 1b, with GTN tax eating up 8%. yet you have people selling thing through /trade for costs above 1b pretty frequently. If the same tax was applied, or GTN became uncapped, money would start flowing out of the system at rate that QT tax could not ever dream of achieving.
  12. Obviously sinks are needed, nobody says they are not, but having QT paid for is not it. As people have proven, you can just sell a single CM item and be set for life, or run a heroic Weekly for a month of costs covered. People have provided numerous other ideas on PTS forums that would be more effective and less annoying on the common player.
  13. That just proves how pointless this particular credit sink is, and all it does is annoy people.
  14. This, The Magnificent Giradda the Hutt should start sponsoring exhibition matches in starfighters as well
  15. Indeed, Giradda should get into sponsoring some starfighter exhibition combat
  16. Haven't gone thorough the section with a sniper, but I do not think killing a single gold mob should be much of an issue on a DPS build Not sure about your spec, so I will assume Marksman precast Orbital Strike then Ambush on Medic Once Orbital is done, Maim on Gold Finish off Medic (you have Takedown when he is under 30) Move away when Gold casts his flamethrower Also, defensive buffs (Shield Probe/Ballistic Shield) are your friends there.
  17. Merc/Mando can be decently played with a single 12 slot quickbar, I think the "sweet spot" is around 16 for that class. I do not have 2x12 quickslots filled with stuff I use all the time.
  18. Is it easier to obtain Attacker and Defender points? Yes, this definitely feels like a good gain, and active participation can get me 8+ medals even as TK Sage, something that is extremely difficult now on live Do you feel like you can earn 8 medals even if you do not win matches? I got 8 even when (narrowly) losing a match, but I had to actively participate (which is a good thing) Hard to say how it would look if I got focused more by enemy team and was constantly getting killed How many medals did you earn per match per win/loss? 9 on loss Were matchups fair? As far as they usually tend to be on live, yes If you participated in a match, please describe the makeup of your group and the group you were paired against. Among those actively participating in combat. generally similar to live. Some people are good, some bad, some were there obviously just to grab the participation trophy Feel free to leave general feedback of your experience with matchmaking. Same as on live, but needed me to be playing in good times (expectations of devs participating helped a lot, I think, even in European timezones)
  19. Initial thoughts First load on character seems to be a bit long, though that might be because it was transferred? Subsequent loads seemed normal (SSD) Everything else seems fine, ran around for a bit, spun around like crazy, did not notice any performance drops (though admittedly, everywhere I went to was empty due to me not playing during American times, so I could not test out much in way of stuff exploding around me) PC specs: Intel i7-9700K 48GB RAM RTX2080
  20. Pretty sure this is from the original idea for the very first expansion that got scrapped after the game went F2P and had its funding cut. Its bits and pieces got repurposed for other content over the years. As I recall, it was meant to follow more of the story started in the Annihilation novel, where Gnost plays a big role (alongside Theron) But his first actual in-game appearance is on Ossus Gnost is also the guy who in-universe made all the pre-launch history videos (and it is still the amazing Lance Henriksen voicing him), so he was not an unknown person.
  21. Overall yes, gives me reason to do things I might not normally be tempted to run, because they are less efficient, not my usual cup of tea, etc., but at least it provides some variety. Not really, while they do seem like good idea in theory, be the execution is severely lacking. They are not particularly memorable, nor do they seem to have much of a reason to tag along (nor do many of our character feel like having a reason to let them tag along) The fact they speak various forms of gobbledygook does not help whatsoever. I tend to sort of zone out whenever the "cheap/classic" dialogue system (black bars with conversation options that do not really fell like they matter) pops up. At least having them speak in Basic would be great, though obviously having it completely voiced voice be much better Speaking purely on S3 Weapons: No, absolutely atrocious design, they look like toy guns, previous season had much better designs Armor: Do not really feel unique, just another baggy jacket/pants that are dime a dozen. Decos: Not bad, though the NPCs wear weapons and armor that as mentioned look rather "meh" Mounts: The animals mounts are pretty great looking, the vehicles are bit meh Dyes: I would be very happy to see these go away as rewards altogether (or at very least let us stack Dyes in inventory/banks) I think it is pretty good mix of stuff you can do solo, with a guild in a quick night run Yes, though I would say you might consider reducing the Achievement for 100 Weeklies to something like 75/80. Subscribers usually end the season at some 65-70 weeklies, and the remaining 30 feel a bit like a chore Normally, I do not feel the need to alter my activities that much More ways to spend GS Token for diligent players, or up the cap. I have ran into the limit several times during GS3, and the rewards on vendors were either stuff I already had, or did not find desirable.
  22. Generally, for Story, Damage spec is better, as you can kill stuff faster. But these days, it hardly matters, everything in story dies very quickly, and does not really offer much chance to learn tanking properly. So it is just mostly about flavor of animations. I think Defense has better animations than Focus, but that is just my opinion...
  23. Not sanctions, it is that EU requires MFA on pretty much online payments now. But Steam uses MFA, so that is not a problem. The problem obviously was somewhere between passing the info between Steam and Origin.
  24. Agreed with Steve, if your friend speaks German better than English, he can play the game completely in German (including voices, I do not think you can mix and match audio and text versions). It will not limit him in any way, he can still play with all your other friends who play the game in English, on English server, etc. Just might cause some miscommunications should he refer to something using its German name (mechanic, attack, item if not shift-clicking, etc)
