  1. Don't folks get mail notifications in this day and age? I understand your desire.
  2. This underlines how over my head I am in this culture. That's serious dedication.
  3. Don't get too stressed. It's part of the roll-out. They're going to be able to adjust as data pours in. Nobody is in any queues yet... despite the folks that claim the EGA program is exactly that.
  4. llo... It would be fun to follow the main character spawns for both camps just to see if the complainers went dark and the fanbois went light. I'm sure it's not that simple but it would be interesting.
  5. Certainly it's only a matter of time before MMO's do this. There's already VIP seating at concerts and sporting events. I don't necessarily like it but premiums are all the rage and I'm sure early access will be one of those premiums down the road. Glad to see it didn't happen here.
  6. Having played both Inquisitor and Consular in the betas I can say that both paths were equally enjoyable.
  7. Amazon did mention a server shutdown prior to actual launch. llo.. Wouldn't that create a lot of interesting threads.
  8. I will loose another entire day of productivity being fascinated by the level of melt that's being displayed here. I can only imagine it's going to get even more intriguing. Also I will get to bed before 5AM because when I do get in, I'm going to geek VERY HARD.
  9. I'm going to keep posting this response in threads like this. There are two things that keep me from fretting about this. 1) PVP Gameplay is voluntary and instanced. You're not going to get randomly snipered by a Level 50 operative while you're tending to questing. 2) Per the Game Manual everyone that participates in PVP comes away with good experience and loot. The floor may get wiped with your bloody cloak if you're joining the PVP zones at an early level but eventually you're going to catch up. It's simply a temporal shift not some sort of permanent disability. I understand that there was a matching system that was being worked on for the game as well. It would be quite interesting to see what sorts of decisions the instancing system is actually making on joining a PVP Warzone.
  10. Ditto and I don't expect in until Monday... lol!
  11. It will be balanced because Open World PVP is instanced, no? Perhaps wait times won't be balanced but gameplay should be. Or am I misunderstanding how that works.
  12. lol, I've tried to point out a couple of things about PVP play that makes me less nervous than most about the effect of having high level folks already in-game but the threads keep closing too quickly. Are the mods allowed to comment on gameplay or are they actually limited to thread control based on forum rules? It seems a few clarifying statements by folks that are actually officially familiar with the gameplay design might help around here. So without knowing where the official thread is for this I'll start a new one. 1) PVP Zones are instanced, not random. You have to join the warzone in order to be involved. What you have to worry about is developing a character or a team that is able to handle the tasks at hand for each of the warzones before you enter. You're not going to have a level 50 Operative sniping you from the rooftop during your questing or other activities. You'll have a chance to build up to that style play. 2) In the game you gain experience and loot for simply participating in the warzones it's not completely tied to winning. From the Game Manual: So while it may be boorish getting wiped off the map in some initial PVP skirmishes you'll continually be leveling and eventually gameplay will determine the outcome more so than the time you started playing. From all that I've read about the development of this game the designers have made it a point to provide a level of balance that isn't always seen in other games of this genre. I could be very wrong but I believe that assuming what would be a "massive failure" in another system would create the same effect here.
  13. It was worth it to me to get my copy on release day. I'm thinking that the EGA schedule will advance faster than most folks think. I'm hoping to get in on Sunday since it's my day off, but if not... I'll pout a little and get over it.
  14. I can't remember from the Beta... Do you have local game saves? llo... I've been replaying ME1 and ME2 to bide the time and all of the data in my brain is pulling up those run-times.
  15. How can they be YOUR names before you even start playing. I always wait till I'm actually creating a character so see what pops across the 'ole radar at that moment.
  16. Some friends. Not willing to wait till everyone was ready and start together. Yet it's BW's fault this isn't going to happen for you now.
  17. I guess it's because of my lack of MMO experience but I feel like folks using this exploit are robbing themselves of hours worth of excellent gameplay. Leveling through the origin stories is such a well thought out experience in this game. It's unfortunate that there will be some servers with big frag fests due to mismatch.
  18. It really is amazing isn't it. Lots of type A's in the world evidently. Looking forward to playing whenever that may be! The little taste I got from the beta weekends has me more than a little excited. It'll be quite interesting to watch this platform grow and evolve.
  19. Are you serious? They're letting folks in two extra days early. We haven't even hit the 5 day early mark yet which was the most time promised at preorder and you're already whining?
