  1. It was about a year ago, and I think the cost for purples was 200k (or possibly 400k). The White Crystal vendor was 1M.
  2. For completeness sake, the Dread Guard belts/bracers that drop from the Tanks and Vorgath are also moddable.
  3. This. Our current progression setup has two Sentinels, one of which has defensive roll (me) and the other does not. In TFB there's not much of a difference, but he requires a lot more healing in NiM EC as there is a lot more aoe damage going out.
  4. Accuracy is generally my pet peeve, but... BlznSmri is 100% correct about this, and everything else in this thread. Listen to him.
  5. Given everything you've said, I can't imagine you're actually a liability. I have to believe your numbers are at least "good enough" which is all that should matter when in comes to your inclusion in the group. If you aren't hitting enrage timers and you aren't taxing your healers, there's no reason to pull yourself from your group. Also, listen to SafeJungleFever, he knows what he's talking about. Definitely ditch that Matrix Cube for the Dread Guard damage proc relic (kinetic).
  6. Two things: a. Actually, the only thing you can substitute for power is crit. You can have a power/surge or power/acc enhancement but you cannot have an acc/surge enhancement (or a power/crit either). b. When he says accuracy of 110%, he means special accuracy, not base accuracy.
  7. Glad to hear you're enjoying it! And if you like pvp now, just wait until 2.0 when you get stealth detection, the roll, and my personal favorite, Recoil Control.
  8. I actually think the opposiite - it probably depends on what you played first. If you played a GS first and then rolled a Sniper, you probably think the Sniper animations/sounds are weak, and vice versa.
  9. What are you talking about? Legacy is not exactly a "grind" and if you've been playing even remotely consistently since it initially came out then you have more than enough legacy levels to buy any of the perks. Furthermore, you can buy that perk with cartel coins!
  10. If they have even one business guy on the development team they will add a bunch of hair, head, tattoo, etc options and maybe even revamp the body type system. If they add just a "barbershop" type thing, that will make them money. But if they add the shop at the same time as adding a ton of options, exponentially more people would pay to change their character to be more customized with the new features.
  11. To the people that were against guarding the healer ---> for endgame content, I certainly agree. More than likely, the OP is having his issues with lower level content. Many times when leveling my Scoundrel (I leveled purely through flashpoints from 10-30), I would find that I pull threat on most of the trash pretty much instantly, and the tank was either too ignorant or simply not tooled enough to deal with 5-6 adds. For the most part it was a lot of kiting and self-healing (ESPECIALLY boss fights with 3-4 bosses, those were the most fun) but that isn't easy when you're new to healing. That's probably similar to what the OP is dealing with. IN almost all cases, it was pretty noticeable when I was able to convince them to guard me. Just saying - it could help if he's lower leveled.
  12. That helps - thanks. For Kephess, the amazing thing is Akopra's parse is on live. I am assuming the others are on 2.0, but I can't tell for sure (though I suspect Gorbandi is since he was in your run). Also, I bet you were responding when I edited this in, but: should I be putting in Covered Escape and OS in between Snipes (your "purple windows")? I haven't quite figured out when to do that yet.
  13. How are those parses looking against other classes? I mean, the 1800 operator parse looks pretty good, but I guess with the new gear and abilities and everything I'm not sure what the other classes were doing, comparatively. Thanks again for putting this together... a great thread! Edit: Also, should I be putting in Covered Escape and OS in between Snipes? I haven't quite figured out when to do that yet.
  14. Agree. I understand that good groups can survive it, but ultimately it's easier just to LOS, via rescue if possible.
  15. There are instances - although probably not that often - when you can keep a stack of 3 rolling by doing OS >Leap instead of Leap > OS > x. In this case, applying a stack is better to do it sooner, so I just make it habit to do it all the time. In all other instances, you are right, there is really no difference.
  16. Just before an IA goes offscreen to "romance" a Jedi of somekind... Kaliyo: "You know, just because she's a Jedi doesn't mean you can't catch something."
  17. Yeah, Guild Wars did (does?) that too. I actually listened to it a couple times, too and wouldn't mind something like that in this game actually. The awareness message is a decent idea - but quite frankly, a limited number of purchases is bad business and not the Company's responsibility just because some may have issues. That just means that they are missing out on business from the many people out there that will not hesitate to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a game (they definitely exist). Again, I definitely would support an awareness message or something similar.
  18. I had no idea this idea would spawn out of one simple comment I made in another thread! But seriously... people have serious gaming addictions too. Should they prohibit you from playing more than x hours a week? Unfortunately for those affected, it isn't the Company's job to police those people's issues.
  19. It's very similar gambling. Of course I agree with you, I'm not likely to spend a dime on a "chance"... but that's why this business model works from a business perspective.
  20. Yes. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=610468
  21. Correct. For this reason, I usually do OS > Leap if I have the focus, since it gets the stacks up sooner.
  22. I don't know... a matchup with Carnival looms in the semifinals.
  23. You must have enormous hands then! Admittedly, there are probably only about 10 of the most common/most useful skills for single target scenarios. That being said, I use about 30 keybinds, 2-3 of them are "doubles" since they function differently when in/out of cover... and for pvp, I wish I had more! 30 is fine for pve. OP: In my opinion, all sniper specs are somewhat underpowered until level 30. As SS, when you get Trickshot at level 30, your damage output will go up a lot, and once you get Speed Shot at level 36 you should melt the rest of the game. I think if you make sure you stay in cover (you'll be able to tell if your Charged Burst is greyed out or not), your damage output will be fine. To answer the rest of your questions, the SS spec is definitely not underpowered. The other specs don't require cover as much, but they do require it for SOME, and I think you will find it's easier to just be in cover all the time rather than be in cover for specific abilities only. And no, there is absolutely no way to switch to scoundrel. Side question - are you using "take cover in place?" I basically never use the environmental cover spots...
  24. A few points: - Commandos usually cannot do the same amount of damage as a Sentinel (but they do have good aoe). They certainly aren't "gimped" in terms of damage, though. - Commandos do have heavy armor, but Sentinels' defensive cooldowns are definitely better. - Gunslingers also have a droid only cc, while Scoundrels and Shadows only have non-droid, stealth (ie pre-combat) cc. Guardians and Vanguards do not have any cc abilities.
