  1. Actually been removed a lot of times because i had no opportunity to actually run out of the safe area due to some kind of bug in that the door did not open in time!
  2. Does the OP work for Bioware? Just Joking, however you did neglect to actually mention any bad parts of the game from your POV .. or are there none? For me the levelling was great , however on my server that used to say FULL all te time and have queues all the time even getting to actually play the game was an issue , ingame with a FULL server finding a group was allways near impossible.... The PvP on my server has huge balance issues and the 3 maps are very boring after playing them (mostly Hutball) so many times . The best aspect of the game was the single player part (odd for an MMO though). getting from lvl 1-50 was enjoyable but not so enjoyable that I would actually want to repeat it! The there were the downtimes for patches and the like that denied me service and the time to play the game... In other MMO@s you would be compensated for this time..... not in this game though (poor customer service). The loading screens can be incredibly annoying too after looking at so many now , especially when jumping back and forth from PvP to PvE a lot. I'm trying to find out how this game is going to change the genre? Yes it has the story element, but it is hardly going to be somthing that people in the future demand for a MMO. The most important factor is enjoyment in my book , and after the first 2 weeks I had done the levelling from lvl 1 to lvl 50.... the game was completed , the endgame was almost non-existent , as a single player game it would have been great , but to pay a sub to continue playing........ some may , some may not , I will fall into the latter. P.S. I wont be slamming any doors , before I get the usual Fan-boy reply ...... And no the game won't be better off without me , people like me are what actually make MMO's we are the stable productive members of the community's we join when we do actually play MMO's and do it for years .....
  3. For PR reasons they would allways put the re-subscriptions in a good light. There are a lot of sheep out there that just follow what everyone else is doing, I however do not and analyse a game when i'm playing it . I expect a very high standard these days from any MMO . All you see is excuses for any MMO launch and promises that things will be fixed. Some games have made promises on launch day that problems would be fixed , however although they were eventually fixed it was a good 2 years after launch. My real problem with this game is the endgame , But then Bioware do make good single player games! Will I come back? The big problem for Bioware here is that by the time they fix the stuff that really needs it there will be a lot of very good titles out there , and some of the new MMO's really are going to change the genre with systems that you just would not recognise from todays MMO's ... whether or not these models will actually work who knows , but after playing MMO's for over 10 years they will be a breath of fresh air!
  4. 1) This game is great. 2)Game has good and bad elements. 3)Don't like the game at all My gaming background is over 10 years of MMO'S. (getting sick of the genre now though, too many clones out there). My category is Number 2 (loved the levelling side , story and stuff although dont like going through it more than once even if the stories are a bit different).
  5. Yep I guess the testers gave no feedback to this problem or the devs did not listen... Travelling allways has and allways will be boring ... best for Devs to get innovative and stop doing it as a cheap filler to try to extend the life of a game..... The real problem here for bioware is that there are new mmo's coming that are truly innovative beyond the single player part of the mmo.... one's where they have actually ripped apart the way wow does things and actually created new systems! Quest areas that actually flow into each other , levelling systems that no longer seem like a chore , quest rewards are actually useful to you no matter when you do the quest! (hard to believe I know). I did enjoy the story quests though , they were the only aspect of the game that actually lived up to what I would expect from Bioware! P.S. Agreed .. too much travelling
  6. Wait till next week when subs kick in ... this will be a strong indication of the state of what people really think... as far as I can tell mostly fanboys post or even read the forums as popular opinion among lvl 50's is that they can maybe stomach making 1 more character , but after that they really have lost the will to play this anymore and are looking to the plephoria of upcoming titles to fill their gaming voids! So next week looks like the interesting time , can the jedi mindtrick really work... 'we will fix everything' ......
  7. When people critisise a game it may very well be justified. If the developers took note when the game was being made it might have actually resulted in a production lacking faults that are game breaking. The community seems as allways split between people that actually read a critisism and understand what is being said , and those that say it is trolling , or 'don't let the door slam on your way out'. My guess is far too few people actually pointed out what was wrong during testing , or that the whole testing phase was focussed on the storyline quests , which I might add are very well done and were a great experience. Unfortunately after lvl 50 things break down , critically I may add. I can't help feel that certain areas like space combat should have been put to one side as a future introduction in a patch and the effort put into that should have been to fix the endgame content and PvP ( PvP is almost 'free content' as the devs only have to provide a good story and area for it as well as working PvP mechanisms , the players will do the rest ... Alterac Valley in WoW anyone?) Bottom line is ... please the critics and you turn a mediocre game into a good one .... and a good game into an awesome game.
  8. O.K. I will be a lot more specific than people have been:- Levelling 1-50 9/10 Probably the best story of any mmo , if not a bit fast (actually very fast , I think Bioware could of put a lot of the complaints off for a bit longer if they had decreased the XP by at least a factor of x3 min , thus allowing them a little extra time to put endgame content in). Endgame content 1/10 found myself getting very bored very quickly after lvl 50 ... repeat quests are not content , constantly being offered grey quests is not content , and really I was hoping for a new take on mmo's instead of offering the usual WoW style raids (which incidently is one of the main reasons people are leaving wow , they are wising up to the so called 'new content' that mmo's offer). Maybe having Empire and Republic forces fighting for control of certain areas of the galaxy or at least planets with meaningful PvP would help somewhat .... The PvP area on Ilum is kind of dire really!
  9. Personally I feel they had their chance and have blown it. Why so fast? The reason is that mmo's have been around for a very long time and every dev should know by now what needs to be done , how a game should be made and that End content and PvP are the 2 most important parts of the structure... these are the areas that people will be playing in for the largest time. The PvP is very dire with critical mechanisms not working , too many stuns / interrupts etc. etc. Real PvP should just be people killing each other and having fun about it , not people being perma stunned or interrupted or 1 hit... yes I did say 1 Hit (possible exploits here) , despite bioware saying that pvp was different! Anyway I have put my money where my mouth is and cancelled my sub ... plenty new and very unique mmo ideas coming up soon.(talking complete overhauls here)
  10. Guess if you want balanced gear aquirement and classes you will have to go play another game... Bioware like many other mmo makers fail to appreciate that everyone pays the same for the game and thus should all expect to be treated thus..... At least in upcoming mmo's this view is taken and all participants will receive gear of equal status relevant to their class
  11. To put as briefly as possible , i'll make a reference to WoW and Alterac valley.... this was probably the best PvP zone ever created in any mmo ... some games would last 4-5 hours , epic PvP! Can we have somthing like this please?
  12. my merc is allways getting stunned with a full resolve bar ... Also what about Jedi consular having stun effect when throwing stones at a character with heavy armour ...lol
  13. There appears to be a problem that is associated with over population of servers and that is awful lag, this does not affect everyone for some reason , but it is representative of poor bandwidth or server power (I guess these servers are probably the cheapest EA could dig up , just like mythic used GOA despite having previous problems with them). These lag spikes appear to affect random people , Personally I have checked my connection using speedtest.com and also my jitter and packet loss , these were perfect , I also used several locations around te globe and received perfect results yet again , so it looks like the server 100%!
  14. guess today is not a holiday in the U.S. ...... As for timings , it is generally practice to have people working as long as your servers are up as you never know when a problem may occur. Also if you are deploying a patch then you have people working during that time. Lastly if they really must deploy a patch on all servers then at least do it at a better time... i.e. 11 or 12 PM U.S time as it will still be quite early here, but then 6 hours to deploy a minor patch does seem a little extreme!
  15. /signed Seems other games manage to do maintenance at a sensible time in Euroland so why not this?
