  2. i guess EA/BW will never learn. how many healers left after the over the top healing nerfs? now they want to make sin tanks run away too.... they're killing their own game with these stupid decisions...
  3. LOL hit or miss but not as buggy??? my guild lost around 10 members who got SO fed up with the SOA bugs they rage quite and NEVER CAME BACK. my guild is now gone and moved on from SWTOR like BW has from EV..... but yeah, keep making excuses while people keep leaving the game....

  5. one other thing the OP and the author of at ToR or whatever completely ignores is return on investment. if they spent 300 million over the past 5 years to just now "break even", which i doubt they're at yet, the ROI is TERRIBLE. you could have put that 300 million in an interest bearing account and made more money. and if subs continue to drop that ROI is absolutely going to be a big negative when compared with other ways that much money could have been invested....
  6. a troll post claiming not to feed the trolls.... wait i just did what it said not to do..... sorry but going from 1.7 to 1.3 million subscribers, while STILL COUNTING the free month people is no where near a "success" my entire guild (over 20 of us) left SWTOR over the past two months, some success.... imp fleet on my server used to be over 300, it's lucky to break 100 now, some success..... but go ahead and listen to a SWTOR FAN SITE, i mean they have no bias or interest in the success of SWTOR, right? oh wait, remind me again what happens to their website when SWTOR fails utterly.....

Wow, such a sad attempt at spin. as far as the healing nerf, i'm one of the healers that left. as a veteran MMO player i saw exactly how the nerf would effect the way my sorc healer played and it would not be in a FUN way. who wants to take a 11-15% health hit every time they need to regen force? either way, they went about the nerf the wrong way. you don't completely revamp the entire way a class plays just a few months after release, then make it a 1,2,3,4 class. stupid, stupid, stupid (and i'm not even touching on there PVP life expectancy....) as far as your cupcake analogy goes you completely screwed that one up too: they promised 12 cupcakes, maybe had enough flour for 8 but then delivered ZERO cupcakes. how good does zero cupcakes taste when you've been promised 12 and could have been delivered 8????
  8. I 100% agree with this IF and this is a big IF, the servers are full enough to get groups with a server only LFG tool. but from what i've been reading the past month or so this is NOT the case....
  9. Hmmmm, I think you're understating the impact of DRASTIC nerfs, ushc as what happened to sorcs/sages in 1.2. I'm neither fickle, a FOTM player or unfamiliar with MMOs. I just don't like logging into a game one day and having the way my character plays completely changed. it's why i left CoH and now SWTOR and i doubt others do as well.....

James, though I'm sure you won't read this-you just don't get it. If you couldn't get Sorcs/Sages "closer to your target" in YEARS of development, what makes you think you got them "closer to target than they've ever been in the past"??? I'll tell you what. PURE ARROGANCE I'll tell you something else, the only healers that could "completely bypass resource management" were those in the UBER-Guilds you invited to PTS. Those who were healing people in full Rakata and people using teamspeak services. Communication goes such a far way in MMOs.... As a career PUG Healer in just about every game, my resource management NEVER-and I repeat NEVER came down to MY skill but the skill and gear of my group. Good gear, communication and skill for whole group=Infinite healing ability, whether it was EQ, CoH, FFXI or SWTOR Bad gear, communication and skill for whole group=most likely having to be careful with my resources in EQ, CoH, FFXI or even SWTOR pre-1.2. Heck it may even be all the same after 1.2. I don't know and I don't care. What I do know is that the healing nerf was the final straw for me when it came to SWTOR. I dealt with so many other issues, I simply couldn't deal with them changing a class so drastically just a few months after launch. So yeah, if right where you want them is not playing anymore, you've done a GREAT job....

  12. this has been broken since release and i was RUDELY told by a dev that it was "working as intended" on these very forums... yet they had to ***try*** to patch it in 1.2??? EA must really be rubbing off on them....
  13. people like you make me laugh so hard. i've wanted to play a sorc since i heard about them over a year and a half ago. i've run every pre 1.2 HM/raid possible. and i am one of the ones who unsubbed. there is nothing new to "learn" about the class anyway. same basic rotation, except now you get to hurt yourself if you want to regen any decent amount of force and you have to wait longer to cast your big heal, which has a better chance to crit. that's not "resource managment" that's just another way for us to die quicker. stupidest thing to do was to make the squishiest healing class be the one that has to hurt themselves to regen force anyway..... you're right, this isn't a "so-called nerf" this is a terrible attempt at balance and a restructuring of our class that makes it NO FUN to play, which was rather obvious by simply reading the notes-which is why so many sorc healers quit before even having to try 1.2., which is why so many of us have decided to unsub. many sorc healers are veteran MMO players (myself included) who didn't need to play the class to know this change would be no fun and who wouldn't take very long at all to "learn how to play the class" anyway...... you and the other fanboi's aren't some geniuses and some select few who can figure it out or something.....this isn't rocker science..... this game may not be "going anywhere" but as others predicted, players ARE leaving in droves and there has already been F2P being given out, which people (myself included) predicted as well. 7 free days isn't going to bring me nor many others back, neither would 30 days or even F2P. only thing that could possibly bring me back is to undo everything 1.2 did to my sorc healer or at the very least, make it so i don't have to stab myself in the eye to heal myself or others..... have fun playing a low population game that cannot afford to release new content in the future....
  14. wake up people they're BLEEDING subscribers right now and have been for a while. the "special gifts" to their 50 players is a desperate attempt to trick them into not unsubbing. why do you think it was followed DIRECTLY with: "FORMER PLAYERS COME BACK AND PLAY NOW ON US: APRIL 13 – APRIL 19" ????? the funniest thing about all this? the amount of people who happen to come back is going to be offset by: the amount of people leaving because of no ranked WZs the amount of people leaving because of the 1.2 patch bugs and bugs in general the amount of people leaving because of the nerfs the amount of people leaving because they're nott getting rewarded because they don't have a level 50 did i miss any other reasons.....

  17. funny. my buddy is a tank and we were talking last night. he said over the past few weeks when i'm not on (as my healer) it's been getting harder and harder to find healers. also, quit making BS excuses for poor game design. i played a WHM healer for over 3 years in FFXI, guess how many times my class was nerfed or buffed......ZERO of course, ff14 was an epic failure full of bugs and unbalanced classes, but that's because people like you continue to sub and make excuses that "nerfs and buffs are part of any MMO" and that people need to "adjust and change" to games they pay monthly subscription fees to. YOU are the reason modern MMOs launch as such garbage and after just THREE months of live they are already making sweeping "balance" changes in SWTOR. by just taking it and going as far as to MAKE EXCUSES for them. please take this time to learn that if people stopped making excuses and stopped paying monthly subs for games that need such contsant "change, that develpoers would learn to not release such flopping piles of garbage.....
  18. 11 year MMO veteran who has cancelled. Don't remember my healer in FFXI ever being nerfed, in fact having played FFXI for over 3 years, the only real class changes i ever remember were to dragoons..... oh yeah, these aren't just "some nerfs" these are serious changes to our class, so serious that the are redoing and refunding our skill tree. might want to think before you post next time.....
  19. those two classes or overpowered so BW coded it to clone more to make up for playing EZ mode..... ok, really, they've been more concerned about nerfing classes than fixinf bugs that have been in since beta.....
  20. i almost duo'd BT HM with a guildy but our pets were too stupid to run away from when that jedi chic pulls you in. we were gonna try her again and spam passive or whatever tells yoru pets not to attack but we got a third person and did it no problem.
  21. have you not raided or done HM's??? so many bosses have random agro and random things that hurt EVERYONE that you don't want to be low on HP if you can avoid it. let's think here: Last boss BT randomly jumps and attacks people Malgus randomly picks people to 1 on 1 fight with Karaga sends the mouse driods out Karaga has the spikes randomly pop up First boss EV shoots rockets at everyone Lava boss EV AoE hits randomly BH boss on false emp randomly targets people Multiple bosses spawns adds that r adnomly attack people and often go straight after healers SOA lightning balls, good luck if you're at 70% use consumption then have a ball choose you, especially on HM/NM And there's many more i can't think of right off the top of my head.....but yeah PVE is "whatever".....
  22. no. our class is still fundamentally changing. we're going to have to "relearn" how to play a class that should have been balanced upon release. it's not like it will be hard or anything but i for one don't want to or think i should have to. just three months out and they're fundamentally changing quite a few classes (see skill tree refund) factor in the numerous bugs and other problems (look at the CS forum) and it all adds up to a game that wasn't tested properly, wasn't "balanced" and flat out wasn't ready for release. no wonder they're bleeding subs....

LOL add the fact that the health cost is not based on BASE HP but total HP gained from gear and buffs and even with the two points in Dark Reiliance, you are still going to loose 11% HP to gain 8% force, which is almost what it will cost to heal the HP lost. I'm sitting at just over 17k HP on my sorc, so it will just me around 1700-1800 HP to gain back 52 force (I have the set bonus so im at 650 force) so basically, we're going to have to worry about our HP even MORE than we had to, which means we will be worrying less about healing others.... then as others have explained ,our other changes aren't much better and appear to actually be WORSE....
  24. more bad news from 1.2.... as a sorc healer who is bio, when i read my consumption nerf, my first thought was "well at least my medpac will now help" now only once a fight.... this a a double nerf to sorcs that spec'd bio..... yet another reason why i have no regret for cancelling my sub....
