  1. Hey everyone - I've spent a few days and nights trying to troubleshoot this. It started when I got a new rig and downloaded the game launcher and tried to install. Everything seemed fine and installed until I hit that play button and nothing happens. I've researched this problem through other threads and tried all the fixes that worked in other users' issues, but none of the fixes seem to work for me. Here's what I've tried so far: 1. Setting everything to open as an admin 2. Deleting the bitraider folder for my ST launcher to force repair 3. Un/Re-installed five times now 4. Tried the non-streaming launcher version -- an even longer re-download with the same result 5. It's a new rig so I haven't installed anything but the Windows Defender as far as AV/FW goes and all SWTOR files are set to the exclusions list 6. There's no AppData folder, so I haven't been able to try the one fix that requires a setting change in the client file (and yes, I have it set to show all hidden files). Don't know what else could be the issue. I would think there shouldn't be an issue with a new computer and a fresh install, but here I am. Kind of a bummer as a subscriber not being able to play. Any ideas?
  2. Sadly I lost my status as well. Didn't get to log into until today because of work travels...but it should be noted I have zero active token characters. All the toons I have were played through to completion of their class stories, and three of them are at 65 now. The toon not giving me credit now is the last one that I played through, and sadly, this one is leveled to 65 through KOTFE so I can't redo anything. I know it's a known issue at this point, just offering info as to where my issue is in case that helps any.
  3. Joining in to say this is affecting my progress as well. At this point, should I report it, or just wait for patch fix?
  4. Me either...i'm 8/9 codex entries on this one because it didn't give me the title when I downed the three world bosses with my ops group. Any word on if this is a bug and if it will be hotfixed later?
  5. Fillion... an homage to Nathan Fillion....from "Firefly" Cause nothing beats a good ol' fashion space cowboy, heh.
  6. OMG, I remember this!!! I died on the two strong mobs because true to form, I CC'd the wrong target (hint: it's best to CC the one who stays put and doesn't come to you) so when I used an AOE, of course the CC broke and I just couldn't handle both of them at once. Anyway, I got rezzed in the med center which is on the other side of the door where I was fighting the two strong mobs. But because I hadn't killed them and activated the next section, the door was locked and I ran around the bridge with no mobs. In order to fix this, I had to use my 20Hr Fleet Cooldown, and fly back to the ship. I didn't have to reset the entire chain or redo the ship fights up to those two strong mobs, which was good. I ran through from the beginning and reengaged the two mobs, thus remembering which one I should have CC'd, killed them, and then everything else was normal. UNTIL... I finally got to fight the jedi...I don't know *** was up with that fight, but that dude had some SRS lay on hands action going on as SEVERAL times I got him to almost dead and then he'd be at full health. Not only that, but he'd do this knockback move that knocked himself as well as me back, and he'd get stuck in the console and I couldn't target him and he'd evade and reset to full (did that THREE times). I finally got him though....I feel like it's some sort of rite of passage in patience. One that I won't ever do again, thankfully.
  7. As a healer Merc, I use Torian. Questing with Mako, i.e. two healers, meant things died a bit slower than they should have. I think Mako is great, but I found that a melee DPSer that I could heal meant that I could bounce heals, and some DPS while the mobs or elites died quicker. Plus with melee, I could send Torian in and stay and a distance, when compared to Gault who didn't go anywhere and brought the mobs to us. I think Mako is a great companion for those who aren't healers. I've seen a PT tank some rather tough mobs and Mako busts out some killer heals.
  8. I feel you...DK general chat on my server is where the WoW-sympathizers like to troll. However, I HEART general chat in Tatooine...often, it's quite entertaining, especially when there's a little wpvp going on.
  9. This! I look at what would otherwise be a beautiful game (even with the permastuck medium settings, though I have everything maxed out), and for some reason I look at my shadow...especially when on snow in Hoth, and it makes me sad how poor the shadow rendering is. I know it's not my computer, which would be the typical CS response "ensure your computer is set to so on and so forth..."
  10. Nothing wrong with correcting ignorance. We can't cure stupid, but correcting someone on something as simple as spelling will prompt them into using something like, oh say, spellcheck, so that comments such as the one he so clearly is passionate about can be taken seriously.
  11. Mechanics and playability yes, this is true... Storywise, Smugglers and BHs have pretty similar makings...I'm leveling a Scoundrel after hitting 50 with my Merc and it's sort of the same "mercenary for hire with little to no allegience". What I LIKE about both in terms of the story is that you really see each faction for what they really are because you're an outsider. Smugglers see the Republic for the corrupted two faced jerks they really are and Bounty Hunters simply entertain the corruption and two-facedness of the Empire. Either way, it's kind of fun.
  12. What's a "hippocrite"? Some sort of hippo-crocodile mix? Sounds pretty awesome, I mean, regular stomps from a hippo tend to be deady, but a hippo stomp that's critical probably means the thing is DEAD. Hint: it's hypocrite and hypocritical.
