That is interesting, because I have many former colleagues at TS2 international, (look them up) they supply talent to developers..... if anything you will see a lot more Star Wars games from EA, and this game has many more years left. Basically what I'm saying is random Reddit troll is full of it.

I agree I love SWTOR, I wish our community would be a bit nicer sometimes, but hey that too has improved.

Once upon a time when the hate machine was screaming "Tortanic" and predicting the game closing every five minuets we had mods, but the developers decided that anarcho Nihilism would be a better way to manage things and thus the mods took the last shuttle for Corascant. And that's how the lunatics started running the asylum.

In a word no, cartel packs aren't going anywhere, even if some idiot legislator manages to somehow get some minor reform.....a few edits n the EULA and they are right back in business.

But....but that's logical Andryah, last time I checked calm rational logic was verboten on the General forums. Please Note: I buy the dog shick out of them, I have spent a stupid amount of money on silly pixels, cartel pack, boost limited time items you name it... and don't have a single regret, and I will flash a gigantic middle finger to anyone who does. :-)

I never minded the cartel packs and I always found the welfare game mentality a bit tedious and unrealistic, it's kinda like watching that kid we all knew in high school who went into a homicidal rage every time some other student with a nicer car drove by. Iv'e actually had folks send me all kind of hateful tells in game just because what Costume or vehicle my character was on...then I get lectured about being a whale and told to kill myself. I guess it's the nature of Star Wars fans.....I love the IP, but the fans are by and large a collection of toxic nutjobs.

It amazes me that people have the opinion that anyone actually gives a flying crap whether they live or die much less what they are up to as far as their SWTOR sub goes. Trying to decide of it's idiocy or narcissism.

Never understood why they just couldn't do it like GW2, CoH, Nevewinter , STO and many many other MMO's just add a Hidden unique #XXX where the X is a random generated number that is attached to the user name of the account, done simple Then you can have all of the "Ben Wan Diddy Wa's" you want.

Good times..... But, I also remember all the hair pulling, doom saying and temper tantrums from the community. I understand why Bioware has gone in the direction they have with this game, Star Wars fans in general are never really satisfied and more than a bit fanatical. Let's face it folks, if each and if every one of them doesn't get their own personal vision of what Star Wars is., they will riot and threaten violence. Oh I'm not the one who originally said that, that was a paraphrase from George Lucas, which again most Star Wars fans hate even though he created the damn thing. These days I play the game with the same group I have been with since launch, we ignore the community because by and large they are the biggest collection of mean spirited trolls in the hobby. I personally would like to see another real expansion, but I'm not going to hold my breath and I won't blame Bioware if they decide not to.

No one that threatens to leave ever actually leaves......if I have learned anything about this community in the past six years it's that.

I pretty much have made my peace with whatever happens I'm fully prepared to lose my names and decorations. I just hope after all is said and done we actually start having GM's in game and Fleet chat is no longer such a toxic wasteland. I know it's probably too much to expect, but it may be easier since they have fewer servers to manage.

Andryah......how the heck are you? Still throwing the monkey wrench of logic and facts into the conversation I see? These days I make my point, and laugh at the consequences of contributing to the GF.......you have more patience than I do.

The problem with this idea is the type of Engine SWTOR is using which is a heavily modified version of the Hero Engine, That engine is wonky enough as is, I can only imagine the nightmare it would be to remaster a modified version of it.

Well I hope this Kumbaya moment lasts, I truly do. I admit I have been harsher on these forums than Iv'e needed to be at times, but lets face it, there are Cliques that have fostered toxicity, then weaponized the report button. The end result was folks leaving the forum if not the game. I personally use the forum much less because honestly there hasn't been much use to it other than an a echo chamber of rage. I hope it changes, Iv'e even tried to be the change I want to see, but the cliques are not of a forgiving nature and are report happy. I hope there is change but I won't hold my breath.

Pretty much dead on about that, it seems that in most MMO's there is too many cliques with agendas or folks that spend more time ranting on forums than playing the game. a couple years ago I talked to a guy at PAX that once worked as a content designer on WoW, he said one of the biggest frustrations was the level of detail that was demanded by the producers, which were barely noticed, because of the mad dash to get the shiny. Sadly, I don't see that changing in MMO's any time soon.

The folks I played with on Harbinger were nice enough....it's not like it's a popularity contest is it?

Boycotts work about as well as peeing into the wind, but to each his own. Personally it's my money and I'll spend it as I please, at least in SWTOR you don't get backlash in game, I have a couple friends who play ESO and they said there was a group of idiots that would follow folks around harassing them about riding a mount from one if the Crates they sell. Things could always be worse I guess.

I just think that people who think that all their years of forum rage is going to pay off will be disappointed. I think Keith will do very well at his new position.....but I don't see the constant complainers getting their vision of SWTOR.

I'm personally am not tired of Walkers they're just cool, but I could see where some would be. I know we'll never get anything like a AT-AT, but man that would be sweet.
