  1. I believe what you saw a year ago was that the armor sets like Trailblazer's, Despot's, etc. had their "meshes" accidentally removed prior to making it to the live game. I believe this was an error more than anything because the armors were released exactly as intended minus the "meshes". And when I say "meshes" it is a technical term for additional polygon models that are attached after the body paint textures are applied. Once their error was realized they also noticed that people liked the error versions so they kept both to appease both spectrums. In this case I think you are seeing 2 things: 1) The armors in question look much more like the concept on a type 3 body type. I don't know why but I assume the body type used in the concept is bulkier or the bulkier body type more closely resembles the bulkier clothing in the concept 2) I think the modelers really got lazy on this one. They obviously reused boots and gloves and even assets on the shirt. It is poor work all around if you ask me. Not worth anyone's time and you wont see anyone wearing this set. All in all I was excited at the prospect of more clothing style sets coming when I saw the concept. When I got the actual items in my pack I was disappointed. I grade these new sets a D-.
  2. They included Star Fighter color customizations in this Star Fighter shipment. I think that was their logic. Anyway, I agree I always collect a power and endurance of each color and I miss not having one. Also, where is my White with Black core Darksaber!!!
  3. Im sorry OP, did you really just write a 10 page essay whining about kill stealers? Come on... Get some perspective man. No one is waiting in the shadows to steal your kills. Everyone is flying around trying to shoot stuff or win matches. Your post is ridiculous.
  4. From what I have read the casting is calling for young and fit looking teens / twenties. They want both boys and girls so my bet is on movies centering around the kids. It makes no sense to make an action Sci-fi movie about old fogies. Specially from Disney. It would never happen.
  5. So this writer think the Zahn books are garbage? One could easily argue that Zahn's books revitalized the franchise, got George Lucas's attention and ultimately led to the Special Edition and even the decision to create the Prequel Trilogy. Lucas used several of the characters, Planets and Species from Zahn's books in the Prequels. Who invented Coruscant? Answer: Zahn.
  6. I have toyed with the idea and even played with a few algorithms but nothing seemed to work exactly how I wanted it to. The only thing that identifies an offhand hit is if the dmg occurs within ~50 ms of each other and the attack is the same name. However, there a lot of single basic attacks that have multiple hits per attack that fall into that window. So my algorithm was picking up things like hammer shot as dual wield even though they are not. I am open to suggestions on how to better identify offhand hits since they are not specifically called out as such. However, I would like to avoid anything that requires the engine look for a list of specific attacks.
  7. One time I heard: Police at the door cause I shot the neighbors dog gtg.
  8. You could also provide a log file if you want. Just follow these instructions.
  9. Over the holiday my service provider had some significant issues with their SQL servers. Which caused lots of disconnects and down time. However, it appears that those issues have finally subsided. I have not seen any SQL problems since the 29th, where before that they happened almost everyday and sometimes multiple times a day. Another issue I face is that the service I pay for has a limit of 800 concurrent connections. Previously it was 200 and I had to ask them to increase it twice as the popularity of parsec grew. When they increased it to 800 they said it was the last time and that any more increases would require I step up to a very expensive hosting plan. That said, it has only reached 800 concurrent connections once and that was on Jan 2nd. Usually Tuesday thru Thursday peaks around 750 euro primetime and 650 US primetime. My current focus is to gather more information on how often people are experiencing disconnects to figure out if they are occurring outside peak times or service provider downtimes. I am working on several ideas to automate this information gathering but in the meantime please report disconnects to support @ parsecparser . com
  10. Unfortunately information regarding other players actions are not available in your log file. So we must rely on "second hand relays" - meaning both parties must be connected together and parsing in order to have access to all the relevant information you are looking for. In the raid tab you can see the damage taken by each member, however, that's about the only thing in your request that exists today. And there are good reasons for this. Number one is that bandwidth is expensive and the current design of Parsec has each client sending and receiving data from a server. Number two is that peer to peer connections where data would be directly transmitted between clients is complicated to support. I could easily throw together something that works for me, but the notion of supporting 5000 people's OSes, firewalls and network settings is not appealing to me. That said, it is on my awesome future feature list to allow a user to request a log download from another connected user. This would allow you to open an "archive view" of another users log file. Again, this would be an advanced feature and would require peer to peer tech, so it may not work for everyone.
  11. This is really a problem with Bioware's terminology and a lack of complete information in the log. There are two scenarios at play here: 1) You shield an attack and your shield "absorbs" a percentage of the damage based on your absorption stat. In beta this was more accurately called Glance. In the log file a shielded attack is flagged as such but it does not report specifically how much damage has been mitigated. 2) You have some sort of barrier ability on you that "absorbs" a certain amount of damage. This is a sorc/sage bubble, a guardian blade barrier, a reactive warding relic proc, etc. This is truly absorbed damage and is referenced in the log file where it reports exactly how much damage was taken and how much was absorbed. In Parsec I need to work with what is available in the log file and unfortunately your shield glance amounts are not available. The Absorbed bubble at the top of the Damage Taken tab reports: The percentage of damage absorbed in scenario 2 above and the amount absorbed per second. The Abs column reports the amount of damage absorbed in scenario 2 for each ability you are hit with.
  12. ^This is a fantastic simple write up. If everyone did this the games would be much more competitive and fun.
  13. I quit reading and caring when you said "as much as 100k". You have no clue what you are talking about and your gross exaggeration does nothing but show that you are whining about getting owned.
  14. I think the OP makes this crap up so he can come on here and get sympathy. If you sold them for 5k then in that guy's eyes you may be an idiot. If you are so noble why are you crying about what someone else thinks of you? What was your motivation for selling them that cheap? Where you truly doing it to get rid of them or where you looking to get some *** kissing? Next time just give them away. Honestly, from an outsiders perspective it sounds like you made a bone head move and then tried to cover it up by saying "I meant to sell them that cheap!"
  15. Jesus the whiners in full effect! I play GSF everyday. I have played against and with all of the good players on my server. I recognize threats and wingmen. I have a 90% win ratio. I have been in a premade guild group maybe 10 matches out of the 500 i have played. I win against premades all the time. Am I an enigma or is your argument just crap?
  16. Just because a fight is passable doesnt mean it is not bugged. My group has had this all on farm for many weeks but are also aware of all the bugs. I honestly dont know what entering the challenge has to do with rising slash. Maybe you are thinking of spinning slash? Rising slash is one of his knock up abilities put on tanks. Regardless the threat on this fight is really messed up but mostly it is because your tanks get an armor buff and threat debuff from the crystal. The best way to combat this is to taunt fluff constantly. Also we always tank swap after force execution cause it hits hard and is usualy followed by a hard rising slash. Again... This fight is doable but very bugged. It is incredibly frustrating to have tyrans move to a different platform even if the tank who has agro has not moved. Jerba is explaining things that have nothing to do with the problems that really occur on this fight with position. My current theory is that it has something to do with latency. Anyway, i found it best to keep tyrans on one spot and have the tanks swap on that spot then run simplification away.
  17. If I were a locomotive shop and I needed some boats I would look at purchasing some boats from someone who already made them That was the "gist" of what I was saying. It wouldn't be that hard to leverage something within EA that has the algorithms already. Then it is simply a job for an intern to port the code across platforms.
  18. Why does everyone say 3d AI is so hard? It is no different than AI in any 3d game... Specifically, decent space 3d AI has been around since the Wing Commander series in the 90s. There are hundreds of console and pc games since then that have done acceptable space ai. It doesn't have to be anything that can compete 1v1 but a dogfighting AI isn't something that would take years to develop.
  19. While I agree with you completely in principle, in practice this highlights a problem with scoring and rewarding gameplay in GSF. Simply harassing gunships that exploit the turret boundary and not killing them does not net you any medals or requisition. You are way out of range to be considered defending or attacking a node, and you are also very close to a very dangerous invisible line. Not to mention that the second you turn around to run away from the turrets he will blast you from behind. While your comment makes a valid point, I still think this is a silly tactic and should be discouraged. In my opinion, once you leave the safety of the spawn you should not be able to re-acquire it. This is done with geometry in the ground pvp game, but it is difficult in space. I don't know how you solve the problem from a lore standpoint but simply making the area off limits to all players who haven't spawned would be ideal from a mechanical standpoint.
  20. OMG SO BRILLIANT! 10/10 will read again!!! +1 Vote for best post 2013
  21. I think the only time it isnt fun is when i get grouped with 7 people that suck. Please fix.
  22. This is soo eye roll... You don't know anything about my group. You don't know what gear we have, you don't know if we have skill or if we don't. So don't sit there with your little epeen hanging out making assumptions. The only thing you do know is that on our first time in 16m hm dp we breezed through the entire place up until the final phase of Dread Council. I am sure your super friends and you cleared all of it on your first attempt and laughed at all the others whose epeens are clearly smaller and more insignificant than yours. The truth is that real progression raiders are laughing at you while they do 16m content because you think its hard.
