if 40+ abilities, 4 different skill trees, and 2 entirely different rolls isnt a big difference then whats your idea of a big difference?

the ability to play them wasnt the question, it was the fact that you cant see a differance, and there is a big difference.

no, i played a BH/carb in SWG for quite a while. tried out a few other classes like rifleman, pistoleer, tera kasi, mosty combat professions but i didnt like them as much, so i went back to BH.

total? about 40 different skills with about half as many shared used in completely different ways. it would only take me a few minutes to be competent but as bioware themselves have stated "some players are well... idiots" this whole AC respec thing is more cattering to those "idiots" then anyone else. i knew what class i wanted to play, how it played and that was that. its the people who dont have a clue and probably will never get one that need to have their hands held by adding such a rediculous mechanic.

SWG required you to start from scratch and regrind xp, if they add an AC respec that put you back to level 10 id allow it. no real point to it anymore though now is there?

thats where your wrong, there are huge differences between them. can a sorcerer tank and use stealth? can an assassin heal or fill a ranged dps slot? no, because there is a BIG difference between them. Ranged DPS/Healer =/= Melee DPS/Tank. your idea of a big difference must be freaking huge if you cant see that.

obviously your not having fun if you require a tool that allows you to skip straight to 50 with another class.

its allowing people to play a class without actually having to level said class, that IS dumbing it down.

you seem to have mistaken "dumb down" with "increase." a typical error for the modern MMO generation. dont worry, we hold it against you.

if its allowed it will be one of many reasons but still a reason that they lose players, and i agree, this arguement is stupid because it shouldnt be allowed.

i have played wow, for 7 years in fact, and like as ive stated the AC's arent as simple as that. as a druid you can leave bear form and start dpsin or throwing out heals without having to change a thing, just your form. as an tank assassin i can change to lightning charge and begin dpsing, but i cannot ever start healing. to do that i would have to change my class completely this making my assassin nothing like a druid as you claim.

i saw there they said its a possablity, but if it does happen wont be for a very long time. could you show me where they said they say its going to happen no matter what?

no it would be like a healing druid rerolling to see what a warrior tanking is like. even if your spec'd as a healing druid you still have the ability to go bear and tank (just not well). if you choose an assassin you CANNOT heal, you have no healing abilities, you have no healing talents, this SI is """""NOT"""" like a druid.

yes as a matter of fact i will. they wanted a story driven MMORPG but then they go and remove the story element by making it so you dont even have to go through it to play the other classes? my not just add a button to make you lvl 50 at character creation because god forbid you have to play the game? this would be the first step BW takes to dumbing down their own product. you already see people that dont like the current faction/class makeup, money says would be the next to go and youll have republic BHs and Imperial Troopers.

i think people are just to lazy to reroll because they cant seem to grasp that AC "IS" your class, its even been stated by BW that their "ACs are more like classes in other games"

your wrong if you dont think this will affect everyones gameplay. lets say for example you level a jugg so you can tank, then you run a FP with a maurader who rolls need on tank gear simply because he can go change his AC to jugg and tank too if he so desires. this mechanic has just cost you gear for no better reason then greed. your laziness to reroll if you wanna play another AC has turned to others greed by adding to an already bad problem with ninja rolling, which will turn into my anger, because i shouldnt have to compete with classes that cant even use the gear their taking from me, which does not equal enjoyment. or you could simply not be invited to a group because they already have a tank since joe nobody just swapped to jugg and threw on a shield gen and called it good. now your sitting in fleet spamming LFG again and the rest of your group is now getting their asses kicked because joe doesnt have the gear to tank or even the first clue of how to play a jugg. now your laziness to reroll has now led to your own inability to find a group and is causing people to die instead of kill bosses, causing huge repair bills and wasting hours time, theirs, yours, and mine. this does affect me, it affects everyone and it is a terrible idea.

if this is the case why have ACs at all? why not just have 4 classes with 5 skill trees, then we wouldnt have to worry about changing ACs, i mean they share the same ship, story, and companions anyway. or maybe its because their not specs that should be changed at the drop of a hat. BW even stated that they want your choices to matter, picking your AC should/does matter and i hope it stays this way. the ability to change your class at the press of a button is the first step on a long dark road that not even blizzard was stupid enough to make, and their adding pandas and pokemon to their game. if this does go live it will be all the proof i need that BW isnt ready to make an MMO.

Not to mention more fotm rerolls, ninja looting, lolfacerolling because they don't have the slightest clue what their new class does, ect..... Btw, I vote no.

I agree, this would be the simplest way to end a lot of the crying.
