  1. Remember when the game was so cool at the beginning. Regardless of class, the only thing you had to worry about was a geared Op opening up on you. Some people whined about sorcs but they wouldn't drop you nearly as fast. Then came the attempts at balance incrementally. Then came a whole pile of changes with 1.2 that will probably forever keep this game unbalanced with respect to classes.
  2. I'd say that was pretty accurate. I certainly enjoyed the leveling process and the freedom to "co-op" with Flashpoints/heroics. The piece that's missing is the MMO immersion: wading through throngs of people as you go about your business, LFG, and massive battles whether it was OWpvp or a planet world event that drew people together. All in all this has been a great game, just not a great MMO.
  3. Welcome to how Pubs feel...on basically every other server.
  4. I'll be playing D3, but there's no reason to act like these games are GFs nRL. You can play more than one & if you get caught, no one cares!
  5. Somewhere a dev is looking at a metric trying to debunk any proof that pvp is anything but balanced.

    Pugs ruin pvp

This has got to be the funniest thread I've read in quite some time. So let me make sure I understand this: You're nerd raging b/c your 6-8 man premade got broken up into 2 groups & you had to fight against each other rather than roflstomp against 8 puggers? Let me guess, your side lost. Typical person running around with thoughts that everyone has to think/play like they do. "Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of stupidity". ~Frank Leahy, Look, 10 January 1955
  7. This is actually one of the reasons I supplied when I filled out the unsub questionnaire. It's hard to take full advantage of Legacy when you can't even create more characters that would benefit from it. In fact with legacy, there is an incentive NOT to reroll on other servers b/c all you can think about is all the work you put into growing it on your previous server. Either more character slots should be allowed via Legacy unlock, or certain legacy benefits should stretch across servers (less likely).
  8. No, I'm on a nicely populated server but even if most people transfer off it, I don't plan on paying. Customers shouldn't have to pay extra in order to benefit from a decently populated server. I can imagine the forums blowing up once free transfers are done with. EA strikes again.
  9. I give much credit to the players involved in creating this thread. But I am a little surprised this didn't come from the community PR guy (Reid?). It kind of gives credence to the QQ (mostly in the pvp forum) about devs not communicating with the player base about the direction of the game or the thought processes involved in making the decisions they are making.
  10. I'm not having any issues either with Firefox. Did you get the latest update?
  11. Hogwash. First, you can't accurately compare this to a FPS game. Second, it didn't ruin WoW pvp, and it didn't ruin Rift pvp (the gear divide and premades at endgame ruined Rift).
  12. Premades have always been the royalty of MMOs. Puggers will forever be chasing the glass slipper.
  13. I think someone threw a wrench in the metrics machine.
  14. This isn't about easy or hard, smart or stupid. It's about having fun. This is a game after all. Forest Gump: "I'm not a smart man. But I know what love is".
  15. Quoting Bloodstealer: " I am not anywhere close to believing population will be addressed by transfers.. what I think will happen is you will get a new wave of players hitting Fatman and Covenant servers perhaps and a few others - then you will get whines that now players already bedded down on those servers are now seeing the 1hr + queues building up just to get into game. " This is EXACTLY what will happen. I'll prob go apesh*t the first time I get dc'd from a WZ & have to wait an hour to get back in game.
  16. Rested XP, flashpoints, PvP, space combat. A well-rounded leveling experience will leave you chasing green quests before they go grey.
  17. Playoffs? Don't talk about -- playoffs?! You kidding me?! Playoffs?! I just hope we can win a game! Another game!" Insert your own comparisons.
  18. It's not even about gear exclusively for me. All males choices (but one) have a cookie cutter 20-something look. I'm old; I'd like a few more options to create a character somewhat befitting my age group.
  19. It's not about the price for a lot of us. We simply want certain features (which have been written about time & again).
  20. I was reviewing the official SWTOR podcast & I read the following concerning the Group Finder coming in 1.3 as taken from Darthhater.com (also available somewhere on this site): Brooks: "I am super excited about group finder because that is one of the biggest things that I have run into in lower game is finding groups and actually being able to run those flashpoints that I get. For players who have maybe never used a group finder before, and I know we have plenty of those, what is that actually going to look like in the game?" Damion: "It is fairly simple ... and then you choose what kind of content that you want to do and that content is going to be flashpoints, heroic flashpoints, operations although story mode operations only for now and then world content, the planetary content where you basically say I want a quest on Belsavis. Then if you hit select from there, then it will try to find people who want to do that stuff. ..., "Hey, I just want to sign up for that." And the group finder will try to find other people who are looking for that content as well so that is a great way for you to target certain quests that you want to accomplish. We felt that was important in our game because of where the game is right now where people are trying to clear out their quest logs and accomplish certain goals in certain places." My questions are: What about us pvpers? Why can't we queue for warzones of choice? Why don't our wants, desires matter? Isn't this a vanilla feature seen in most MMOs? Sure I can understand the rated argument but: 1. We're STILL not playing rateds. 2. Many of us dislike particular warzones. 3. Pvpers deserve as much prerogative as pvers as to"what content we want to do". 4, Even if BW want s rateds to be "e-sport" , couldn't they add this feature for non-rateds? (The answer is yes). TLDR: Some of us would like to queue for warzone of choice, similar to what you're going to give the pve crowd. To use Damien's words: "Hey I just want to sign up for that" (warzone). Thanks for hearing me out.
  21. Even though there are several things I would like added to this game to make me resub, I find it hard to criticize BW for the best thing in the game.
  22. I wonder what the turn around time is...I haven' t received one
  23. The monthly cost is so nominal, I don't see why any developer/producer would even bother with it. I could see allowing us to suspend out account & then when we turn it back on, the sub starting up again. This would work great for people that have to travel or say, our armed forces. Not holding my breath or anything, just an idea.
  24. Along with cross-server queues, this would essentially solve all population problems. The question of course is how to develop & implement that in SWTOR. If BW knew how, they would have already done it. Even if BW learns how to do this, I wouldn't expect it in the next year. Heck we're still w/on transfers, cross-server queuing, and the like. Coding is hard...heck I don't know how to do it.
  25. This would describe my attitude in the past, I've just gotten too jaded I suppose to the problems. Test Thanks for the info.
