  1. Took the words right out of my mouth. I think the queues are a means to an end, wouldn't be surprised if BW set low caps for the servers in question in order to prevent more people from creating a character on that server. I believe it's hard to predict what masses of people will do in certain circumstances, you can predict what a single of a few individuals will do, but with these numbers, I guess it's an art indeed.
  2. Maybe that is exactly what they have done. Not a lock, but a quota to scare new players away. The only other option is that they blundered big time. Make your pick.
  3. Ultimate Gaming Rig? I don't think so. I built my very own gaming rig, including an i7 2600k, 2x Zotac GTX580 AMP! and 16GBs of DDR3 RAM, added watercooling for the graphics card and CPU and 2x SATA3 SSDs to reduce loading times. It's running supersmooth on a 30" display at 2560x1600 pixels resolution - if I can get past the queus, that is. That TB of disk space that you emphasized doesn't do anything for your gameplay experience.
  4. I'm sitting at position #69. For 15 minutes now. At 9.40AM in the morning. What. The. Hell. Is. That.
  5. I wouldn't call it WoW hatred, I'd call it common sense. Maybe the OP wasn't there when WoW was played using mostly the standard UI. Back in the day we only had the crudest of mods, such as raid bars (WoW didn't really have one displaying health bars for 40 people in the raid, but SW:ToR does) and on screen display of raid leader messages (we didn't have TS back then either, now it's ubiquitous). Let me tell you that we were quite capable of raiding and my guild was #1 on our server. When boss mods appeared, suddenly those guilds that had a hard time killing any raid boss could clear whole instances. Skill? When the dungeon finder was added, it seemed like a cool idea at first. We all needed those dailies done and hey, there were so many badges to grind. Over time, anyone with a sane mind realised that the server community was going to hell, because no one needed anyone from their own server anymore, insta dungeon - there you go. Now players like the OP come here onto this forum and claim the very same things that ruined WoW for others, calling them 'nice things'. If you're so eager to have these 'nice things', then why don't you just go straight back to WoW?
  6. Wasn't Jeff Hickman in charge of Warhammer Online as well? That would explain some things.
  7. What exactly was the stress test for I'm beginning to wonder... Queues are unacceptable, period.
