  1. Hello folks. Is there a time and day where groups of 4 queue up for Ranked arenas? I have a few friends that want to start this but we don't know if we will have a pop, so I am looking for other teams out there who would like to coordinate something for fun and practice. Let me know.

    WTB 2v2 and 3v3

2v2 would be pretty much impossible for tanks to do. Tank + DPS would lack burst and not have enough survivability against teams with a healer on them. Tank + Healer teams would have too much survivability and no burst causing matches to always go to suden death, which is boring as hell. Bad idea. Just keep the 4v4 and balance the game around that, it is already a task that I think is too much for Bioware.
  3. People claiming that the relic makes their abilities useless just need to learn 2 play. If you switch targets after it procs you're doing it wrong. Switch to someone else for 6 seconds, then back on whoever you were hitting as it will be another 30 seconds before it procs again so you have a big window to burst. It's not that hard folks, some adapting and intelligent game play can get you around it, come on. So you lost one burst rotation, and that ruined your day? That's it? Don't you have other resources to DPS with? Are you gonna rage quit and smash your keyboard and go "this is ******** I don't wanna play this game anymore?". If so, you're just a bad player, with or without the relic bug and a fix on this won't make any difference. After the relic is fixed these people will still be here crying about some other cooldown and how killing class X is impossible and how they shut down your burst with one button. The relic is just the crying focus of the moment.
  4. I think Bioware should give the same amount of commendations regardless of winning or losing or doing damage and getting medals. This way everyone is happy, just like those soccer matches in school where even the loser gets a trophy and where they don't even keep score so no one wins! /sarcasm off Really OP? Are you 5 years old?
  5. If they remove the relic I at least want my comms back, I bought it before I knew it was broken, in fact I learned about this bug this morning, if I shouldn't have bought it because it is broken I want my ranked AND regular coms back.
  6. If you're getting stunned and your tank is not on top of the DPS stunning them all, force shocking, backhand, force push etc. You're just playing with fail tanks. Being a healer when the tank in your team is bad is very frustrating, specially for sorcs which are more easily interrupted and therefore easier to burst down. But really if you're working with a good tank he won't let people blow you up at the start, and then from that point on good positioning and skill will keep you and your team mates alive even if their DPS "tunnel vision" your ***. OP healers are more self sufficient it seems, they rely less on the tank to survive but in comparison their group and burst heals are worse. I think sorc healers are totally viable in arenas, the problem is when you don't get good teamates then sorc is more vulnerable.
  7. Sorcs are working fine from my point of view, played with good and bad ones so far. They are not that much harder to protect compared to Op healers, in fact sometimes guarding Sorcs is easier than guarding OPs because of force speed, combined with Chilling scream makes kitting much easier, if the Sorc knows how to play their class.
  8. Regardless of math, the common sense choice for me is simple. You don't choose when you crit, and too many crits normally accomplish nothing but overheal, so I go with reliable and steady power. As I don't increase my crit chance much, I go with the reliable and steady alacrity instead of Surge. So far it has been working alright.
  9. Across the months many people came and gonne from our server. Since launch we saw guilds start and die, we saw the community shift around us, and we were affected by the changes, everyone was. But jen'jidai remained strong. Our standard of quality and search for excelence has not changed, and it will not change, because this is the kind of player we have. Persistence, dedication, loyalty. If you are that kind of person, you found that kind of guild. Apply and join the fold.
  10. Here is a video of me and some friends doing warzones, it is Jen'jidai vs Jen'jidai match with some pugs on each team, it's a nice example of how to play this spec in Huttball.
  11. Not accurate. The power you lose when you equip only the shield generator is almost meaningless on your overall DPS, but 20% chance of shielding and absorbing makes a difference on your survivability, even if the rest of your set is DPS. It's important to notice, you can only shield if you have a shield generator. It's like playing a warrior tank and then using a second sword on your off hand, you lose the ability to block, because you have nothing to block with. I don't see why you should throw away that extra passive survivability trait for a little bit of extra power, DPS is not even your main role. Gotta remember that 16/25 spect is Tank first and then assist DPS, meaning control, guarding and peeling are priorities, killing other people are a consequence. I mostly Vicious throw and focus on players with low health when I see them runnning around, or CC/ interrupt the healers in crucial moments, but that is it, the resto of my attention is focused on protecting the team, objectives, and making sure I annoy the enemy the most. Chilling scream, smashes to reduce their accuracy, staying alive and interrupting caps when everyone already died giving people time to return, sacrificing myself just to slow down a group when they are switching or trying to assist a base the team is attacking. those are all situations where having a shield is useful and having a little bit of extra power is useless. Even with a shield you can still put a decent pressure on a player while focusing him, and this is situational because most of the times you have your hands full CCing, switching your guard, peeling off DPSers from your healer etc. If you wanna play this spec as a DPS then fine, take the power Generator, but then it's better to go rage instead of using the 16/25 hybrid.
  12. Use the Shiled Generator Off Hand and the War Leader Lightsaber, there is better status synergy, especially if you are on the Elite War Hero level. On the lower levels the Lightsaber could be Vindicator but when you get to Elite War hero you will have trouble to change they types. But definitely use the Shield Generator.
  13. Well, spec might not suck, but good luck finding a decen ranked team who's gonna want a full vengeance DPS Jugg instead of any other DPS ( as opposed to Rage or Powertech Pyro). The Hybrid tank spec is viable (16/ 25) but full DPS not so much. But we have many threads about this discussion I think, I don't wanna derail this one. I agree with the OP, we need a power option, I don't see why not. Adding a power option will not affect other specs, it will just increase the range of choices. No one will lose from this. The argument that other specs benefit from Crit is irrelevant, what the OP is proposing is not removing the current items and adding a power one, but ADDING a power item ALONG WITH the existent ones.
  14. This is my favourite spec and works really well, I think it is the best tanking spec around because not only you have survivability but you also have utility. Lots of CC, Unstopable to carry the ball etc. Lots of good synergies. It goes very well in ranked. I have a guide for it here at the forums, it is more aimed at people who are just starting with the class and spec but it might have useful gameplay tips if you're willing to try it. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=468757
  15. So, I think this is a first. Me (Kristah), Rruthokar, Th'um and Kazra got our HK-51s at 08:42 server time tonight. The screenshot below taken by me shows my timezone (Brazil time) which is 3 hours ahead of Server. So where you see 11:48 it is actually 08:48 server, a few minutes after we got him, sitting at the fleet. http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l529/LGAllastair/Screenshot_2012-11-15_23_48_17_051828-1.jpg
  16. Jen'jidai provides an environment for all to thrive, don't let yourself be turned away by the solid structure and rules we present, these are much more relevant in practical terms to officers and the people who choose to give their time and help this community thive (thank you guys). For regular members, the result is a family feel of community and activity that can only be achieved with grewat leadership and support from the players. No matter your play style, or game time... as long as you pass our recruitment process, Jen'jidai can feel like home to you. If you wanna be part of that, apply now.
  17. Yeah, I've seen it done a couple times while I was guarding snow side and then I suddenly saw a player flying out of mid lol. Never done it myself, but I know it works. Thanks for mentioning it and reminding me to put in the guide, it is being updated.
  18. I know you asked about PvP, but I'm throwing in some PvE info in case you need, because at times, you do have the freedom to perform a full rotation on someone, so it is good to know how you maximize your DPS. I play hybride Immortal/ Vengeance tank spec (16/ 25) so I don't know much about how pure DPS Vengeance plays in PvP. PvE rotation for vengeance is simple, it revolves around getting Rampage and reset the cooldown for your Ravage. So you start with Saber Throw anytime you can, then you Jump in with Force Charge. and proceed with the first rotation. The logic is, do rotations 1 and 2 as long as you can, they are the bread and butter, they do the highest damage, the other ones are just filler for waiting the cooldowns to reset. 1 - Sundering Assault > Ravage (move to rotation 2) 2 - Sundering Assault > Shatter > Impale (If either Shatter or Impale proc the Rampage and reset ravage's cooldown, you go back to rotation 1, if you're lucky you will do 1,2,1,2... several times. If Rampage does not proc your Ravage will be on cooldown, move to rotation 3). 3 - Sundering Assault > Smash > Force Scream. (from here you go back to number 2 again to try and reset the Ravage cooldown once more, if it works, go into the 1 and 2 loop as they are the main rotations, if you are unlucky and Ravage is still on cooldown after another rotation 2, do the recovery rotation (rotation 4) to get some rage back. 4 - Sundering Assault > Saber Throw (if you have the set bonus to do it at melee) > Assault. (from here you go back to 2 again, this time, even if you are unlucky with the procs, Ravage's cooldown should be naturally reseting, so you can go back to rotation 1 again). It can look complicated, but it is a really simple logic to maximize DPS. Once the boss is below 30%, add a Vicious Throw after the ravage on Rotation 1, also replace Force Scream on rotation 3 by Vicious Throw, if you need to use rotation 3. Try to get it in as much as you can so you can get that extra damage, if you run out of rage do the recovery rotation once or pop Enrage and you should be fine.
  19. Wrong forum, there is a Guild Recruitment subsection for advertising guilds. A moderator will probably move you. Good luck with the guild.
  20. Well, you honestly can't expect to see everything while you level up... the game came out 1 year ago, meaning that most people now are not leveling and that the people you meet when you level up are almost all alts from someone with a 50, so they have 50 stuff to do and are more interested in experiencing the story on their alts rather than anything else. Me for example, I level my alts in warzones and class story, so I stay very little time at the actual world, I only move through the planets to go where I need for the class quests. Also, the times of the day you play will influence the amount of people you encounter. Add that to the fact that Jung Ma is the lower population server at this point and you will realize why you are not meeting hordes of low level players doing PvP/ RP events. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=551322 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=547348 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=547230 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=550997 Those are all threads in these forums that describe RP and PvP events that have happened recently or that will continue to happen weekly. Every Saturday at 10PM ET Jen'jidai hosts a social RP event on the Nar Shadda cantina as well an everyone is welcome to come. If you're 23, Nar Shaddaa is where you probably are, how convenient!
  21. Hmm... not sure you noticed but the original post is from January. I don't think this discussion is even worth anymore, things have changed since then.
  22. Don't generalize, I've always supported a merge, different people have different opinions, can't toss a whole guild in the same boat man, especially when you accuse them of lying I would say Plus, if you check the last 30 days graphics, in terms of population we've been keeping it even: http://www.torstatus.net/jung-ma/history/7d#!/jung-ma/history/30d I think, at least PvP wise, most of our problems is how the low population is changing our habits. People are slowly stopping ranked PvP, stopping warzones because of badies, re-rolling on other servers, giving up on World PvP events etc. They do this because of failed attempts, slow or non-existent queue pops, no reply from bioware regarding cross server queues or server merges (or replies that do not satisfy them). What is hurting the most in Jung Ma is the morale due to the frustration that a low population server can generate, the wait is slowly breaking our community apart.
  23. I'll see what forces I can muster for the imperials, this should be fun.
