  1. Hmm, would it be too much to ask to get lockboxes with all the sets for season 1 like this season and season 3 got as well? I know that's not how it was originally intended, but if that's the way you're going to do things, I personally like the ability to mix and match that we got with season 3, and it'd be great to be able to do that with season 1 stuff as well. Edit: disregard, didn't read the rest of the thread and Alex's response hadn't been posted when I started writing this. Edit in response to this: PvPers don't get mounts and pets legacy wide either. They get exactly one of each that can be activated on one character.
  2. Alex, I've just gotta say, this is how you do ranked rewards. Now all you have to do is announce them earlier in the season so people actually have time to try for them once they know what they are.

    Legacy Bound Rewards

With the rewards for this season being shown as legacy bound on stream, I think it's time to readdress a statement made by Alex Modny back in March during Season 1: Obviously the fact that armor this season and last season is legacy bound contradicts this statement. So my question is this: is the legacy binding of rewards this season representative of how future rewards will be handled, and if so, will you revisit the season 1 rewards and make them legacy bound as well?
  4. So that's three references total, one in response to a case of bragging (Packs' guild) that STI doesn't seem to have a problem with. This still fails to justify a weeks worth of harassment from your guild. Edit: I'm actually going to end my replies here, because this is getting horribly off topic, aside from showcasing exactly what I mean about the state of the server.
  5. He made a post on the forums, and talked about it briefly after getting it, as pvpers are wont to do when they break a record. Since then, the only references to it I've seen anywhere have come from STI. The whole "how much rating did your 15k get you" thing is, quite frankly, a childish response to the kind of pvp achievements we have an entire thread devoted to.
  6. It's not just STI. Recently, yeah, there's been some clashing between our guilds, especially with regards to Drax's 15k, which for some reason has brought on an excessive amount of taunting. However, there's vitriol aplenty impside across guilds. DO falls into this from time to time as well, and I've been working on limiting it as much as possible. As to the "fun" aspect, I think this is another of the problems with the ranked community. Yeah, it's competitive. Yeah, it takes work, cooperation, and strategy to be competitive. But at the same time, ranked should be fun for those who choose to participate, in the same way that a basketball or football game is fun for competitive athletes. This doesn't happen if players don't exercise good sportsmanship. We want to participate in group ranked, and we've been working on setting up at least three ranked teams since you started asking us to queue earlier this season. However, it takes time to get members geared for specific roles, and in the meantime we've gotten nothing but flak for not participating, which is why the people who *are* ready to do group ranked haven't been. Should that change, we'll start queueing for group ranked if it's popping, but until then we'll be sticking to yolo queue.
  7. This applies just as well to PvP, if not more so. Currently grudges between guilds are the one biggest barrier to organizing group ranked impside. Instead of fostering a fun and competitive atmosphere, certain guilds would rather constantly insult anyone who doesn't live up to their standards. It's because of this that my guild does not queue for group ranked when we know certain people are in the queue. We simply don't want to deal with that kind of drama. When I go to servers like Jung Ma, on the other hand, I see a significantly healthier ranked community. Guilds there don't turn it into a stat measuring contest, or a way to get back at another guild for getting a pvp record (because apparently some guilds take that stuff super seriously). I really wish BC impside pvpers could have a less vitriolic community, but a couple of years on the server makes that seem exceedingly unlikely.
  8. That's fair. I'm a full time grad student myself. It's only due to a lull in course work that I'm able to participate in ranked this season at all.
  9. For group ranked, at least, earlier in the evening works better for us. 7-9 would probably be the most ideal compromise. If nothing else, we can simply try and organize separate times for those of us who are central/east coast time. This will be less of a problem once we actually get secondary and tertiary ranked teams going, since we do have pacific members. We're just working on getting tanks to round out those teams.
  10. DO probably won't be able to make it to the group ranked nights since none of our leadership is on the west coast, but we'll definitely try and bring a few people to the solo ranked matches. I personally look forward to some good, fun matches.
  11. Been out of the world for a bit, but I'm going to leave my two cents regarding the state of PvP on the server here. I may or may not show up for the summit if I have time. We'll see. Anyway, I'm more or less just going to echo what N'abi said. As a whole, the PvP community is surprisingly healthy for an RP server. Regs pop frequently and there's usually a fair mix of people in the queue. You've got your premades, of course, as others mentioned, but I've honestly never seen that as a problem. The biggest issues are, once again as others have mentioned, ego and the lack of ranked queues. You'll pardon me for a lack of optimism in this area, but the former is an issue that will never be resolved. It's something that is in no way unique to Begeren Colony or SWTOR in general and will persist in any setting where players are measured against each other. As to ranked queues, the fix to this is relatively easy. We simply need to set up organized queue times and encourage participation from anyone interested. And honestly, as much as we'd all like people to be geared when they queue for ranked, we have to recognize that this is something that simply won't be feasible if we want consistent queues on an RP server. The number of people in full min/maxed brutalizer gear on the server is exceedingly small. Hopefully this will be addressed during the summit, because from my perspective at least, these are the only issues the PvP community really has at this point in time.

    Conquests and PvP

Let me get this straight....the devs have finally added something that is bringing large numbers of people into pvp, an aspect of the game that has been floundering since launch.....and you want them to remove this feature? What you see as a nuisance, I see as an opportunity to get more people interested in a currently neglected aspect of the game.

    Legacy PvP Rewards

At the risk of this turning into yet another rant thread, I'd like a simple question answered: Why is the S2 reward helmet legacy bound when it was clearly stated in S1 that rewards would not be legacy bound? If I recall correctly, the reasoning in S1 was because they wanted to make sure that there was no confusion as to which character had earned the rewards. If a character was wearing reward armor players would know it had been earned on that character. Now, however, we have the deathmark helm which completely undermines that argument, especially since characters to whom the helm is traded don't even have to be 55 to wear it. Personally, I never really understood making the armors bind on equip anyway, since I think most of us endgame pvpers wear legacy armor these days to simplify the grind, especially for those of us who have multiple chars of the same AC cross faction. My complaint in the end is one of consistency. If you're going to say that rewards aren't going to be legacy bound, either stick to that or make them all legacy bound. It's simply bad PR to renege on a statement like that.

  17. Deadly Obsession may or may not be getting one. We're waiting for the PTS to determine whether Galactic Conquest is something worth participating in.
  18. Madness sorcs in general. Crushing darkness is easily my biggest weakness as an immortal jugg.
  19. There are other gold sinks now though. The Guild Ships, Strongholds, and Nar Shadaa event all serve that purpose. Additionally, something like this would probably increase spending on cartel gear through the GTN, as well as the unlock itself.

  21. Guild: Deadly Obsession (Imp side) Guildmasters: Myself (Kres'olaro'nyx), Ri'us, and Morainur. PMing in game is the best way to reach us. Website: http://deadlyobsession.shivtr.com/ Population: 41 active accounts Orientation: End-game competitive PvP, casual PvE (just started a raid group recently for SM/HM content) when we feel like it. We hold in-guild ranked matches whenever there's enough people on for it. We generally limit recruitment to people who already know what they're doing in PvP in terms of gear, strategy, and the like, although we do occasionally make exceptions for people who show a strong interest in becoming competitive. Edit: updated to include guild website.
  22. This is Kres'olaro'nyx, one of the GMs of Deadly Obsession. We're one of the larger PvP guilds on the server, but we've recently been looking at getting our own progression teams going. To that end, I and possibly one or two other representatives will be attending. If all goes well, we'd definitely like to explore Yovakka's suggestion of doing something similar for PvP as well, but that's a discussion for another time. For now I'd just like to thank Yovakka for organizing this and everyone involved for lending their support. Yovakka's a good friend of mine, and it's great to see such an ambitious idea of his take root.
  23. Disconnecting does not appear to be resolved. I am getting massive spikes of server lag that last for a few minutes at a time and I have seen multiple people on my server (Begeren Colony) complaining about the same issue. I can't really do anything in game right now, because every few minutes I'll get another spike.
  24. Honestly the easiest solution to the relative lack of ranked play would be to simply allow dual queueing - queue for both ranked and us ranked at the same time and have the little timer pop-up tell you which you're about to enter. This would alleviate any conceptions of time wasted sitting in a ranked queue.
