  1. good job guys, i salute you. too bad people fail sometimes to understand that if they want to have fun its best to find some other folks and be creative, even on the scale you did. oh and Viva La Republic!!!
  2. you do realize wow has exactly zero what you call PvP maps when it was out?
  3. yeah i am 50 just wanted to do something to test my companions. Going to check out the Ilum ones, thank you!
  4. I suddenly thought that i know none of those. PvE people, can you please help me and point those out?
  5. logged, helped my buddy who is also a well known russian video streamer with his Ilum daily - had immense fun, my wife joined us and we pwnt 5 imps with 3 of us (no ****!). Then helped my wife with heroics on Voss, she wants to gear up her companions. After that helped our lvl 37 friend with Taral V, then daily reset come so we grinded Ilum for like 2 hours, then my wife went for WZ dailies and i stayed for Ilum some more - had some great fun especially when in small numbers we were locked in our base, i capped our cannon and obliterated imps twice in a row - we managed to get out of the base and hold our cannon for a good 10-15 minutes each time. Was really nice, now i am leaving for work, and be back in 3 hours - then i will finish my WZ dailies, or may be i leave it for tomorrow. Its very tempting to grind BM when you are Valor 58 already - but i dont want to burn myself out. Overall, we spent a lot of time playing today and it was some real fun.
  6. i've read your "constructive post about MMO" briefly, and with my heart all open, i didnt find anything that actually proves your point that SWTOR some how does not have enough MMO elements in it. The only topic you actually raise that connects with MMO issue is the social hubs one. Every other is just your opinion on almost every game aspect that does not connectto the MMO aspect directly, more of it, some players, including me, are having exactly the opposite opinion. For example, i found PVP extremely fun and really cant wait for the moment they fix Ilum - because the mechanics, the pace, the feeling of combat is really something i enjoy. But even when reading your opinion about so called "social hubs" - can you please bring examples of those in other games, but well designed? i find myself Ilum OPS or WZ groups very social, i 've got some buddies and rivals only by PvPing, or let me say this - whenever i want to be socially engaged i find the opportunities easily, i really do not need to struggle, nor do i feel the game tries to stop me from being social. And i see other people doing the same - joking in general chats, in OPS, whispering in a friendly manners, etc. But still i really want to understand what do you imply as a good "social hub" design?
  7. i am absolutely amazed how constructive threads like this one falls to 4-5th page in a matter of hours because of, well, being constructive. it is funny how people who trash the game can at best name 2-3 features they like only to fill 12-13 points they did not like. it is clearly very hard to give a well thought opinion - it makes you think, and *** i came to these forums not to think but to be entertained!!!!`111111
  8. he says that if you do like the game, you are labeled fanboi and your opinion does not matter. simple it is.
  9. ++ 1. A proper star wars game. I feel myself at home finally ^^ 2. Story is good, sometimes great. For that amount of content its amazing. 3. Some polishes and design ideas are fresh - companions and overall crafting system is good. 4. PvP is lots of fun, WZ design are proper and cool. Huttball is a nightmare with bad team but a delightful thing with a proper. 5. I know its a generalization, but still - the game is good. Overall i have a good, pleasant, stable experience. This is a huge plus, since the only games i play now is BF3 and SWTor. And if you would see my steam library, you might be shocked -- 1. Badly optimized engine. 5 fps large scale PvP is no fun, especially frustrating when you realize it would be a LOT of fun if it performed properly. 2. No macros/UI customization. Being one of those interface design perfectionists it was a tough time to adapt to some features. Also we really do need combat log. 3. Few real innovations. Theme park PvE is so old for me personally, its zero fun at all. We did False Emperor normal run once with my friends, and that was the only PvE experience i've yet to had since level 50. Too boring, and i have no real choice to "kill packs kill boss get loot" chain. 4. Space missions need improvement, but i really think its obvious for the devs so i just mention it here, but i am not worried. 100 percent sure they will improve this part in time. 5. Doors, space stations, hangars, for the gods sake, srsly. Someone who designed that had good intentions but that really need some fixing, starting with allowing to use mounts in there.
  10. i am real player, did you read my responses to the game?
  11. i really wish everyone who use words biodrone or tortanic on these forums get insta 24 hours forum ban, including myself right now, just for the sake of justice. i am not kidding. another option for those who use "tortanic" is a massive stab in the face through monitor after a year, when, most probably, swtor will be one of the most played MMOs to date.
  12. i cant tell you! a making of a decent game, that much.
  13. yes, i will stick to my plan "see what happens until March ends". 1.2 promises a lot of a proper changes, so i will definitely be here to see them. Funny but right now SWtor is the only game i CanBA to play, i couldnt even motivate myself to get a DLC for DEx3, and i am rather a complitionist by nature. Hell i didnt even finished Skyrim (was a mistake getting a Bethesda game after all hehe) i got bored so much since the story was absolutely predictable (OH LORD I AM DRAGONSLAYER A HERO OF THE PAST, and i know this after 1 hour of gameplay). May be i like SWTor because it gives me room to learn and improve, and i actually enjoy this most in gaming. too bad PVE in SWTOR is very dull at the moment for someone who did hardcore WoW during Ulduar (top 3 russian guild) - its too easy, too predictable, too bugged. PvP is fun tho, warzones are cute, huttball is a disaster or a total satisfaction depending on who do you play with and against. Lets see where is this all going. Personally i wait most for the proper large scale pvp, pvp space fights (and new ship customization ofc), new warzones/rated warzones, and may be an interesting PvE content.
  14. why people keep discussing one occasion of a low numbers? please, add more, share more. Why noone discuss my numbers, for example? they are pretty legit, everyone can check by rolling an alt.
  15. Tayrus Academy 6 am in tusday morning. _republic_ fleet - 12-15 (we are imp server outnumbered around 2/3). Chances of getting wz running at the same time - pretty low, at 8am - pretty decent. In the prime time, RF pop - over 100, Ilum at daily reset time - sometimes 2 instances, 2 full republic OPS, god knows how many imps. WZ queue - from 3 to 15 minutes during the day, doesnt really matter prime time or not. Cant share about PVE tho, dont do that.
  16. erm, didnt have a single WZ count bug since last patch, nor my guildmates/friends. You either misinforming or didnt play for a while. Ability delay is ok now, really, there are issues but they fixed it to a playable level. FPS issue is nonexistant - there is an engine issue on Ilum, it is indeed not fixed, which, in turn, will take plenty of time to fix.
  17. WoW was good. It is now a pile of reused food that somehow tries to pretend its not a simple poop. It was really really good for the first 4 years, lets say it was good for the first 2, amazing for next 2, degrading since then. SWTor is good. Since its a big money they decided to play sure and made a game that copies another game that is in fact a reused food, so it makes SWTOR somewhere 2nd or even 3rd time reused food. Thats bad, i wish Bioware stood bold and made some really innovate design es, instead they just copied what was good and tried to polish that. Bad, not creative. The game still is good, plenty of nice experience, cute stories, cute little details that makes you go "ahhhh Star Wars". In time, SWTor will never be as big as WoW. Because its a reused food, no one wants to eat that too much. But i really hope that at some point peeps at Bioware realize that they really really need innovation, not polish, right now. They fixed engine to the level its enjoyable to play (now fix mass combat and most people will praise the games smoothness), they starting to bring out a proper UI, in 2-3 month the game will shape itself. But after that, only innovation will save it. My thoughts - strong neutral line for both faction, may be even third faction, may be a proper space combat - say, Tie Fighter in a mmorpg. A bit more freedom, less linear endgame, more space to be creative. They started so good with social items/levels - but its so unfinished and rushed. I will never go back to WoW, its dead as it could only be. More of it, i am sure you will not be happy with it either, thats why you post here - you wont be happy with WoW, you will grew tired of it in a month or too, or even faster. It sooooo same old, its not even worth talking about.
  18. I've heard Onyxia does deep breath way to more often after recent patch.
  19. for that price its either 550ti or radeon 6850. i would recommend the latter, but if you cant add a bit to the sum its better to get 560ti, which is actually a very good card for the money. btw you have a pretty decent setup, with proper video you shouldnt have any problems most of the time. edit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130623 this one for example is 199 with rebate and free shipping. no matter if you are planning on getting a new computer or not, this is a worthy investment.
  20. well problem is there are fps issues and fps issues, most people just dont understand that. during normal gameplay, i have zero fps issues worth mention. i run X3 720BE clocked 3200 and 6870 for videocard with 8 gigs of ram (which i updated just recently since it really helps with alttabing). my wife runs same processor but inferior video card she still manages just well on settings maxed. large scale PvP is absolutely another issue. you come to Ilum at 12pm GMT - you stuck with slideshow no matter how good your machine is. Is this an fps issue? Well, technically yes but technically no, its engine issue, client/server talk issue. I bet way more then 5 percent play PvP, but what they do experience is not a real fps issue, its just a bad engine chosen for the specific task.
  21. but the only real problem BF3 had were cheaters, and since lately they actually did some job removing those from the game... so your point being?
  22. because on these forums its a good tone to blame, bash and criticize the game without any borders. Its just like we roll here, so he obviously taking his excuse for being different.
  23. here is a reason i played SWG for 2 hours. i am fan of Star Wars but canon movies only, never was that deep in wookiepedia. i played WoW from day 0. cross server LFD = death of server community. People stop to get known each other, focused only to play with friends they already know mostly, and yes the game goes SO MUCH gearcentric its a disaster. I am wholeheartly oppose cross server LFD. If it is really needed, server merge is a way better solution.
  24. cross server warzones? game will be instantly dead for me.
  25. then make a change. cross server pvp/pve is in fact a double edged thing. at first i was very happy with cross server BGs and later with dungeon finder, it was letting me instantly enter with my wife or a couple of friends and spend some time. what i did realize later, that it came at a, i would say, rather terrific price - people stopped to get to know to each other, build rivalries/friendships, started to look upon each other as a tools, a decorations, judging each other by the server tag. This is bad, really. When i played on EU servers, pre cross server anything, i've got some people to know i keep chatting on facebook/gtalk weekly for years! they live all over the world. I know their families, i support them when they are having a divorce, moving to another country, i am happy with them when they get a new car. And all of that because some random chat started in WSG starting zone at some point Crosserver things give you an everyday advantage on spending your time, but in the long run it severely restricts your ability to build relationships, and thats the whole freaking mission of an MMO. to get along with other people. And that really helps with boredom when you need it, in the end.
