  1. I've never played an online game since I started with DAOC where the game comes out and a couple months later it goes on sale, Unless it's not doing as well as they would like. Warhammer and Rift come to mind of two that did poorly and had to reduce pricing very quickly. Usually there is no reduction in price for a new mmo for at least 6 months to a year, unless they're doing poorly.
  2. Where have you been? People that play mmo's are not forgiving. You can look to the last few failures to see that. There's a window, if you can't keep your subscribers within 2-3 months of release you won't ever get em back. People are not forgiving in mmos they'll move on to the next new one or back to their old one if you can't grab them that first few months.
  3. ^^This^^ BW is just as much to blame. This one doesn't fall squarely on EA alone.
  4. Same here, If I want story I'll read a book. I play mmo's online as a fun hobby. I don't watch t.v. I play video games in my spare time. VO in SWTOR got old fast, the class quests sometimes I'd watch it, but mostly spacebar, spacebar, spacebar through it all. When I'm at home relaxing, playing a game, Watching some voiceover that wastes half the evening of playtime is not my idea of fun. To those that do enjoy it, wonderful, I'm glad you can, but if I want story, I'll read a nice book.
  5. Those that absolutely defend anything bad about SWTOR will not be able to answer you as they'll be ingame playing....Wait! no they'll be here soon posting, because even though they won't admit it, they're bored to tears too and come here to post instead of logging in to play.
  6. I have, and under my subscription it says it's ending soon with no date, lol.
  7. Sad but true. I won't pay a sub for a third month. Mine runs out soon and I won't even give it another shot later on. A game comes out they really need to grab me within the first few months or they lose me as a subscriber. DAOC, Asheron's Call, WoW, all held my attention for years. SWTOR is meh...can't see paying a sub for it.
  8. That's no guarantee people will buy a game. I play betas and free trials all the time and never buy the game.
  9. I said first off there were no heavy servers and that's all I said, can you not read, I never said there were any heavy servers lately, can you seriously not read?
  10. I checked between 6pm -2am est and there was not one heavy server. That's the norm the last few weeks, I'm not exaggerating.
  11. WoW is an old game, it should be cheap and free trials.
  12. Course they are, you need only look to see servers on North America during prime time are standard and light. There are no more heavy servers anymore, and you can go ingame and see that too.
  13. I am getting deja vu , this game is reminding me of Warhammer. Released with over a million the first few weeks then belly flopped a few months later once people saw how endgame was.
  14. Hehe. What's more is they couldn't even clone it well. I definitely have the same feeling I had with Warhammer..We had over a million people in just 14 days but months later it was a ghost town anywhere you went.
  15. If anything they need to wait months, because when they push something out that's not been tested they break more every single time than they fix.
  16. Exactly, these days a game has 2 months to keep me. If they fail, I never look back. This is one of those games that failed to keep me. If people would take the fanboi glasses off they could see this abysmal mess of a game for what it is, Crap. I'm extremely disappointed that this is the quality of game BW gave us, I really expected more from them. They were sloppy and lazy and it shows everywhere in the game. Mediocrity is ok with BW fanbois I suppose.
  17. I agree, Illum is rediculous when you have 2 ops groups on screen together. BW have no clue what they're doing and it shows.
  18. SWTOR is like WoW, in pvp and pve grinding, with less content to do when you don't want to do those 2 things. So to me yes SWTOR is another WoW wanna-be and it's boring, tired, and I've played that before with WoW. Maybe Guild Wars 2 or Planetside 2 will be good. GW2 is looking a bit more like DAOC to me everyday, and that's a good thing, since DAOC and Asheron's Call were my first mmo's. To the other DAOC fans here's an article for GW2 describing some of the features. http://www.arena.net/blog/mike-ferguson-on-guild-wars-2-world-vs-world
  19. Aye, well said. I remember 3 months out with WoW, I was still trying to buy copies of the game. There wasn't enough copies for the huge demand for the game.
  20. I cancelled too. Wish there was a good mmo out there to play right now, that isn't a WoW clone.
  21. $48.41 on Amazon. *Corrected* $48.41 not $48.51
  22. Hate to say it but Rift is even better than SWTOR. I couldn't stand Trions wow clonish game, but there's more to do in that game than there is in SWTOR.
  23. You need only look at the population on Servers during prime time to see that's not going to happen. There are no more Heavy populated servers, they're all standard and low during primetime. If they were adding subs this wouldn't be so.
  24. It's not the same Mythic from DAOC early days. The Mythic, EA has now is the Mythic that created Failhammer.
