  1. You know, if you get upset enough with this game and decide to quit, not saying that I would blame you :) but you can always play Rift. At least there they have amazing graphics, no bugs that I know of, new mounts, a VERY immersive environment where you can ACTUALLY travel and explore without running into an exhaustion zone, lots of nice guilds with OPERATIONAL guild banks that don't cost 600K, World Events, zone events, etc... etc... etc... I have an annual sub there and WoW, play EQ2 and this game so I thought I would drop that in for anyone who would be interested in checking that out. I play games to have fun that's why I have no prob playing WoW or Rift or EQ2 or even this game - when it's working lmao! But, like so many other ppl here, I too am getting a little annoyed with BW and EA's lack of foresight in regards to their player base and will prob leave, yet again, for a 3rd time and wait another few months before coming back and giving them another chance - if they're still here that is and it hasn't gone to F2P by then.
  2. Leave Bioware alone. It's obvious that EA forced them to release the patch early.

EA is where you direct your hate at.

Yes, I can feel your anger and your hate - it makes you stronger. Give into your hate for EA -

EA = Nickle and Dime and Nickle and Dime

Forbe’s Paul Tassi writes, “I’ve been covering hate of EA for quite a while now, and understand why their brand is so despised among gamers. They have [a] habit of buying beloved gaming companies and either summarily executing them, or corrupting them to the point where they’re almost unrecognizable. Most recently, fans mourned the apparent loss of Bioware. The genius [developer] was behind Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect, but the way newer titles like The Old Republic and Mass Effect 3 have been handled since EA took over has caused fans to lose faith. EA is at the forefront of some of the most annoying practices in the industry to date, such as restrictive DRM, seemingly abusive DLC and appearing to trade creativity for cash.”

  3. i placed tons of items and money in the guild bank, where the hell has it gone#!

bioware....you are really starting to become my number one hated game producer.

Hey, don't you pick on BW - as everyone on this board knows, they can do no wrong. But rather, let me turn your attention here:

EA = Nickle and Dime and Nickle and Dime

  4. You are kidding me. I spent 500k plus schematics and I cant even get my set bonus to transfer? Why even make the item mods removable on the older gear? This is a tremendous lack of over site. Making your 50 player base this outraged is not a good idea, especially since they are your meat and potatoes.

Dude, haven't you figured it out by now? BW doesn't care, as long as those subs keep rolling in and the stockholders receive their dividends, well, you know the rest...

  5. I'd rather not see "guilds" that are merely bank alts.

Why not - that's just another form of game play. In one of my other guilds in WoW, the guild has a spare guild bank for overflow. You have some ppl in guilds that primarily craft for the entire guild so needed extra space is a given. The same may happen in this game if guilds are closely knit. PPl volunteer to craft for the guild and extra space is usually needed for mats. Not seeing what's so hard for you to understand. And banking alts are good to have. You need to store all that crap you find and one bank isn't usually enough. E.g., if you have 2K of different types of metals, cloth, etc... - where are you going to store it all?

  6. Gotta agree

The 12 person guild not a issue as you just roll alts and add them

the 600k does seem they are trying to force small guilds in to merging into large guilds thus artifically hiding their lack of community and interaction in game.

Plus large guilds makes Raiding more acceptable

    I paid for 6 months

I down loaded the bugged patch today (2 hours to dl, 2 hours to repair bugged initial dl)

But I just cant seem to convince myself to log in now.

95 days left on cancelled account and whats the sense?

Truely disappointed in how this game turned out!

BTW: Im one of 4 people left in game from over 150 players I have connections to. 4 (and my account cancelled when time up) of 150. Not good odds

I'm really sorry to hear that :( This is my 3rd time coming back thinking BW has changed their sorry asset toon and improved - well I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks as the saying goes. I only came back cuz I love star wars and was hoping with patch/update 1.2 things would have gone for the better but I see this is sadly not the case. I read the funniest thing too that the devs wrote. They said that this update is probably one of the largest in MMO history for free. I nearly fell out of my chair at work when I read that obvious fabricated piece of crap. Maybe it was the largest for code since they're using an antiquated piece of garbage for a game engine - that perhaps is true. But as for content wise - who the hell are they trying to crap??! Do they think we're so stupid to believe that?? Look at Rift - ALL their updates are for FREE and we get fantastic stuff - including new EXPLORABLE areas to play in with a complete story line of adventures, etc... Not some small piece of instanced garbage... Honestly, do they really think their player base are mindless fools?????

  7. I have played played 5 games. All but SWTOR gave the guild a bank, at least the first tab. The other pages had to be paid for in increasing amounts.

What is this obsession BW has with exorbitant prices for things that should be given?

There was so much of "yes, yes, we are going to add this to the game...." They forgot to mention we are going to charge you up the nose for every single bit of it... to the point where all you will be doing all day is grinding around trying to come up with the credits. Honestly, I am stunned about the gouging.

    You're absolutely correct.

you guys familiar with 'foamy the squirrel?' use his voice here when reading my tirade on BW... for those of you who don't know who foamy is: go to this link first and hear him give his speech, then apply his voice to what I'm saying:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcwAwTPX3IQ

BW says "oh buy our CE edition and then you get VIP access to special vendor and great things..." Oh yeah, what they FAIL to tell you is that they are for an insane amount of money!!! W T F BW??!! How is some new lvl 7 thinking that they can get something nice since they bought the CE, go to the VIP lounge only to find nothing is in your price range. Just makes me sick... I truly look forward to the day when this game goes F2P because as it is, the ONLY thing holding this game together is the IP and THAT'S IT. Am I pissed, yeah a little lmao - I hate liars...

  8. Guild bank is a standard feature (although it takes some games a while to implement). It's a standard feature that you standardly have to pay for.

While you're at it, why not QQ about how speeder piloting should be free, since riding is a standard feature, or why should we have to pay crew skill trainers for new schematics, since crafting is a standard feature?

Gawd, it's a game, but even a sci-fi game like this has to have a sense of realism, and paying for services that you would in no way receive for free, unless you were the Emperor himself, is that sense of realism.

Could the price be a little less? For the first tab, yes, maybe it could. But free?

    Don't be ridiculous...

35K for training - Yeah that's reasonable ROFLMMFAO!

  9. Forbes is talking about REAL money, not in game fake money.

The main point of the article is to show how EA is the worst company in this country, how they crap and lie to their customers and could care less. I personally hope they go up in a ball of flame breaking the curse they have placed on all those around them. Then maybe, BW will be able to be creative again...

  10. Bioware doesn't want personal guild banks. This is the key you are missing. They want a guild bank to be for guild usage and not for your alts. I'm not sure why you would even need a guild bank for your alts. It's hard just to fill 2 tabs in a personal vault unless you are an hoarding for some odd reason.

lol Yes I am a horder. I can't help it. In WoW, I had a tailor and have over 10K pieces of varied types of cloth. I feel that you just never know when you'll actually need it. And now since we can do cross faction mailing, I can make a synthweaver on my sith guy make clothing and then mail it to my republic alts. I just love collecting stuff :) Like in Rift. I have a lvl 20 warrior but he's maxed out in artificer so I can make any of my other toons any kind of artificer stuff for any lvl. I'm sure there are a lot of other horders out there as well who understand this.

  11. Are you saying a web-based cookie is difficult to implement?

Well... have you read the threads today and all the wonderful new "surprises" all the dedicated players have been faced with??? And here you talk about cookies :o Personally I would use LSO's (Local Shared Objects) and have them placed on everyone's machines. I think this might be a better route but I get the feeling that the geniuses at BW would find a way to screw that up as well...

  12. Oh good, then my first glance wasn't totally wrong.

In between respecing cause of the skillpoint reset and submiting a ticket cause my headslot doesn't show up, i didn't re-check the first answer to this thread, even though i was kinda sure i saw something that wanted credits from me, even though i unlocked it levelwise.

This game WILL ALWAYS want credits from you...

  13. Well, on the topic of pointless posts, it seems you have come to expect a lot of things. And yet you still keep telling us about them. If you need me to spell it out for you, sure, I'd be happy to.

You said, "Not everyone wants to drop 600K just for the ability to use a storage slot."

I said, "And they have a choice not to."

If you don't want to do something, don't do it. It doesn't mean it should be changed because you do not want it that way. I want to pay $40 for a $400 handbag ... but I don't see that happening. So I buy a regular handbag that holds my stuff just the same. I made a choice. Now you make one - if 600k is outrageous to you, don't buy it.

lol! I understood what you said but my point was that it is lunacy to expect one person to drop that amount of money for a stupid lock box to store alt's extras. But I suppose those of us who are irritated by this "stroke of genius" can QQ enough to the devs on a constant basis and get it reduced down :) Remember, if you want change now a days in MMO's you have to QQ hard and they listen :) and ppl like you will blindly follow and not question but I guarentee when we finish QQ'ing and they drop the price, you'll be one of the first to take advantage of it.

  14. While i disagree with your high horsing tone i thank for the clarification/information.

And for the record: Yes, the limited playtime and the speeder speed go hand in hand, cause it allows me to get faster to the mission objectives.

Pay no attention to the horse behind the stall...

  15. Arrrgh, i just recently wrote in a thread that i as a non-hardcore mmorpg player with limited gametime have issues with the prices of speeder lvl 2.

Now i look through the Legacy system and not only do i need lvl 50 to get my species unlocked, it also costs a ton of money (at least for me it is a ton)

Is it not enough that you have to get your legacy level up? Is it really necessary to put a pricetag on everything, especially when those things are mostly cosmetic or gimimicks?

I was looking forward to the legacy functions but now just realized that i probably can't even use 20% of it.

I have only one thing to say to you about this bud:

EA = Nickle and Dime and Nickle and Dime

Forbe’s Paul Tassi writes, “I’ve been covering hate of EA for quite a while now, and understand why their brand is so despised among gamers. 16. It's a great addition to have cross-faction mail between characters of the same legacy. However, it would make things much much easier if the names of all characters from the legacy would appear in the auto-complete drop-down, as some appear now.

Ok, now you're asking for too much. And this is such a complicated feat of wonder, it would tie up the devs for weeks on end just trying to do this. Shame on you for even asking...

  17. have to admit im really disapointed in this...i was looking forward to making my rakatta armour blue or green....but no...chest is black so all is black....

I hate to admit it but 1.2 so far feels really half arsed , legacy level of 32....and it gives me nothing really..i still have to spend a load of credits to unlock anything..all I've gained is buffs...woo...

meh early days so far but if this was the big "game saver" i think you failed guys ...

EA = Nickle and Dime and Nickle and Dime

  18. I tried really hard to stay, but finally I also canceled my account which will expire in 6 days (the 18). I'm really not sure 1.2 will make me change my mind... more daily grinding? more PvP grinding? and you screwed up the orange gear upgrading for us casuals?

Here's why this game didn't "hook" me like other games did over the 17+ years I play MMORPGs now (and muds before)... UO, AC1, AO, WoW, LOTRO, all those games had something which kept me playing for years instead of months.

    1) VERY linear game design, which leads to low replay value. I have one character at 50 on each side (Republic and Empire)... well, and that's it. I tried to start other characters, and despite the main story, you spend most of your time doing the same quests you already did before. It's already bad in most theme park MMORPGs, but in SW:TOR, you really have no choice. And don't tell me I can PvP or do space missions to level... yes I can, but I don't want to. Actually, my two level 50 are also maxed out in space missions, that doesn't make you able to skip the linear planet progression.

    2) Nothing much to do at 50... did the instances once or twice, I don't raid anymore (got tired of the gear carrot and repetition in WOW, I won't repeat it in SW:TOR), dailies get boring really quick, and there's nothing else to do. I tried to do the planetary titles... they are bugged. I tried to do other achievements, most planets are also bugged so you can't complete them. There's no "fluff" to collect either, and even in 1.2, you still have to choose between look and efficiency.

I don't regret buying SW:TOR + digital upgrade pack + authenticator, and paying 3 months subscriptions. I definitely got entertainment worth my money. But that's it, the game is stale for me now. It's a good investment, but compared to the other games I list above and that I've played for years, it's also a short one.

I plan to reactivate and come back when you guys move on in the story though. Taking two characters to the stories of the two sides was a blast, and I'm looking forward to more of that. But the rest of the game is bland, more of the same, with less variety than the other games I left.

May the Force be with you all though, and I really hope to be back soon when new story elements are added past the Ilum story line.

Yep you're absolutely right on all accounts. We need excitement in this game to give us a true feeling of immersion. Like in Rift. We should have either a giant robot or an army of rogue robots attacking dromand kaas or coroscant and you need to group with 10-20 ppl to defeat it and get great prizes. I feel no immersion in the game - it's about as dead as all the areas I go to. I had like 10-15 ppl on the planets, ugh, I mean corridors, that I was on last night. Only place I saw ppl was in the fleet.

We need more fluff in the game. I want to be able to go and collect stuff and turn them in for nice gifts and cute pets. The vendors sell crap and nothing interesting. And don't give the museum artifacts answer - that's crap as well. You get pet gifts - OH BIG DEAL. I can buy those from the vendor next to him or get them from crafting.

  19. collecting things, does not equal fluff.

as to your lack of ability to fill you gear slots, that sir is entirely on you.

If there are no resources with which to fill them, from where should I pull them? Crafting is crap in this game - we all know this. Crafters on my server don't put anything on the ah cuz they know it won't sell. I'm just hoping they improved things in 1.2 but as it stands, I'm still casting a no-confidence vote....

And you didn't answer my question about these so-called world drops; pets, trinkets, cool stuff that's useable and nice. I don't see any of that anywhere.

  20. yes, because credits are the same thing as real world monies.

either you are trolling, or so far off in left field that you have lost all reason.

LOL! :) I'm not the only one who thinks this:

Forbe’s Paul Tassi writes, “I’ve been covering hate of EA for quite a while now, and understand why their brand is so despised among gamers. They have [a] habit of buying beloved gaming companies and either summarily executing them, or corrupting them to the point where they’re almost unrecognizable. It IS Forbes afterall... just saying...

    http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/67942420.html

  21. nope, i got the point quite well. i merely disagree with you opinion. we do infact have quite a few things we can collect and do. this game isnt focused on fluff like other games are, and shouldnt be. that particular niche is filled already, hence why i dont believe we need it here.

What fluff?? I don't see any pets, trinkets, etc... dropping in the world. If they are, can you tell me where cuz I'd like to find some.

And orange gear is useless unless you have the stuff to fill in the slots - and the ah on my server is about as barren as the rails themselves :( That's why I like my pets - they keep me company on the cold, dead, barren worlds I visit... :)
